  1. Found it, it's the Mt. Laurel Telegram, not telegraph: http://mtlaurel.elauwitmedia.com/2010/12/14/family-speaks-out-in-gun-case/ The relevant part of the article to this discussion:
  2. Anyone got a link to the Mt. Laurel Telegraph article in question, or can paste the text here?
  3. As much of a premium as they charge on their stuff, you'd figure they could afford some better editing. No complaints on the model though!

    Glocks or XD's

Glock - when it absolutely, positively, has to go bang with a pull of the trigger.
  5. Doesn't really fit in most bags but I try to keep this in whatever car I'm driving: Stanley Xtreme Fubar:
  6. I bet he's spitting white-hot nails... We'll see if the BATFE changes their opinion on this one too.
  7. You're on Old School (actually it's "Doug", not "Dan"), I'd be happy to be schooled in how to make mine reliable. You got time in the near future? Cleaning - cleaned the barrel after the two times I fired it, but nothing more than that. Frankly, I was so disappointed in it the two times I tried it that I lost interest in it and relegated it to the back of the safe.
  8. http://slidefiresolutions.com/Products.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcUHhVmYSmQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6v7fuF1F0s Interesting, wonder if it would be a "collapsible stock" under NJ's view. Not sure what ranges would allow it or if I'd want to deal with all the negative attention when firing it.
  9. I have one, may be an older model than the one pictured - it looks like there's some slight design changes in the stock and a change of some materials, but the break down is the same. Crude is the word I'd use as well. Mine won't cycle/eject reliably but I admittedly haven't spent much time futzing with it.
  10. Well done Bob. I wonder if your emails preceded mine...
  11. Here's the contact info of the person I dealt with and their latest email to me after I forwarded them my original order receipt email: [email protected]
  12. Called customer service this morning - talked to a real live person, they gave me their email address and asked that I forward my original order confirm email to them. They said they would issue a credit after reviewing if the confirm email was legit. Nothing further at the moment.
  13. Thanks for the heads up, just checked: -My email order receipt shows a total of $81.97 -The packing slip that arrived with the shipment shows $101.97 -My credit card statement shows a charge of $101.97. Tried calling them just now, cust. svc. is closed. Will follow up tomorrow.
  14. Thanks for sharing! That's roughly the same price as Cabela's recent sale, but I prefer the Gander Packaging of 100/box - less effort to get at the ammo and less trash. 5 boxes on the way..
  15. Interesting reading on Jury Nullification, including a case where a juror was charged with contempt of court: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2899/whats-the-story-on-jury-nullification
  16. Frankly this is what initially struck me as disingenuous about the "Free Brian" campaign. The claims that "He broke no laws" and "had researched NJ law" along with apparent silence from the campaign as to whether or not he had high capacity magazines when searched led me to suspect that they were hiding facts of the case. The illegality of magazines holding more than 15 rounds is one aspect of NJ firearms law that is relatively clear and shouldn't require close study of the law. However, now that turbofire pointed out the following (and I just read Nappen's summary of facts which I had not read before)... ...I'm no longer suspect about putting my support behind this. It is a miscarriage of justice in regards to the handgun possession. I will be at the rally on the 12th.
  17. Got mine in too, although the packing box was falling apart and the contents plainly visible...
  18. Congrats, hope it performs well at the range.
  19. A friend recently became a member of the Cherry Ridge range and invited me out a couple of weekends ago. Loved the place, awesome range. It was the first time I had my AR on a range where I could shoot beyond ~25 yards. Neither one of us have any magnifying optics; when shooting at cardboard at 50 and 100 yards I just could not reliably see where the shots were landing. Would like to get a spotting scope or a set of binoculars for next time I go out. Don't need anything fancy, just enough magnification and clarity to tell where .223 holes are appearing on cardboard at 50 and 100 yards. Any recommendations? Cabela's has a Simmons spotting scope for $50 (http://www.cabelas.com/product/Simmons-20-60x60-Spotting-Scope/753486.uts) but the reviews are a less than inspiring. Am I wasting my time looking at spotting scopes or binoculars under $100?
  20. I stand corrected, the law does not require a locked case. I gotta stop reading those NJSP "guidelines" as law. If I ever was the "victim" of an over-zealous police officer stopping me and charging with me a weapons law violation while transporting in my car (say, like the Brian Aitken case), I would hate to have to argue to a jury how a gunsock is equivalent to "...closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package...", but that's just me. A case or bag with a lock on it removes any doubt that I'm in compliance with the transportation provision of the law IMO.
