  1. Scott. I don't know how much you know about shotguns so if you have knowlege disregard this message. Most shotguns hold more then 2 + 1 but have a block in the magazine tube limitin them to 2 + 1. Your shotgun will probably hold more with the removal of this item. For CD shotguns unscrew the barrel retaining nut at the end of the mag tube, as if you were goon to remove the barrel. There is a black plastic ribbed piece that pushes into the magazine tube and rotates then it can be pulled out, it is under tentiom form the mag spring and always ensure the gun is unloaded. Once this is out you will see a grey plastic stick inside the spring. Remove this thing and put the gun back together you should now have increased mag capacity.
  2. Scott: I have the field tactical in 12 ga. It has an 18.5 inch barrel and holds 5+1 in 2 3/4 inch shells.
  3. Agreed. But people love to see the drauma and the backstabbing.
  4. I recently purchased a CD tactical - different model then yours. I have had it at three different 3 gun shoots and done some clay and paper shooting with it. I have put low recoil bird shot and 3 " buck and slugs through it and many things between. I have not had any problems with it. No malfunctions and the sights are right on. I'm very happy with my purchase. I hope you will be as well.
  5. Awesome. Where do I get one, or two?

    Is this CD good?

I believe NJ forbids semi auto shotguns with pistol grips. I have a pump CD 12 ga and have used it in 3 different 3 gun shoots and had it out doing some paper targets and clays. I have not had any problems with it. CD is out of business or going out of business. There are very few after market items for the shotguns.
  7. After my experience with Taurus and the fact that a friend of mine has a Rossi rifle with no problems, I'd give them a shot. I was talking with my wife about these rifles and I'm thinkng about the rifle withthe interchangeable barrels and going with a shotgun, muzzleloader and a rifle.
  8. It does have a 27 round mag. Do you think there will be 15 round NJ mags soon? The older commercial does bring back memories.
  9. It's a good gun and will serve you well for a lifetime. Congrats.
  10. I had the same problem with my 92, I brought the stripped lower to my local hardware store and they helped me find a replacment. I replaced all the screws to the same style for less then numrich wanted for a single screw and I didn't have to pay and wait for shipping. I walked into the store empty handed and spoke to the manager. When I explained the gun was disassmbled and that I didn't ever bring the slide or barrel with me he had no problem with me bringing the lower in the store.
  11. It never....It never.....It never....It never....It never b-b-b-b-bothered me me me.
  12. Since my son was born shooting has become second to spending time with him and my wife. Above everything else.
  13. I have Plans. I have fire plans, power outage plans, hurricane evacuation plans and I have home invasion plans. My wife and I tall about these plans and practice our emergency plans. In the case of a home invasion I grab the shotgun and she gets a handgun and the phone. We both proceed to our sons room and ensure it is clear and he is safe. My wife will then call 911 and lock herself and our son in his room. I believe in making an announcement "I have a gun, I will kill you, the police are on their way!" this is playing the odds, most home intruders will leave at the mention of a gun and/or the police. Like you my house is a small rancher, 1,100 square feet. There is little mystery as where I would be so I'm not concerned about giving away my location, I would rather state my intention. At this point I'll slowly clear the house. My wife and I have a safe word, if she does not hear it and someone touches the door she is to fire through the door and await the police. She knows to tell th police there are armed individuals breaking into the house. She will tell them her location and tell them not to touch the door, she will stay on the phone with the police until the identity of the police are confirmed and she will describe me and tell the police not to shoot me. If there is a threat I will hopefully chase it away or eliminate it. If I am hurt/killed at least my wife and son will be sewhat safe.
  14. 2 to the chest, 1 to the head. F'em.
  15. Thats the idea so far, looking more like the 25th, we can always move it to August if need be.. does this work for you? I work every other weekend, July 25th is my weekend to work. I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it either way but if it does go down a different day I'll try.
  16. HP .357 Magnum for the Revolver and 00 Buck for the shotgun.
  17. I use ammo cans and dump everything into them. I try to get bulk ammo when I can and it all goes into a can. The exceptions being non target rounds, they stay in the original box and my 308 ammo. I have a long range target rifle and I keep the ammo in it's boxes and try to get the same manufacturer and lot number when possible (I have shot 2" groups at 300 yards with this rifle and I like to adjust the scope as little as possible).
  18. I'd like to do everything on the move. Start at rifle table, engage targets while moving to shotgun table, put down rifle pick up shotgun and move to handgun stage while shooting the shotgun. Put shorty down and draw loaded gun from holster and complete the COF. But that's just my 2 cents.
  19. I have a hard time feeling bad over this. The boarder is not a place to be playing around and being in an area where tensions are high then assulting an armed agent. This sounds like an example of darwinism at it's finest. They should stay in their country and throw rocks at their own agents, let's see if the results would be different. I too did stupid things to police when I was a kid, but I didn't cross a country boarder to do it.
  20. My wife has shot my 9mm, 22 cal, 38, 357, and 45's. She likes the 45's. The recoil is not an issue.
  21. I would be interested, if I have enough notice I will ensure I'm off that day. I have 12, 20 and 410 gauge shotguns and I'm happy to share.
  22. Redfield. Now owned by Leupold. Same product with a different name and a third of the price.
  23. I don't have full access to websites at work, but try history.com and look for top shot under shows. I don't know if it's available to wtch.
