  1. I think that was his purpose for posting his statement. We threaten peoples way of life by imposing our political beliefs, right or wrong isnt the issue here, its that fact that these people stand to loose much more then we stand to gain, that right there is a huge influencing factor.
  2. Any rhyme or reason to this?....i guess there too busy shutting down his myspace page to release some real facts about what went on. It went from shotgun to automatic to 19 shots fired... again i hate the media bunch of f*cktarts
  3. Barely a flake up in the north today... got about 4 inches yesterday tho
  4. I wonder what it would take to get one of those these days...
  5. Clarifications boys..... expiration date is 90 days from the issue date(yes i know its not actually printed on the permit, but its inherent)... you get an additional 90 days from that date, not when you actually bring it to get renewed. If your permits are expired by 60days and decide to have them renewed, you only get 30days. DJG probably put it in the most easy to understand terms. You only get 180 days from issue date with an renewal.
  6. You can only renew for an additional 90 days from the expiration date, no matter when there renewed you get 90 days after the expiration date.
  7. My PD told me specifically to tear them up beyond recognition...Lots of valuable info on them.
  8. how will you guys be organizing the matches?
  9. You are correct sir, many birds and insects alike use the same mode for detecting the earths magnetic field, If it were something wrong with the physical aspect of the earth, trust me almost every known species that can fly would be dead. Bees in particular would be going haywire. They rely on the magnetic field of the earth to build there hives, if there was something wrong with the field, there hives would fall apart... Ever wonder how they get perfect strait honeycome shapes? thats how. The poles do change from year to year however were talking inches, and its normal, we've been putting medallions down at the poles to signify where the new poles are every year. In order for something to effect a single species on such a selected level means someone put in a ton of work to determine a mode of destruction in which would only effect a narrow range of species. And i mean a ton of work and research. Most toxic agents work on a broad level, effecting biological systems on a cellular level, and they usually inhibit processes that are common in all animals. In order to narrow the range of effected species they need to find something unique with in the species that they can effectively poison, and that is a very hard to do. Most commonly used to do this is not poison or chemicals at all, they ussually use a bacteria or other "live" agent which will only grow and infect said species Since bacteria is much more species specific then poisons or chemicals.
  10. Didn't something like this happen in NJ not to long ago? Some of the farmers were sick of the birds crapping all over the place and creating unsanitary conditions for livestock? people were wondering why a certain species of bird was found dead all over place... residents were told to bag the birds and trash them after they finally released a statement that they were being poisoned on purpose.
  11. I wasn't speaking of how truthful the movie was... Like i said he's 90% full of crap. I enjoyed it for what BBK said, it makes people think more deeply about what exactly set off these kids. From what i got out of the movie was that these kids were a product of the society in which they lived. It's easy to disregard some of the comments he makes about the NRA and gun laws, he throws up some facts and then fails to properly link any influencing factors. However, this is the guy who went up to canada and asked why the USA had so many gun related crimes, when canada has basically has the same ratio of guns per person, with similar laws. most the times he lies, and rarely he actually proves some valid points, and here he basically showed that guns don't influence behavior.
  12. I'll have to take a look at the maxpedition packs, thanks for recommendation, i know a good pack can be hard to find depending on the need.
  13. I was forced to watch is video on health care, what a waste of time. I really don't like him, 10% of what he says is true, the other 90% is BS. Although the BC video he made wasnt all that bad, i liked the interview with marlin manson he did.
  14. Thats very good point with the holster on the vest. I guess my best option is to put on some weight. lol. I always imagined the rifle being on my back but now that i think of it, it would primarily be slung over my chest. If you guys are interested in some high end durable backpacks, check out the burton snow packs. I bought one 10 years ago and aside from normal wear its outstanding a perfect size, has mulit compartments, as well has bottle holders on each side, and has numerous clips and straps to secure items and of course has the chest and waist strap. I use it for school, and dump loads of heavy books in it every day, and gut for when i go snowboarding. I have never seen a pack last this long. It also comes with a back plate in it(thick plastic) to keep items from stabbing you if you fall or lean back. The good ones are a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it.
  15. +1 and if you know anyone in school snag there .edu address(free upgrade to premier member= free 2day shipping) I just bought a SOG knife off amazon for 50% off. A lot of the stores you order from are on amazon and you dont even know it, with better prices. Not much of an ammo selection but they have almost everything else.
  16. My best advice is keep it light. My RRA free float is on the heavy side, although probably more durable then most. DD makes good rail systems check them all out first. I wouldn't let the delta ring being a component of whether to buy or not. You can easily swap one in with the right tool, and if not a gunsmith will do it cheap.
  17. ahhh, my bad, should have read one inch above his question..
  18. I wasn't implying that you or Leo's are doing something wrong, i was just implying that if you(defendant) play your cards right you can get out of it. If 10% can get away with it, that tells me these people found the loop hole and played it very well. The point i was making at the very least, the less you provide for officers to make a case, the greater your chances become. And that is very much the same for you observations. If you believe you are say .09 would you take a breath test? your chances are off the bat increased by 10% based on your conviction rates. If you pass the sobriety test, and refuse the breath test, what observations could you argue? Just to get a few things strait, i'm not really a drinker, and im not saying anyone can get out of a dui if they do x, y and z. However, i've seen plenty of people weezle there way out of dui's. Just recently my car was hit by a drunk driver, both him and his passenger were plastered. Had they shown me the slightest regard of responsibility i may have let them go, based on having them actually get a real ride home. This happened in a friends driveway, and they were freinds of freinds. However, they basically didnt know which way was up, and called it in. I like others feel that i may have saved two lives that night and possibly more. I felt no remorse it was not my decision. The driver didnt have a license which wasnt reveled until the cops got there, probably why they were being so dodgy toward me, which prometed the call in the first place. Not sure how it turned out for the guy, im guessing he wont be able to get out of this one.
  19. I was pretty sure they had a few brands that were not allowed(wolf being one of them. http://www.bulletholenj.com/shooting-range-target-shooting.asp -check out the rules section #6
  20. Just to add unnecessary confusion.... i have seen M855 ammo sold under the description of being AP. I have been shopping around for bulk 5.56/223 and have seen such descriptions, specifically on GB.com. i can see why people are hesitant to buy it, especially when there told its AP when its actually not.
  21. I'm actually looking for something similar as well. I'm a pretty slim guy so i would think a properly sized vest would suit me better. Since a full sized pistol would fit better on a vest then on my hip, as well as a knife. I've been looking around for a decent vest that allows the option to mount where you want for a decent price and have yet to find one. The ones i like don't give you the options to move stuff around where you want it. My ideal vest would be a pistol holster, 4 pistol mag pouches, 4 rifle mag pouches, or 2x2. And a spot to place my knife, preferably upside down across the left side of my chest. Still cant find a good one priced accordingly there either cheap or expensive, Not looking for armor just something that has everything i need ready to go.
  22. As far as i know you can be given a ticket for careless driving or even reckless driving at the discretion of the officer, you don't necessarily have to be given a ticket for driving drowzy under maggie's law to get caught up in a legal battle. I was once given a careless driving ticket for changing lanes too quickly at an intersection...It was a clean lane change well under the speed limit, yet he thought it was extremely dangerous. So if you were driving erratically and got pulled over told the officer you were tired, he could very well cite you for careless or reckless driving. Heck, half the dui's i read about in the police blotter are accompanied by careless or reckless driving, as if a dui didnt imply that already. Also, i have had friends refuse sobriety tests, breath tests and blood test, a good lawyer will have any drunk/intoxicated charges dropped based on a no evidence factor rarely will a court ever rely solely on testimony as they don't want there officers being scrutinized. and at most you loose your license for the 3 months and pay some fines for the refusal. Much better then having a dui on you record. Of course im talking about your typical i'm fine to drive drinker, not your other typical plastered driver. Do i agree with said above? no not really. We live in a system of check and balances, sometimes it works out for the cops, sometimes the drunk driver gets away.
