  1. thats a myth. mythbusters did it. cold has no effect on battery life
  2. i know why. and if you dont give a damn about competition, it doesnt make sense to blow $600 on OB does it. im a member at CR. for a plain static range, its absolutely fine. 50/100/200/300 yard rifle range, up to 50yd pistol, skeet range with newly added throwers available for rent, rimfire silhouette range, clubhouse with bathroom and full kitchen available for your use at any time. range closes at sundown, open every day other then major holidays and 2 work weekends a year. weekdays are very empty. nice weather weekends can get somewhat filled from 8-11, but anywhere after 12-1 it empties. check here for updates http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31766-cherry-ridge/
  3. old bridge is extremely expensive, especially if you only go a few times a year. not to mention you are, for some reason, 'required' to participate in several matches and to even watch some before you are a member. cherry ridge is much cheaper and more cost effective if youre just starting out. you come and go as you please, no requirements. join CR first, you wont be sorry.
  4. cherry ridge seems to empty out around 12-1 on weekends. most people leave early, get there from 8-10 to beat the 'crowds', then all tend to leave at the same time. typically every other bench may be filled at 10, but at 1 theres maybe five people on the range.
  5. promags suck. dont even bother trying them
  6. there are a huge amount of members who go a handful of times a year. also many who go only once, then realize its too far a drive or whatever, and dont come back.
  7. dont listen to that statey or any cop for that matter. read the law yourself, and follow that. the springs do NOT need to be cut. the mag has to be 'permanently altered.' whether that means a rivet drilled in, a block placed and pinned/glued/welded, or something else, it doesnt matter
  8. no. their shipping is no more then any other place
  9. try towing to millville on the pike. $20 each way
  10. CTD started that with the new year. i think you only have to do it once, but since you have to do it, keep a copy saved on your hard drive to email again if needed.
  11. it never said 'forcibly quartering 10 troops'. the article said 10 troops ON THE ROOF....meaning manning guns/SAMS. i highly, highly doubt theyll suddenly have an armed squad bunking in their living room during the olympics.
  12. get a blackhawk single point sling adapter and use whatever single point you like
  13. a large run of compacts (aka type L) was recently imported/produced again, as of ~10 months ago. check local shops or online if you want one. much harder to find are the type Ms, a single stack compact.
  14. make a will, first thing, if youre worried. ive gone through family drama and bs because of deaths and wills. the only way to protect your belongings is to make a clear, legal, definite will. add/change it regularly as needed.
  15. join here http://www.berettaforum.net/vb/ and check the classifieds. used berettas of all kinds are up every day
  16. 1. beretta is one gun that id never buy a clone of. ive been a beretta man since i first got my 92 in 1993. used 92FS's can be found for 5-550, some even lower. police trade ins are also a very good option. lots of finish wear, but typically shot very, very little. 2. the only 'shorter barrel' guns were the centurian, which is a shorter barrel and slide on a full size frame, and the elite, which was a full size gun with a barrel flush to the slide, maybe 1/2in shorter. primarily an aesthetic difference. 3. carry is entirely personal. 100% dependent on your body type, shape, and comfort. im 6'1, 175 at most, with absolutely no gut. ive carried my 92 in appendix, with nothing but shorts and a t-shirt to cover it. that includes a total of 3hrs driving while carrying. it never printed, and was plenty comfortable all day long. obviously, if you have any kind of gut, appendix wont work. you have to try out holsters/positions first.
  17. playing gun games and actual combat are two completely different things. you cant compare standing still or running around a fake hallway shooting at nothing but paper or steel to having real humans firing real bullets at you. how do you know jerry wouldnt piss his pants if someone actually shot at him. personally, id stake my union brother josh (iraq vet, ranger, sniper qualified) in a gunfight over 10 jerry miculek.
  18. i have it. works perfectly. easy to operate

  20. most big name brand RDS are made to co-witness with standard height AR sights. there are typically low, med, and high mounts. all of which should still be useable with irons. all that changes is where the co-witness is: lower third, middle, or upper third.
  21. strange. the only thing im going to hear during a zombocalypse is vera
  22. the one thing that gives me hope with the fight against the anti-gun asshyles is the realization that we, living in a communist police state, have a skewed vision of what can or cant happen with major gun law changes. to us, it is a VERY real possibility that one day we can wake up to a swat team at our door, with a list of gun serial #s and an open bag to put them in. but to those lucky enough to live in America, that is a reality that can and will never happen. Remember the big stink over hi-cap mags after the arizona representative shooting. they were going to enforce another mag restriction.......yet i remember reading on other boards from people in arizona saying 'itll never happen....the governor/rep/congressman/etc will never allow it, theyre pro 2A." and nothing happened. the vast majority of the state are still in America....43 or so. to them, the 2A is a way of life, a right that literally stands next to freedom of speech, and will never be infringed upon. yet to us unlucky bastards in the communist police states, we have no true 2A right.
  23. i just ordered pistol ammo from natchez. nothing new, no FID or license needed
