  1. Howell PD contacted my employer. I am not in a gun related occupation.
  2. If all gun owners write to their senators they won't need an authorized list. You would volunteer the information. Is there a way to do this anonymously?
  3. It was 43 last time I looked it up. When the prices skyrocketed after Katerina rig damage Bush suspended the different blending for 9 months so the people could get the gas. This president feels that the country would be better off if gas prices doubled.
  4. Check the PM. They are a quick turn around in Howell.
  5. The residents of Howell don't even want to buy water from them!
  6. I'm not going to post anything else about it until it is resolved. Meantime, can anyone recommend a shooters' supply house that uses another delivery means than UPS? Usually I play wiffle ball rules: strike one and then a foul tip and you're out. In this case, since they want payment up front and that's a second hassle, UPS and that supply house are out now.
  7. +1 on the chili dog w/ mustard and raw onions. Only way to fly!
  8. That's nothing. Mine gets worse by the day. Monday I'm going to get UPS on the shipper's end involved. Looks like out of a case of ammo, UPS Lakewood got 900 rounds and I got 100. They repackaged it in a small box, cut the label off and taped it to the new box so they can claim they delivered it. I can see the outline from the old box around the tape. Friday night when I got home there was a sticker on the door that they made a first attempt to pick up the "damaged" box. They'll try again Monday. Not good enough. I own that box. It is exhibit "A". $300 gets them that box. I'll call shipper's cs Monday. I gave them a chance to make good. I don't think it was handled right from the beginning. I got 5 out of 6 cases promptly and the 6th case was "out for delivery" for nine days before the feeble attempt to mask the (alleged)theft.
  9. Carpoolers, remember that you will have to save a spot in the vehicle on the ride home for your purchases.
  10. I wholeheartedly agree with Matt, but I must add that bankrupt is too lenient.
  11. As for the founders not knowing about firing pins or computers, without being specific, they knew there would be future advancements and innovations and inserted in the constitution the means to change it. 2/3 of legislative and 3/4 of the states gets it done.
  12. That's what the extreme ones claim. A living constitution is no constitution. It is a founding document, not a living document.
  13. James Madison, writing as "Publius", in Federalist Papers #46 justified the public right to bear arms so the states could defend themselves from federal take over. In England, at that time, there was no standing national army. The king would have local, similar to our counties, forces to do his bidding. Madison thought that our new government should have a national force balanced with a local antidote. The states agreed. 2A was born.
  14. The E2 conversion on my 229 came with an E2 decocking lever. Not sure if every 3rd party grip will have the same groove for free motion. Better double check with the grip company.
  15. Was that said on a news report or on the banter among the newscasters after the report? Sometimes, after they say "goodbye" to the correspondent, some silly comments occur.
  16. If you are talking Monroe in Middlesex, the immediate past chief is a friend of mine. He is the guy who gave me the name "Wildbob". (see handle thread) Present chief...I have no idea who it is.
  17. I'd make it a point to mention with all these dignitaries around that when the one person in the world moves from another state INTO New Jersey, the Garden State should be more accommodating.
  18. Mine comes from '92 this time of year. Week after Thanksgiving fishing on the beach in Seaside. That wasn't a good fall run that year and Thanksgiving was slow all around. That Sunday afternoon at low tide I noticed a school of bunker and thought they may draw fish. I went out at high tide around 7pm. Sleet, snow and no one around but me. I was in the water up to my arm pits nailing fish. Police Chief saw me out there and called me "Wild" Bob.
  19. Freedom First raises a good point. I'll take it to the next step. You are legally carrying and out in a public establishment when someone pulls a gun and announces a holdup. You spring into action and draw your weapon. The police come and see two people inside with drawn weapons. What happens next? We will need extensive training above those qualifying standards if acting any way other than self defense.
