  1. And I thought this state was going to get a little better for gun owners when NJ removed justifiable need without being forced. Shame on me.
  2. I did my Utah CCW with GFH 12 years ago. I forget the instructor's name, but he did a great job presenting the volume of information needed while keeping it interesting. Fingerprinting and photos were done during the course as well if I remember correctly. I'm looking forward to the GFH NJ CCW class.
  3. Those people need to trip into a wood chipper.
  4. I have those as well. They're great for using in mag pouches.
  5. Tack driver out to 200 is good. Man sized out to 500 yds, maneuverable for CQB, and will work when I need it.
  6. I'm building around my optic & mount, because I already have it (Trijicon Accupower 1-8x with an ADM mount). I was going to 18" to get a rifle length gas system in a Nitride barrel. I found a 16" with a rifle gas system, but it's phosphate with a chrome lined barrel. I'm not a big fan of phosphate and I don't want a stainless finish. 18" Rifle Length (Nitride) https://criterionbarrels.com/products/ar-15/ar-15-core-series-rifle-gas/?v=7516fd43adaa 16" mid-length (Nitride) https://criterionbarrels.com/products/ar-15/ar-15-hybrid-barrel-mid-length-gas-nitride/?v=7516fd43adaa 16 Gas length (phosphate CL) https://criterionbarrels.com/products/ar-15/ar-15-hybrid-barrel-rifle-gas-chrome-lined/?v=7516fd43adaa These are the barrels I'm looking at. If I'm going mid-length should I go 14.5" and pin Weld the comp on?
  7. It's getting an ACE Skeleton stock as well.
  8. I love the Three Amigos. The singing cactus.
  9. I have a SSA-E. It's okay. SSP will be better. Plus I already purchased it.
  10. I have a plethora of 69-79gr match bullets that need to be loaded.
  11. Chambered for .223 Wylde.
  12. I've decided I need to build a high(er) end SPR. I'm set on: Criterion 18" barrel Geissele Ultra Lower Parts kit Geissele SSP trigger Trijicon Accupower 1-8x with ADM quick detach Everything else is still up in the air. I was thinking of getting a Cerakote SLR Rifleworks builder set (Upper, Lower, and rail). https://slrrifleworks.com/slr-b56-builders-set-cerakote/ Open to other suggestions from those that have already been down this road.
  13. I'm sure someone else will chime in, but my understanding is that some triggers have lightened hammer springs to achieve a lighter trigger pull, which may result in light primer strikes. Hiperfire's design allegedly allows the hammer to hit harder the lighter the springs used.
  14. Is there a budget for the trigger? I just picked up a Geissele SSP, but haven't tried it yet. I do have a Hiperfire Eclipse, and it is the nicest single stage I've fired so far. It has an adjustable trigger pull, and it hits harder with the lighter springs in. https://www.hiperfire.com/product/hipertouchecl/
  15. I recommend sending an email to the one with the podcast (I'm not going to call him out here). Perhaps he will address it on his show?
  16. https://shows.cadence13.com/podcast/gangster-capitalism/season/2 That podcast goes into the shady dealings of Wayne Lapierre and his crony board members. It's definitely worth a listen and perhaps someone more eloquent than I can summarize it. @Mrs. Peel
  17. Only 1 board member voted to remove him, and it wasn't either one from NJ.... Not sure if it passed, but the NRA was attempting to amend the bylaws to prevent board members from attempting to remove Wayne without "good cause". Sounds like our carry laws, doesn't it? https://www.anjrpc.org/page/NRABylawAmendments/NRA-Voting-Members-Important-Bylaw-Amendments-Coming.htm Here are the key proposed changes: • Amendments to Article IX’s recall election process ensure voting members’ choices are respected, by improving the fairness of the removal process for officers and directors. Specifically: Allowing removal only for good cause, such as violating the Bylaws or disrupting NRA operations. Allowing dismissal of frivolous or malicious recall petitions designed to harm your NRA, with fair appeals for everyone involved. Candidate petitions would require at least as many signatures as 0.5% of the valid ballots cast the previous year. Based on typical turnouts, this approximates 500 to 750 signatures—not a high hurdle in the Internet age. Recall petitions would require at least as many signatures as 5% of the valid ballots cast the previous year. The higher requirement for recall petitions ensures that the will of tens of thousands of voting members can’t be reversed without broad support. (The NRA Bylaws already allow for the expulsion or other punishment of directors and officers for good cause through ethics hearings.) Similarly, the 5% requirement for Bylaw amendments proposed by members ensures that the NRA’s fundamental rules can’t be changed without broad support of the membership.
  18. I'll definitely concede the proprietary parts for a piston system is an issue, and they're heavier than DI system rifles. Check out the BCM below or a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7. If you get the BCM I'd recommend the M-Lok over the Keymod. https://www.bravocompanymfg.com/specification/bcm_recce14_mcmr.php That model is available from BCM and they can permanently attach their compensator on to get it over a 16" barrel. Keep in mind most rifles will need compliance work done to mill off the bayonet lug as well as a compensator or brake purchased to be pinned & welded to the barrel. Both companies would require the stock to be pinned. The FFL you purchase it through will handle that before it's transferred to you. Good luck in your search
  19. You didn't play within the parameters. If the zombies come it's game on. Maglite suppressors and lightning links. Long stroke piston wins reliability. DI is better if you maintain it. More accurate for sure.
  20. https://www.primaryweapons.com/mk116-pro-rifle $1350 for a piston AR rifle. That's where my money would go.
  21. Trijicon's prismatic offerings have always been the "clear" winner for my eyes with their ACOGs, VCOGs, & LPVOs. I keep looking a less expensive alternative, but so far I can't find anything that measures up to Trijicon.

To clarify, they're a waste of money. Poor fit, finish, and function. I don't know if it's a quality control problem or design flaw, but most of the Promags I have usually have one issue or more. If you get one, please only use for the range.
  23. I have the PA SLx 1x microprism. Great optic for the money. The GLX 2x is fantastic as well. Both work great for my astigmatism. I got a deal on the UH-1 and I'm glad I tried it. It's the only holographic sight I have tried that works with the astigmatism. Good luck with your search!
