Well... I have to admit I've considered making my first purchase a C9, along with a Maverick 88 I've had my eyes on. But... I've decided that cheaping out on two guns is stupid, so I am looking into buying a 1911 first and saving again for a Mossberg 500 for skeet. I've shot the Hi-Point .40 S&W carbine, that thing is a beast. It jammed a lot, but it was a range rental gun so you could chalk it up to dirty/worn gun, crappy ammo, crappy gun, or all three. No experience with the C9, sorry.

It was a good time. I'll definitely be back in two weeks with a little more time on my hands (and hopefully a gun of my own to share)! My first pistol will be a 1911 of some sort. Hell, I've only got one pistol permit before I have to wait for another-- even longer because I have to change my address.

a mix of roadkill on the road in the summer and moldy mildewey. As per my gunsmith I keep rubbing vanilla into it once a month to try to neutralize the smell. It has helped quite a bit, but once it gets hot it starts coming out agin. Strip it down and soak it in Febreeze!

Can anyone recommend a good auto mechanic? Preferably one familiar with foreign cars that is close to Nutley, but if you know of a reputable one elsewhere it's well worth the drive to me. My car needs some front end work done.

I don't agree with that article. I certainly wouldn't leave a round chambered all the time, nor would I wait until making visual contact with a threat before priming the weapon for use. Did it explain when exactly is the "right" time to rack the slide? Oh I know-- while rounding the corner, like you're in an action flick?

Mace is illegal too... recommend carrying around a sample size Frank's Red Hot.
