I did my Utah CCW with GFH 12 years ago. I forget the instructor's name, but he did a great job presenting the volume of information needed while keeping it interesting. Fingerprinting and photos were done during the course as well if I remember correctly. I'm looking forward to the GFH NJ CCW class.

Tack driver out to 200 is good. Man sized out to 500 yds, maneuverable for CQB, and will work when I need it.

I'm building around my optic & mount, because I already have it (Trijicon Accupower 1-8x with an ADM mount). I was going to 18" to get a rifle length gas system in a Nitride barrel. I found a 16" with a rifle gas system, but it's phosphate with a chrome lined barrel. I've decided I need to build a high(er) end SPR. I'm set on: Criterion 18" barrel Geissele Ultra Lower Parts kit Geissele SSP trigger Trijicon Accupower 1-8x with ADM quick detach Everything else is still up in the air. I'm sure someone else will chime in, but my understanding is that some triggers have lightened hammer springs to achieve a lighter trigger pull, which may result in light primer strikes. Hiperfire's design allegedly allows the hammer to hit harder the lighter the springs used.

Is there a budget for the trigger? I just picked up a Geissele SSP, but haven't tried it yet. I do have a Hiperfire Eclipse, and it is the nicest single stage I've fired so far. I'll definitely concede the proprietary parts for a piston system is an issue, and they're heavier than DI system rifles. Check out the BCM below or a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7. If you get the BCM I'd recommend the M-Lok over the Keymod. https://www.bravocompanymfg.com/specification/bcm_recce14_mcmr.php That model is available from BCM and they can permanently attach their compensator on to get it over a 16" barrel. Keep in mind most rifles will need compliance work done to mill off the bayonet lug as well as a compensator or brake purchased to be pinned & welded to the barrel. Both companies would require the stock to be pinned. The FFL you purchase it through will handle that before it's transferred to you. Good luck in your search

Trijicon's prismatic offerings have always been the "clear" winner for my eyes with their ACOGs, VCOGs, & LPVOs. I keep looking a less expensive alternative, but so far I can't find anything that measures up to Trijicon.

To clarify, they're a waste of money. Poor fit, finish, and function. I don't know if it's a quality control problem or design flaw, but most of the Promags I have usually have one issue or more. If you get one, please only use for the range.

I have the PA SLx 1x microprism. Great optic for the money. The GLX 2x is fantastic as well. Both work great for my astigmatism. I got a deal on the UH-1 and I'm glad I tried it. It's the only holographic sight I have tried that works with the astigmatism. Good luck with your search!
