  1. I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping for a F150 based Bronco like the big one. I had a 96 Bronco and it was the most versatile vehicle I ever owned. I could haul plywood or lumber and seat 5 comfortably. The AC was the best I've ever seen and you could use the truck as a meat locker. I didn't do much off roading but when I got stuck in a snowstorm in upstate NY I just plowed through 18-24 inches of snow in 4wd.
  2. Going through DE and VA adds a lot more time. Taking 301 is usually faster than going through DC as I related.
  3. I've driven through MD and DC plenty of times with no issues. There have been a few horror stories about driving through MD. But there are only a few. I don't worry about it READ AND UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS UNDER FOPA AND TRANSPORT IAW. Drive the speedlimit. Don't do anything stupid as already advised. I avoid DC often by taking 95S to 97S in MD to 50W/301S, to 301S, and back on 95S near Richmond. That's not to avoid gun issues but to avoid traffic in DC. Speed limit is lower and there is a bit of congestion through towns. But when you're standing still in traffic on the DC beltway 50 mph on 301 looks good. A few years ago on a Sunday my daughter left Richmond about an hour before me. She took 95. I took 301. I got back 2 hours before she did.
  4. You really don't need to rent anything. Many here have adult children living at their house. Most don't pay rent but they maintain a residence there.
  5. He doesn't have a NY carry permit. IF he truly is a dual state resident, spends part of the year at his parents, has his own bedroom and keeps stuff there, I THINK, he would be okay taking the guns with him. He would be subject to any NYS laws concerning transportation. NO WAY HE COULD CONCEAL CARRY IN NY WITHOUT A NY PERMIT.
  6. If you broke a law, hollowpoints are the least of your worries. If that's the case you don't need a "gun" lawyer, you need a good criminal defense lawyer
  7. But all in all it's getting somewhere.

    THE SHADOW

As I said. the art of the radio play is dead. Back in the early 70s, a girlfriend of mine loved how I said like Alred Hitchcock, "we'll be back in a moment" Only contribution I made to radio plays
  9. I'm in the Tom's River area. Note that you're a member of CJRPC. I could meet you there.
  10. 240 rds 30'06, M2 Ball, Greek HXP. In boxes and sealed can no clips. Ammo designed for your Garand. $350. Less than the going rate on Ammoseek and they may not have it. Willing to negotiate delivery. 175 rds 7.62x54r milsurp. 100 rds Russian and 75 rds Czech. Understood to be corrosive. You need to come within 10 miles of Tom's River for this. $75. Keep your Mosin shooting. First "I'll take it" gets it.
  11. Knock off $10 you're within 10 miles of Tom's River.
  12. IANAL but IMO any JHPs are legal for home defense in NJ. The laws concerning JHP in NJ for the law abiding citizen do not say where you can USE them, they say where you can POSSESS them.
  13. 300 rds of WW 125 GR Silvertip 38 Super. $200. They are marked +P but they are not. They were marked +P as SAAMI wanted to make sure they were not used in the lower pressure 38 Auto. Believe me or not. No shipping on this. Will meet up to 50 miles from Tom's River. First "I'll take it" gets it.
  14. Janet Reno was the epitome of the logic the left uses when it comes to "gun safety". After Columbine she stated at a press conference we need more gun laws. A reporter got to ask her what does she say to those that say we should just enforce the laws we have. Her response? "It doesn't make a difference if we don't enforce them, we just need more laws" This from the Attorney General of the US.
  15. Agree with @JC_68Westy. I will add another perspective. +P ammunition has been made by the major manufacturers since the 1970s. Super Vel was making +P back in the 60s. Using +P will accelerate wear on a gun even if its +P rated. On the other hand I know people who have shot 1000s of rounds of +P through guns not rated for it and have had no problem. +P will give you more muzzle blast, recoil, and therefore reduced controllability in a small frame gun. Along with accelerated wear. For that you get MAYBE 50-100 fps more. For a long time I've used a target velocity148 gr hollowbase wadcutter as a defensive load in small frame 38s. It has several advantages: 1. The bullet is already in an efficient shape. A hollowpoint has to expand a bit until it gets in the shape the wadcutter starts out as. 2. Adequate penetration. The hollow base design goes a long way toward keeping the bullet from tumbling in the target. That's how it gets good penetration even though it's starting out at only 700-725 fps from the muzzle with a 2" barrel. Gets about 14" of penetration in ballistic gel which is adequate. 3. It is easy on you and your gun. Low recoil and muzzle blast help controllability you need for subsequent shots. FWIW Jim Cirillo who had been in more gunfights than most people was always on a quest for a better bullet. Most of his designs looked like...a wadcutter. I use +P in k frame or larger 38s and +P+ in 357 magnums. If I want more power I'll go to a bigger gun. I see no sense in +P in semiautomatic calibers. Semiautomatics are designed to operate in a certain pressure range. I've seen tests, conducted by the manufacturers, which show their +P version of the same bullet going 50-100 fps more gave little more penetration or expansion, if any, than their standard pressure ammo. Food for thought.

    THE SHADOW

I remember "watching the radio" for The Shadow back in the 50s. Also listened to The Lone Ranger. The art of the radio play is gone.
  17. So why do you say, "this does nothing about exigent circumstances". I'm unsure you understand exceptions for exigent circumstances. You mention earlier , "Don't expect them to ever give up exigent circumstances". Do you think that's a bad thing?
  18. Your prior statement seems to lump red flag orders, shit tier warrants, and exigent circumstances into the same boat. You go on to mention police getting a warrant to harass someone.
  19. No it doesn't cover exigent circumstances. There was none there when the police arrived and saw the guy alive and well. Shit grade warrants? I've never seen any warrant that wasn't contested to some degree. Of those that were contested maybe 95% of them were settled in the judge's chambers and of those that went to formal hearing 90% of those found the warrant valid. That's less than 1/2 percent not valid. You also need to understand judges look after their careers too. A judge authorizes 100 warrants and 70 or 80 of them are ruled not valid. That's not a way to work your way up the judge ladder. Same way if LEOs make bum arrests. Doesn't help their career. IANAL but I beat one judge on a speeding ticket before I was a LEO. I beat him on court rules. That's another story. IANAL but I have guided young prosecutors on more than one occasion. You don't understand exigent circumstances. It's not a bad thing. A a LEO walking down the street hears "help me". Maybe people engaged in kinky sex. If that's what it is it's over. You follow a guy (or girl, criminals come from both sexes). They have committed a crime or you a warrant for their arrest.. They go into a dwelling, not theirs, you go in. You're following someone with 10 kilos of heroin. They go into an address with the drugs. Seems like it's the final destination. You pop them. What problem do you have on exigent circumstances? SCOTUS has ruled on examples I've given. Do you believe in the COTUS?
