  1. You don't have to do any paperwork for the firearms you already own. From what I've heard, if your FPID is more than 2 years old they make you go through the whole ordeal again. Its just NJs way of extorting more money from us.
  2. Recently bought some 100 count WWB .40 from Wally-World and they were packed in 2 - 50 count styrofoam bullet holders not loose like I've had before.
  3. My town also required this to be signed with a PD member as the witness. In the instruction sheet they gave out with the forms they specifically stated that this form was to be witnessed at the PD window.
  4. Some of the makers of "Clean" ammo actually crimp the primers in. Even after the primer comes out you need to remove the crimp before it can be reloaded.
  5. Powder will only burn in the open. In a strong cabinet or safe it will explode when ignited. The wood keeps direct flame away for a period of time and will give instead of exploding.
  6. Maybe not a law, but a store policy. Many places since 2008 have had a policy of limiting how much ammo could be sold to a customer so that they could maintain at least some inventory.
  7. Isn't amazing how saving a few bucks is so expensive.
  8. This is pretty much what I do also. If I get on a roll, I keep my 250 round bulk cardboard boxes and use them to store the whatever doesn't fit in the plastic trays.
  9. If you don't mind my asking, how tall is that thing when attached to the LNL? It seems like it's at least a foot or two higher than the powder measure, and would make putting in brass or clearing a jam a little tough.
  10. Since you said you haven't purchased in a while, Just remember to read around for the One gun a month (OGAM) rules that was passed last June, if you plan on buying more than 1.
  11. Everyone hase either moved out of the state, or has been canned and can not afford to purchase a new gun. Less demand faster response.
  12. To paraphrase: I didn't read your email so I will send you the generic form letter response. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.
  13. Call your PD. Mine didn't even want to do an extension until the week after the permits expired. It's usually not a big deal, took me all of 10 minutes.
  14. Congrats. Is this going to start another round of engagements?
  15. Nice workshop! And nice accessories in the workshop.
  16. The legal answer is no you don't have to carry it. The practical answer is that if for some reason a cop sees the gun, it can help to avoid issues. Such as if on the way home from the range, you are in an accident that disables your car and you need to be taken to a hospital. The cop then knows you have legal possession of that firearm. Other than that, I see no reason a cop would see a gun that is being legally transported.
  17. +1 You look out don't know who it is, and you don't feel right about it, screw em let them stand at the door all night. No law says you have to answer the door.
  18. Had none of any kind on Tuesday.
  19. Howdy, Look around the forum for info on the FPID/Permiting process. Then get your application in as soon as you can. It will probably take between 3-6 months depending where you live. While you are waiting taking a First Shots or Basic Pistol course would be a great idea. If you look down to the forum supporters there are some NRA certified trainers who offer these courses. The course may not be mandatory, but it will give you a lot of information and a lot more confidence when you go to shoot on your own. Then head down to Shore Shot rent what you think you'll like to try. DO NOT do this on a Saturday!! Things get very busy and its harder to get some help if you have a problem. Let the RO's know that you are new to shooting and they will give you tips and help you to be safe. The RO's are usually very helpful when the place isn't swamped with people. Around here there are no stupid questions. Well usually there are no stupid questions This one went down hill pretty quick. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/19454-thanx-njgf/page__view__findpost__p__256177__hl__pumpkin__fromsearch__1
  20. No its so the state can collect 60 bucks to provide a service that the feds do for 16.
  21. Made it all the way to post #10 before the "You knew it was coming" comments.
  22. Many ranges won't let you shoot steel cased ammo. I heard this has something to do with scrap value of the swept up brass. If there is any steel in the buckets they get a lower rate for the brass.
  23. Realalisticlly NJ is a no issue state. Legally NJ is a MAY issue state so you won't get the Utah license if the law is signed. This is the reason people from NJ don't get Pa's Non resident CCW. Pa has the same get it in your home state first requirement.
