  1. whats the difference in the twist? slower is better for heavier bullets, ive read.....i dont plan on shooting many heavy rounds, just the usual 55gr and such.
  2. theres always the north jersey one on the 29th if you cant make this one. might have better food, being at the fiesta.
  3. with all the different manufacturers and options, this gets more confusing then buying performance car parts. im looking to change around my bushmaster. id like a 16in, light weight chromed barrel, flattop. as far as the twist ratio.....whats best or ideal? i dont target shoot, just fun/plink/zombie killing. what is the best price around? are any offered with the AK compensator? i have that on my bushmaster now, and its said its the best comp. around. its not a deal breaker though, as ive only seen it offered with an HBAR. mine is also an HBAR, and id like to lose some weight with a light barrel.
  4. i wouldnt call it hoarding either. more buying it when its cheap, and just saving it. luckily, around 15+ years ago when i first got my beretta, my father stocked up on 9mm, thinking we'll start reloading. of course never did, but the house wound up with several bricks of 22, cases of 9mm and 38, plus at least 2000 rnds of reloaded 9mm. i had to find all this the hard way, after i went and bought new boxes of 9mm. ammo is one of the things that just doesnt go bad, so you can stock up on it when you find a deal. i wish i could have done the same with gas, when it was down to $1.30 a few months ago.
  5. i saw that. it was with the bald guy, used to be a seal sniper. ultimate weapons? something like that. it was also buried in sand, taken out, shook off and fired 100%. as much as i love the M16 platform, the rest of the world has already gone to some kind of bullpup design. why dont we?
  6. so why dont the real ROs do something about him, if hes a nuisance and potential danger.
  7. keeping his train of thought going, i would mag safes and/or hydra shoks, with either 00,000, or 4 buck in the 12, whichever i feel like using at the time. i havent researched, but is NJ a state with the 'equal force' law?
  8. so he doesnt even work there? hes just a member who acts like that?
  9. another arrogant a$$hole who got pushed around his entire life, so when he finally gave up on working and retired, he sucked into a position which gives him the slightest feeling of power over another individual, and abuses it like his wife abuses him at home? i know the type.
  10. they dont allow it yet they sell it? yeah...... ive used it there. im not scared. ive posted a thread about wolf in my AR. it doesnt like it. 8 FTEs in 150rnds. ive used wolf pistol in several calibers, with no problems. the silver/golden bear is better quality, and the same price. i havent shot it yet, but going to try that in the AR next time.
  11. whats this douche look like. i just rejoined after a 20yr break, and id like to keep an eye out for him.
  12. my father got a TZ-75 from maine, back when anyone could walk in off the street and just buy a pistol. i know is an italian knock-off, made my tanfalgio or something. anyone else have or used one of them? i doubt this gun has 200rnds through it, bought at least 15yrs ago.
  13. believe me i know exactly what an M1 carbine is, and where the term 'carbine' actually came from. what i never heard of is why would it be banned. it is a full rifle after all, and i know someone who has had one for many years. the folding stock version, as stupid as the reason, i can see why that would be 'banned'. but a regular full stock?
  14. OP: what did that light cost you? ive had my USP 40 since 92 or 93. i like it, but my glock feels better in my hand, especially with the wraparound grip sleeve. theres something about the backstrap that tends to slide when im holding it. FYI: i have a never used, brand new desantis leather holster for the USP i can let go if someone wants it bad enough.
  15. why are M1 carbines illegal? are you talking the folding stock version?
  16. i never liked 1911s. out of the box theyre overrated. theyre heavy, grip is too slim, and limited ammo cap. ill take my beretta and glock over a 1911 any day when the zombies attack. the only reason i bought a GI 45 is because im a WWII buff, and wanted something close to the real thing. if hell freezes over and a CCW ever gets passed in NJ, a 1911 would be the last thing id carry.
  17. cheaper then dirt is still bone dry of nearly any and all pistol ammo.
  18. when and what course. i was looking at the lifetime membership, but their deal already expired.
  19. this one is oct. 29 at the fiesta in woodridge
  20. I've been getting alot of emails from this place. has anyone ever taken one of their courses? they have a 'special' for their 30 state carry permit and i think 2 day course. theyre all the way out in nevada, so either driving there or shipping guns on planes is needed. neither of which i want to do, but being laid off for so long, this might be a good time killer. they sound like a legit business, but has anyone else had personal experience with them? is it worth the money?
  21. plus anything other then single shot means 'automatic' or 'fully automatic'.
  22. beretta hands down. ive had both for 15yrs or so. my beretta fits like a dream, and i think its the most beautiful pistol ever made. and yet, as rugged as she is pretty. my HP is the 2 tone, black over silver with the factory rubber wrap around hogue grip. great gun, still, but a little small for my hand. not to mention its very hard to find quality mags for the browning. you can find factory or factory quality beretta mags much, much cheaper.
  23. beretta 92FS with hogue finger mold grips. fits like it was made from a mold of my hand.
  24. i got some golden bear from CTD. the reviews said its a better round then wold, no jams, better quality, and nearly the same price. ill try them next time out.
