  1. jOn what about if you served in two branches (or more) any chance we can click two of that applies
  2. CG I would recommend that you NOT carry cuffs as outside of our respective jurisdictions under LEOSA we have no LE authority. If you have cuffs the implication is that you are on the job, or intend to affect arrests, then question is do you have a non lethal option.... you see where I am gone the concealed firearm is a choice of last resort.... Your life or the life of another is in eminent danger. No eminent threat no need for the use of deadly force. Concerning the extra magazine crossbred and another outfit very similar to crossbred makes a great IWB mag pouch that is designed just like the holster.Wear it all day and no issue problems and nary a print problem even with a 1911. Free state or not if you have to use the weapon hand cuffs will be the least of our problems. JMOP......Stay safe.

    Ruger scout

Wolfy sorry for the delay as I totally forgot about this topic and was not checking it. Concerning the bolt to action/reciever fit, I have no issues and there is good lock up and minimal bolt wobble when in the open position very similar to my 700 actions.I think this is mainly do to the short action with the 308. I really enjoy shooting the gun and I like that fact that it has many of the things that if it was a semi would make the dreaded ban list. I think down the line prices on mags will come down and accessories will start to become available. I have mine set up with a standard 1-4 scope but with leupold quick release mounts so I can go with the iron sights. I did put on a replacement T/S picitanny rail which is longer and has its own reap peep shight in cas i every go with a scout scope set up. The factory iron sights are real good and accurate if you are use to shooting military type sighting systems. Hope this helps.

    Ruger scout

Have had mine for about 3 month and have put 350 rounds thru it of all configurations of rounds that I have loaded. Great lttle rifle. Love the iron sights and have mine set up with a quick removalable mounts on an extended picattiny ramp that just got that was introduced by a company in texas. I have a 1-4 power scope and it can reach out there and give decent accuracy. Mags take some getting use to and I hope the prices will come down on them . All and all a great gun in a nice small package and 308 to boot. I kinda like that it is a bolt and comes with non of the assinine restrictions. Got mines at cabelas in Hamburg for I think 730 plus tax and NCICs
  5. One would guess that the other 49 really did not mean it when they took the oath of office to uphold and protect the constitution..... Seems like the UN has long out lived is usefulness ....JMOP
  6. Stickey I have done this on several occassions when not on offical travel for work, what I do is place the weapon in a container that can be locked and cable ran throught the spine of the luggage bag that I use, ammo is stored apart from weapon, I leave the empty magazines in the locked container. You must declare the weapon and it will be checked and bag gets tagged then you take it down to the luggage xray and it gets scanned then hopefully it is there when you arrive, Have had good luck so far....... Never left or traveled thru CONUS from Newark so cannot help there. Do recommend that you wait for your bag to be xrayed and then put on the conveyor. They will tell you you are done, but wait until it leaves the xray area. Good luck
  7. Trout based on my low number of threads I would assume I am the new guy you are talking about. Dick for Bashing Cops ??? interesting as I have been on the job for over 35 years and getting ready to retire........ Your ball game so I guess you can call me an asshole. If anyone bothered to read what I wrote they will clearly see that it was in total opposition to what was originally put out there... ie some cops gone wild execution garbage. As for the statement concerning those willing to protect you in the night.... every night soliders, sailors marines and airmen are doing just that. If saying that makes me a douche bag so be it. There is a big difference between risking ones live for the greater good then there is being stuipid and shot by a guy who was armed, who you believe is still armed and when 30 clowns are gathered around egging things on anything can happen... So yes job one is to go home at night. Based on that video there were not a whole lot of upright citizens in need of laying ones life down for them. I first found this site thinking there were people with similar intrests ie shooting, gun rights etc. guess I was wrong. JMOP
  8. vjf I'm speechless..... douche bag, not like I have been called worse over the years.Do what you feel is right ( go for minus -2) as far as civil that was civil. ...... voicing my opinion on a subject I am very familiar with... sorry if the guy is a friend of yours but he was talking about something he obviously has no idea about... JMOP Jackdw "then you sir are extremely naive." how did you get what I said as not thinking you need and have the right to protect yourself? This started out as a bait threat on a police shooting and now it turns in to a circle jerk.
  9. "Yes, I am a keyboard commando. I pray each night that I remain one. When I was younger I wanted glory. Now, I just want peace and prosperity for all". You sleep well at night because good people are willing to watch in the night and protect your @#$. Go with peace and take your zen bull$%^& someplace else. 20 years ago what did you do ???? Dial 911. PS I will give myself a couple of -1-1-1-1-1 to save you the trouble.
  10. Wrong. "Job one is to risk your life for citizens you suspect and do not know, and error on the side of getting yourself killed to ensure you protect the rights of citizens that you do not know in uncertain situations. At least, it should be. If you wield infinite power, and always receive the benefit of the doubt when you beat or murder people, and your testimony is binding whether it is true or whether you are lying, and sovereign immunity… Then you should not be looking after your own a**. BTW - has nothing to do with the story posted, just a response to a very bad attitude". Dear Keyboard Commando do tell when you last risked your @#$ to help anyone???? MIlitary,Police Fire Dept anything????? PS if your dead you are no good to anybody.
  11. Did they not indicate they reported finding a shell casing at the scene that was not from a Police firearm??? Also do tell how you would have secured that scene with the 30-40 antagonizers egging this on? Until this guy is in cuffs and no other threats are present nothing is secured. Finally you know how many people have managed to kill someone after being hit multiple times??????? JMOP
  12. Ok I'll bite, what part of this don't you get???? "Suhr discussed the department’s initial inability to locate Harding’s gun and cautious approach after he was shot. Harding’s gun flew 15 feet in front of him after he was shot, Suhr said. Yet officers did not see it through the crowd and believed he was still armed, so they kept their guns drawn until Harding stopped moving and they could render medical assistance, Suhr said. Witnesses later told police they saw Harding shoot at cops and that a passer-by picked up his .45-caliber pistol and walked away with it. Suhr said video posted on YouTube shows a person picking up the gun after a crowd surrounded Harding’s body." Not one other person shown on these videos should have been involved and only made the situation worse. Until the suspect complies they are a threat.... This has nothing to do with our rights to keep and bear arms......... Job one go home each night.
  13. Paid a visit to CWO a couple of years ago and after getting treated like a dork ( I assume they believe most if not all of the customers have any or very little firearms experience)I left. Couple of month ago I needed some reloading stuff and decieded to see if anything had changed........ Different cast same sheet of music. I would not buy a BB gun from these clowns. Anyone that is in the Glassboro area pay Bobs little sports shop a visit. Great people, decent prices and they work with you on trade in's.
  14. Summer= IWB crossbread S&W MPC 9mm Winter = IWB Springfield XD .45
  15. We might laugh at this little $%^& sucker but he can still kill one of our's . Best end for him and the rest of them is a one way ticket to the virgins that are waiting for them. JMOP
  16. Griz is spot on, I can only speak to my experience using the M/16 platform and later a GAU 5 or what is commonly referred to as the CAR 15. On my first tour we operated in 2 corp along the ocean and there was plenty of sand probably not to the extent of what our current troops experiencing. Years ago the big issue that we experienced were mainly due to the magazines. We always loaded just 18 rounds and most of the "banana clips" were junk and those that had them dumped them. Great thing about the 5.56 is the amount of ammo you can hump, any body who ever humped an M-60 or belts for the pig will quickly tell you the 7.62 is great especially if you were in place. Rode a track the second tour in 1 "eye" corp and there is nothing like having an M113 to hump the ammo for you Unfortunately the rounds just clank around when hit and they were a B-40 (aka RPG) magnet. PS I hate the AK and SKS only because of who used them As long as there are troops there will always be bitching about weapons, rations, boots you name it. JMOP
  17. We all should be pissed off. And to think they pay these clowns enough to feed a small country for the "performance" What they should do is have one of the military tenors sing the anthem and the money that would normall go to these "stars" could be given to the wounded warrior project or the USO... or any group that benefits the service members or their families.... JMOP Like you freedom... Thank a Vet.
  18. Prayers are with you and yours, good luck and hang it there.
  19. I have been an LEO for over 35 years and to me this was just way over the top, now a couple of politians want to draft a law that makes the killing of a Police dog a mandatory 5 year sentence. This is just pandering to the emotional attachment of pets, I love dogs and would certainly mourn the loss of a dog any dog even one doing its duty, and have during the service seen dogs killled saving there handlers on partol. Yes the dog was mourned, yes it was thought about, but in the end the handler got another dog and humped on. The dog is trained and pre disposed to act, A human in harms way can flee or fight in the end it is that choice that makes a hero... JMOP
