  1. Thats about the same age my son said the same thing. 10 yrs later he missed qualifying for Recon in the Marines by 1 point! Good for your son for his aspirations and you for your support.
  2. ESS ICE- I've got a bunch of these in the 3 lenses, every now then cheap off epay. My son in the Marines was actually issued these and gave me my first pr. Also I'm prety sure that Oakly is now the parent co of ESS now. I keep several in the frames of each cause swapping can be a little pia when its cold out. -Which reminds me, gotta check out the script lense now I got me some specs
  3. Thanks to all of you NJ2AS guys for the efforts. And because I get to burn a permit this week which always puts me in a good mood i'm sending a token your way.Good luck and thanks again.

  6. Got a transfer coming thru this Police Products place in Wyckoff soon so maybe I'll get to see what this place is about. $40 cash total, not too shabby.
  7. they're made of paper?! I was thinking something with a little more stopping power like you get with the wrap-around safety glasses? not worried about glare but maybe something sparking off the guy next to me.
  8. Finally broke down and gave in to official old eyes and got some script glasses w polycarb lenses. Did I see a post one time around here about"wings" for them that are some kind of side shields for them? Hope these glasses help my shooting cause I'm runnung out of excuses!

    Armscor 45's

So i was just about to pull the trigger on a new RIA 45 Tact when I chanced upon the fact that the Legacy Citadel is the same gun but for a few cosmetic features like checkerd wood grips vs smooth, larger slide serrations front& back AND an extra mag vs only one with the RIA. I've found only a $15 price dif betwen them, Citadel being more. But I've also been reading the stock Armscor 45 mags leave a little to be desired like the occasional lip cracking and last round not feeding thus making the mag point moot. Have any of you guys had a prob w the stock mags?
  10. I think Ivanna was in a bad mood when she slapped the lid on this one! Chisals, screwdriver, all punched thru before even a hint of popping up. Just rolled up the bead and broke it with Vice grips then cut across the top with snips. No blood either. Off to to put manual lockers on my old Ranger while the sun is out.
  11. Got my 440 case of 762x54 in the sealed can- no key, tabs etc. Is there a trick to surgically open these things or do I have at it with a pliars and chisal! kind of a kool can wiyh all the Russo writing would be nice to save it but wont cry if I trash it.
  12. Yea- that'll teach that chief cause the costs come out of HIS pocket and not the towns(taxpayers) budget !
  13. Quick Overview RWS 9mm Luger Ammunition 124 Grain FMJ 1000 round case. New production, non-corrosive, fully reloadable brass case. RWS manufacturers some of the highest quality ammunition available. The above is from the description posted in the "good deals" thread here. says brass? I got a case myself but haven't shot it yet. Just put a magnet to a rnd, sticks to the bullet but not the case.
  14. Xtra Giants tix= priority fast track membership!
  15. I think so too, at least most of it. I also hope so for all the 9/11 stuff going on in NYC this weekend. My wife who is Port Authority and deeply involved with the rebuild says they're getting a little (pre-maturely) nervous about that.
  16. I hear ya, it doesnt make sense to me but its what i was hearing and later read(so it must be true!). Whatever, its not gonna concern me. As for that other place in Wyckoff I dont think its an actuall walk up shop with guns on display (I may be wrong) but is a distributer for hi tech gun cleaning apperatus who also dabbles with gun sales. It certainly is in a very out of the way, discreet location being at the end of a little residential desd end street, no where near any other stores or foot traffic. About as out of public veiw as you can get around here. He does do transfers and a few yrs back he was priced a little high for that(IMO) so I went down the street 10 mins and saved a $20 bill and haven't looked back on that place.
  17. I dont think there's gonna be much overhead. Their operations will be in a room in the existing building/office of the lawyer partner. The firearms will be on a per app't/order basis so no inventory stocking there. Insurence? What other big ticket overhead costs are there? One guy being a lawyer they should pretty much be able to take care of themselves. But I do wonder how much of an actuall market there is/will be to LEOS only. How often does a cop purchase a gun if he's not an active shooter off the job.I think the whole thing has more to do with financial write-off advantages and trying to take care of there fellows than actually making a big profit.Sounds like ita gonna be a disreet little operation and if you didnt know of its existence you dont need to know.
  18. little shop- A1Ammo.com has S&B 45ACP 5 boxes $93.85 free s/h and Magtech 96.45 also free s/h. They dont have much but DO have free s/h over $70.
  19. Old Power Line Transformer. Containing PCB by Energyfuture published on Jan 5, 2009 PCB - PCB's are a very dangerous chemical used in old transformers such as this one. Edit- tried to show a pic-the old big metal transformer tanks were loaded with pcb laced oil. Been fasedout in the new ones. Been more than a few scrap yards seeing hazmat issues from them.
