Shooting a person in self-defense - tell your story
Anselmo replied to Howard's topic in General Discussion
People keep saying this but do you have any examples? -

Buying Guns out of State
Anselmo replied to gfl216's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
This is federal law not state law. Long guns yes, handguns no -
Hypothetically....

I think this would be similar to if there were exotic pets or something like that you need a license to own. I'm sure there's a fancy Latin legal phrase for owning property that you can't take possession of. What if you bought an old house and found a gun in the process of doing some renovation work. -
The soy induced estrogen might neutralize some of the test boost. Those test boosts might be more hype than real. Why not real milk? Overall though, supplements don't do all that much. It's the hard, consistent work that gets results.

Crossfit and eliminate soy products.

Are these legal opinions from lawyers or just random forum people? The law says "place" it could just have easily said "state" if they wanted it to mean state. Since it says "place", it means your home in NJ to a range or another home or any place you can carry in another state. There is a whole other line of faulty logic that you are locked in NJ and can't leave with your gun for the purposes of CCW in another state.

Obstacles getting my NJFID Card and P2P
Anselmo replied to DeeVeeEight's topic in General Discussion
$0. I did it myself. The biggest cost was the certified mail fees associated with the expungement. -
Just recently I was at a street fair in California. There were lots of booths and vendors ranging from wine to caramel popcorn. One of the booths was a gun store. Surprised me to see that. On their table they had several firearms with 3 foot long cables locked on them. I assumed this was so you could pick the guns up to check them out but not walk off with them. I picked one up (357 mag Desert Eagle) and in trying to keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, pointed it down. The vendor immediately said, "I'd appreciate it if you kept the gun on the table. We don't want it get scratched." I'm not very experienced with guns but every I examine a gun, the gun is racked and cleared by the owner. Since the gun was custom finished and wasn't cleared, I wasn't even sure it was a real gun until I picked it up. Then when I got scolded for keeping the gun low I was left with questions about gun safety. I put the gun down and left the booth. There were a lot of people in the street and I'm not at all comfortable handing the weapon without assurance that it was unloaded. I would have at least expected a chamber flag. From what I've learned on the Internet and seen in NJ and PA, guns are cleared each time someone picks it up. Am I overly cautious or was the booth a little loose with their safety rules?

Obstacles getting my NJFID Card and P2P

It's a moot point. I was denied, expunged, waited a year and reapplied. Got denied again. Appealed and won. To the OP, I suggest you get your record expunged. Even with expungement, the court can still use those offenses against you to support the denial but it's a step in the right direction. After the expungement is complete, which can take 6 months, reapply. The police may say, and court may agree that the car theft and fairly recent disorderly persons show a pattern of behavior that disqualifies you. I don't know what you can do about that. -
The attitude costs extra. The ammo without attitude is less expensive.

I got pulled over for having my front plate on the dash. No ticket; just a warning.

People at work have both and like both. I don't think there is a clear cut winner between the two.

No war here. Let's just call the King case "perceived injustice" for argument's sake. I think we can both agree that more people were outraged by King's beating than by Martin's shooting death. King was beat by quite a few cops, so it wasn't a fair fight. There was very strong sentiment before and during the trial that the cops would be found guilty. With Martin, there is not as much outrage. The people that would riot see it a mano v mano battle and Martin lost. They can understand and respect that. Unless there is something that shows Zimmerman's obvious guilt during the trial but he's still acquitted, I wouldn't expect any race riots.
-
I just don't see how this Zimmerman case compare to Rodney King. The cops that beat King were clearly wrong and wrongfully acquitted in my and a lot of other people's opinions. People get angry what faced with injustice.

I don't worry about anything on infowars.

I fully agree. Better to worry about your weight, cholesterol and blood pressure than a home invasion. -
NJ Home Carry Options, Advice and Discussion 2013

Where do you get this $30k number from? Are there any real life examples of a legitimate shooter in their home being prosecuted for the shoot? Or any civil actions? Why would anyone even worry about the consequences of having to use deadly for legitimate defense or the confiscation of an expensive firearm. I'm more worried about be prepared than the consequences. The probability of being involved in a home invasion where you will need to use deadly force to prevent it very, very low. I'm not aware of any NJ laws that are stacked against a legitimate use of deadly force. The challenge of training is not being able to use a gun and shoot a paper target at 5 or 10 yards. The challenge is being able to think, act and react in a real life situation. -
It's a pretty common occurrence on the golf course.

"I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see, I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see. When I kill all the whities I see, then whitey he won't bother me, I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see. Then I'll get a white woman who's wearing a navy blue sweater.."
