  1. +1 The Sig 226 mags are mecgars. I think I got mine for ~$25 during a midway sale. As for how many, 6 each is a good number for me.
  2. Brownells http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=27930/avs|Make~~Model_1=Beretta__92/Product/HAMMER_SPRING_D_VERSION
  3. He never was coherent, just a drooling idiot. I think his nurse must have had the day off.
  4. Your wife will HATE her commute. She is looking at at LEAST 1 hour each way in heavy stop and go traffic on a good day, nevermind rain, snow accident etc. I used to work in Teterboro and now work in Budd Lake, so I've been stuck the traffic for the last 20 years.
  5. I would love to see one of these two visit NJ and get arrested for illegal carry.
  6. You're gonna find that new brass is almost as expensive as loaded ammo. Just buy some plinking ammo, fire it and pick up your brass. If you really want new brass. I've have gotten some good deals on starline from Midway by creative application of discount codes and birthday bonuses.
  7. Whats wrong with PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals)?
  8. Some of the Home Depots carry belts now
  9. Around 24" in Cranford with some serious drifts. I was able to find the wifes highlander but my accord was just a big white bump.
  10. No hes's real just very ELUSIVE
  11. NRA should be giving you something. Sounds like your efforts have gotten many "fence sitters" (myself included) to re-up to life membership. I appreciate the effort you're making to get us the discount.
  12. Bryan, I hope you're getting some kind of a referral bonus.
  13. Don't try and modify them that is just asking for trouble. Trying to shoot 9mm aout of a 40 mag is asking for misfeeds, possible bullet setbacks, and just crappy performance. If you can't wait to shoot it, go to any gun shop and buy a 9mm magazine or two. They are very easy to find and each store will have them. You will probably want more than 3 anyway. Like others have said just sell the .40's.
  14. Have you tried different types of ammo? I have a 226 with a 22lr slide, and it is very particular about the ammo it will eat. Get some high velocity ammo and give it a try. Getting a .40 or .357 will be fine the frame is the same as a factory delivery 229. Not sure, but I think you can get a 9mm also. That is one of the "selling points" of the 22 series, just get new slide, barrel and mags and you are good to go. You can get them at http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-p229/
  15. Get the paperwork going, with the way things work in this state you'll have around 9 months (3 months for FID/PP + 3 month + 3 month extension) to save up for what you are looking to purchase.
  16. Welcome to the looney bin Get your paperwork together and get it in to the PD. While you are waiting schedule a class with Anthony at Gun for Hire. He is a great guy and will give you good instruction and help you with any special needs you may have. After taking the training, go down to Shore Shot and rent whatever catches your eye. There should be no issues getting a wheel cahair into the range.
  17. Anyone else offended that our governemnt is wasting more of our money polishing a turd? They are spending a crapload of time, effort and money coming up with new gun legislation that will be challenged in court eventually (shortly I hope). And when that challenge comes up, we have to pay again to have our state lawyers try and justify it. All this is is another way to siphon off money we (NJ) don't have, and redirect to some political cronies.
  18. The reason I am thinking of not attending the training is I'm kind of a buttinski. I have taken various training classes, but I do not think I am qualified to teach anyone. She would be more apt to ask a question if I'm not around.
  19. I finally convinced my wife that guns are not an evil thing She would like to take a class a First shots kind of class, from someone like Gun for Hire, to learn how to use one. I think that's a real good idea since I rather have her learn from someone other than myself. Now here's the question. I have a Mk3 and and 92Fs that would be pretty good learning pistols. But while she is taking the class, do I have to take the class also or is it an illegal transfer if I drop her off and come back after the class?
  20. This topic brought up some question for me. I'm pretty sure most people on this site have at least 1 loaded gun (HD) somewhere in the house. Since I have a kid, mine is locked away. If it got hot enough to cause the round in the tube to go off, would one of these quick access "safes" (think MiniVault) do anything to stop the rounds? Also in a fire would only the 1 in the tube go off or would all in the mag go off?
  21. That casing was probably carried to the truck in the crease of one of the firemans protective gear. A casing wont go that far it will spin a lot a bounce but the energy is spent very quickly.
