  1. I think the PO showed too much restraint. If some one did that to my daughter I think the crowd would have had a hard time pulling me off the scumbag.
  2. When I buy new range ammo I usually make the trip to East Stroudsberg Pa. There is enough of a savings at the wally world to make the trip. Last time I checked the the best I saw in NJ was ~16 bucks for 50 9mm. get for 12 in PA.
  3. That's the problem with this state, for a large portion of the population schools are 100% responsible for educating and maturing our children. When parents don't take an active interest in what there kids learn, all the kids know is what the system tells them. And yes I have a nine yr old daughter, and I vote NO.
  4. +1 for not buying it. There is no way a 40 casing can get in a small primer pocket to set off a round. Never mind that ejected brass just doesn't have the energy to set a primer off.

    Carbon build up

Where you shooting 38 special out of the 686? If so that crud is a PITA to get out. Someone suggested taking a spent 357 brass case and flaring the end with a press so it just fits in the cylinder and using it to scrape out the crud. Seems to work for me. I then follow it up with couple of passes with a lead removal cloth and that finishes the job.
  6. The Law for transport: Shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances. The firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console. If a cop sees your gun (versus opening sealed containers), you are not transporting it legally and should face the consequences.
  7. Like KD said those 2 case present probable cause. However if you are LEGALLY transporting a firearm, there is no way the LEO will know about it unless you bring it up so don't. I've been pulled over 6 times in 25+ years of driving and have never been asked to look in the trunk.
  8. First: Drive extra careful with firearms in car. Give them no reason to pull you over. Second: Don't mention the firearms and they don't exist, as they have nothing to do with the stop Third: "No you do not have permission to search the car"
  9. The 2 mom's put the kid in the "awkward" position. They want special treatment and are trying to use the kid as a tool.
  10. My 0.02 I have absolutely no problem with LE when that is what they are doing jobs to make people safer. When our pinhead politicians keep coming up with ways to make LE a source of income, that's when I have a problem.
  11. I like the standard. My 0.02, the finger grooves change the feel of the grip too much for me.
  12. "MRFF has received numerous messages from troops deployed in Afghanistan complaining that the Gospel inscriptions on Trijicon rifle scopes place them at added risk " Must be nothing better to complain about. By this I don't mean the troops, I mean Mikey. A cryptic code in letters 1/8 of an inch high is not a gospel inscriptions.

    Handgun Storage

For my hand guns, I have a small safe (interior 16x16x16) with a shelf. To keep them from banging together I keep each in a Bore store. Just wondering what everyone else does.
  14. Nice, Should have plenty of room. Couple of suggestions. 1. Put a backsplash on it. When things roll off the back of the bench it is a PITA to find them. 2. Put a power strip on the bench, I use it for all sorts of things such as a tumbler and powder scale.
  15. Can you give us an update when they get back to you so maybe we will be able to make some sense of this P.O.S. Law? Thanks
  16. Was down at Shore Shot picking up my latest acquisition today. (Sig P220 Stainless Elite ) and looked behind the counter and got a surprise. They have Federal large pistol primers for 35 /1000. Seemed to have around 5-7 thousand of them
  17. Nice Score How did you get out with that many boxes?
  18. This is not a dig against Dunkelberger's, I shop there for gun accessories but not for a gun. They got caught up in Bloomberg's sting operation. SO instead of a long legal battle with Mayor deep pockets, they settled video all gun sales and Bloomberg gets a copy. http://www.nyc.gov/portal/site/nycgov/m ... 1194&ndi=1
  19. If you are intereseted in a fairly large selection of handguns, Shoreshot has the most I've seen. They don't have a lot of room but each of the 4 display cases has at least 20 handguns in them. If you go to the vendors links, there is a Facebook link with pictures of the cases. Firearms Guild in Rahway has a lot more display cases but only like 6 per case. Cheyenne also packs a lot of handguns in to the 3 maybe 4 cases they have.
  20. Need to show for any ammo that CAN be used in a handgun. Need Id for 22lr also.
  21. Were there golf clubs involved? Get better soon.
  22. My 0.02, If you can afford it what difference does it make? Yeah 1 or 2 are fine for HD, but what if you just like to shoot various guns? Some days I like to shoot a revolver, some days a 40 auto and somedays just to plink away with a 22. When you get to the point where you are trying to decide to pay the mortgage or buy a new gun, I would say you're probably over your limit.
  23. Any one ever watch "Demolition Man", with the line "Salt was deemed to be bad for you and therefore is illegal". This is what we are coming to. I feel the urge to sing mini tunes.
