  1. It's back. Been back for a while. OBRAMS is what you seek: https://www.obrpc.org/rimfire-action-obrams
  2. Thanks for the tag, but can't make this upcoming weekend. Keep me "in the loop" though, I haven't gotten the Turk shorty o/u out of the safe in....too long.
  3. I've heard that you need to call at exactly 07:30 AM on weekdays to have any chance of reaching a live rep or scheduling a call back.
  4. I'm starting to carry regularly and I'm looking for advice in 2 areas: 1 - I carry AIWB. My "sweet spot" for concealment without printing through T-shirts is right about 1:30 (12:00 being my front centerline). However, this position puts the lower edge of my kydex holsters right into the crease where my thigh meets my hip. It's really getting uncomfortable and raw in that area between driving and sitting, so I need to do something. I've been considering something along the lines of gluing a fold of moleskin over the lower edge of the holster, or stretching a sock or similar over the bottom half of the holster. Any other ideas? 2 - A car lockbox. I've been looking around and haven't found what I want yet. My criteria: - Has to have a "stout" cable (something that can't be snipped with a common hand tool like a big wire cutters or linesman pliers) - No electronic anything - No biometrics, no electronic touchpad etc. All mechanisms have to be purely mechanical - I'd *REALLY* like it to have a simplex-type pushbutton lock that I can operate in the dark/by feel - Big enough to fit a Glock 19 with Optic in a holster and an extra mag - Narrow enough to fit completely under my car seat (I need to measure to find out exactly how much height I have). Any suggestions for my criteria?
  5. And here's the PDF for Siegel v. Platkin: SiegelAppealResponse20230530.pdf And here's the PDF for Koons v. Platkin: KoonsAppealResponse20230530.pdf
  6. I'm curious why Nappen is choosing this moment to blow this up. This has been law for >4 years now. I'm guessing it's either part of some strategy for a new suit, or he's trying to drum up business and attention. "We" (the forum) previously discussed this 3 years ago here:
  7. “And we will never be able to carry in NJ in our lifetimes.”
  8. Wasn't missed, IMO. Many were aware of this as soon as the "ghost gun" law passed. AFAIK NJ hasn't been prioritizing prosecuting "improperly serialed" firearms outside of ghost guns and I haven't heard of anyone outside of a "ghost gun" maker being prosecuted for it. I don't expect this to be law for much longer (say 2-3 years), because the "ghost gun" law is going to be challenged once some of the lower hanging fruit (AWB/Mag limits) litigation is resolved.
  9. NJ AG Platkin is whining: https://www.nj.com/news/2023/05/njs-appeals-ruling-that-dismantled-conceal-gun-carry-restrictions.html Non-paywalled archive.ph link: https://archive.ph/Rc24N#selection-191.1-195.224 Good.
  10. [whoops, wrong thread]
  11. Bill didn't pass the legislative process last year. Unless it's reintroduced AND passes the NJ Legislature AND Murphy signs it it won't take effect ever.
  12. Also, SCOTUS previously declined to intervene. If it continues to be stalled in 2nd cir appeals that may change.
  13. My understanding is that it's sitting on the 2nd circuit court of appeals docket waiting for a hearing date to be scheduled. Supposedly it is "expedited", which means a hearing date could between 2 months up to a year away. You can follow case filings here: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/66674530/antonyuk-v-hochul/?filed_after=&filed_before=&entry_gte=&entry_lte=&order_by=desc
  14. 3rd circuit has requested responses to NJ's emergency request for a stay: Somewhat encouraging. In the 7th circuit, they issued a stay of the PI in Illinois' AWB immediately without asking for responses. Looks like we get to continue carrying until at least 05/30...
  15. NJ filed its appeal to the 3rd circuit last night in attempt to reverse the Preliminary Injunction: Emergency Motion for Stay Pending Appeal: https://assets.nationbuilder.com/firearmspolicycoalition/pages/6681/attachments/original/1684805839/Koons_v_Platkin_Motion_for_Stay_Pending_Appeal.pdf?1684805839 Uncontested Motion to Expedite Appeal: https://assets.nationbuilder.com/firearmspolicycoalition/pages/6681/attachments/original/1684803483/Koons_v_Platkin_Motion_to_Expedite.pdf?1684803483
  16. NJ (D) legislators will never admit they were wrong: https://newjerseyglobe.com/gun-control/after-adverse-ruling-scutari-says-he-still-believes-concealed-carry-law-is-solid-and-constitutional/
  17. ANJRPC has released an analysis of the Bumb PI: https://www.anjrpc.org/page/LegalAnalysisOfRecentCarryDecision
  18. Putting thumb pressure on it resists movement of the trigger bar, but can't be guaranteed to STOP movement of the trigger. It depends on how much pressure is being applied to the trigger - If you're forcing the handgun into the holster with your entire arm and something snags the trigger, your thumb alone is likely not going to be strong enough to stop the trigger from actuating. I'd say it's really more of a tactile warning - if you feel that plate moving while you're holstering then it's time to STOP and see what's going on.
  19. Big plus one for these. I bought 2 back when they were a kickstarter project, still have it on my carry glock. Gives direct tactile feedback that the trigger is not being engaged when holstering.
  20. And away we go to the 3rd circuit!: Siegel-V-Platkin_notice_of_appeal-3rd-cir.pdf
  21. My emphasis added. This is worse. Under the TRO, you didn't need permission to carry into someone's home. Under the PI, it appears you do. So now if you're "out and about" and need to stop at someone's house that you don't have prior permission for, you'll need to "de-gun" before entering their property.
