  1. My 6.5CM RPR with Nightforce scope will hit 1000 no sweat. Unfortunately Ive only been to a range that size once. If people want to plan a meet up somewhere I would be game. You're co worker would be welcome to try out my rifle.
  2. Looks awesome. How does it shoot? Thoughts on the 4 prong?
  3. Yea I’m in the same boat. Best bet is find a buddy that has one. I just swing by Mike at Tier 1 to have him do it. In and out in 5 min.
  4. Cant go wrong with Mike. Hes assembled multiple uppers for me. Everything came out perfect
  5. Yea I really like the Holosun stuff too. No problems picking up the reticle with differing backdrops? In the ways of ARFCOM, maybe Ill get both!
  6. How do you like the green reticle? Been thinking about getting one for my build but I have never used one so Im hesitant
  7. No he's saying that if you switch, make sure your new part is in hand so you can swap immediately. Dont be taking the gun out in public in unfinished form, or have it laying around in unfinished form in the rare event the police raid your home.
  8. Go to the non-nfa build guideline thread and look at the barrel/buffer tube combos. 10.5" is not long enough, even with a A5 buffer tube, to meet 26". Muzzle must be pinned.
  9. A5 with buffer is in stock at SKD. https://www.skdtac.com/VLTOR-A5-Bundle-p/vlt.308.htm
  10. Sweet. See ya there. Hopefully not raining like it did last time we shot together lol
  11. Just signed up for the S&T low light class on Nov 15. Anyone else in it?
  12. That’s the point of getting out there! Are you in the Friday or Saturday low light class? I’ll be in the Friday class
  13. Nice. You definitely won’t be short with the Surefire. Pics when done!
  14. Doing a little fuzzy math, it should get you to just over 27” I know you can pin it to a 13.7” barrel to get to 16” or 16.1” so that giving you 2.3-2.4” in added length on any given barrel. With a 10.5” barrel and stock extension, you are at 24.9” so with a pinned SF, you should be at ~27.2”
  15. I totally agree that the real point to this would be a way to make the guns shorter. An 11.5 will be easier to handle than a 16" without question. I guess I was just pondering the idea for people here who let their smaller framed wives/kids shoot their guns who arent looking to build a shorter gun. You have the flexibility to accommodate different sized shooters. I have my brace in the closet but havent played with it yet so I wasnt aware its fully extended length was that much different than say the fixed magpul carbine stock.
  16. Care to elaborate? Not a rifle because there is no stock. Not a pistol because the VFG necessitates the use of 2 hands Not a AOW because it's over 26". Is there a maximum OAL it cant exceed?
  17. The thought occurred to me- this non-NFA is a great way to get an SBR-like rifle here in NJ but why not build all AR type guns going forward as non-NFA? I get the brace isnt quite as comfortable as some of the stocks out there but you can now build 14.5", 16", 18", etc, ARs as non-NFA and you dont need to worry about any of the NJ AWB rules. Adjustable brace, flash hiders, bayo lugs, and muzzle devices that dont need to be pinned. Or am I missing something?
  18. You will either need to pin the flash hider or use a longer buffer tube (A5 for example) to meet the 26" length requirement. Since the ATF redefined how they measure overall length, a 11.5" barrel is just a bit too short to meet the requirement.
  19. Borris- are you referring to something like this? https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCMGUNFIGHTER-Vertical-Grip-Mod3-1913-Black-p/bcm-vg-1913-mod-3-blk.htm That, or the longer version would be ok. This would not be ok. https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Magpul-AFG2-Angle-Forward-Grip-BLACK-p/mag414 afg2 blk.htm
  20. Thats a solid build. How do you like the warcomp?
  21. As long as you dont put a stock on (prevents it from being a rifle), keep the VFG (meant for 2 handed shooting thus not a pistol), and has an overall length of 26" or greater (not an AOW), you are free to change out what you want
  22. Or use an A5 buffer tube and youll hit length with 11.5" barrel
  23. Ballistic Advantage barrels are good to go. A lot of manufacturers use their barrels in builds.
  24. I think they are just catering to the AR pistol market. But that does go to the larger picture of these manufacturers not being overly concerned about the future of braces. The only place I am seeing any talk of brace regulation has been on gun forums with the only evidence being a tweet from some random lawyer ( who i think deleted it)
