  1. thats great! I was the ro on the classifier stage for you. Production is a great division to compete. There are a lot of competitors to compare yourself to so you can see your progression in the future.
  2. Blake you did great! It is a rush isn't it? If you join the USPSA you will get classified and only compete against other people with the same classification.
  3. We had a blast today but it was HOT! Holy Xxap was it HOT! It was hard to stay focused but I had a decent match and did not manage to crack too much. I will post some vids when I get a chance. Brian
  4. Am I the only one confused by the conversation. You never put a round in another man's chamber!
  5. Everyone started just like you are about to! If you keep at it your skill set will advance tremendously. My advise is to go as fast as you are comfortable with but let the RO (range officer) know what you want to do. Start slow and confident and then see what you can do. Either way you will have more fun than if you went to great adventure and meet some of the best people out there! Ps. Bring water and snacks! The heat can sap the strength right out of you. Brian
  6. I will take the pink one. My little one will like it better. I am not going to prepare at all and just go for it while I am there!
  7. I am in! Hopefully it won't be as hot over the weekend!
  8. I thought MasterBlaster went out of business in 2009? (see how many even know what I am talking about) I will miss yet another one. I will be working but wishing I was there!
  9. I remember the days when results were snail mailed a month or two after the match and you wouldn't remember a single stage. Then email came along and it cut it down to a few weeks.
  10. Check the push though side of the sit tool. Some times the sks/ak sight tool opening is a smaller diameter than the front sight bolt. We ran into this on a friends wasr.
  11. I have used it in 9mm and 38 super. It is a very clean burning powder in my opinion and also meters fairly well. There are some pressure signs that vary from lot to lot for uspsa major. Some lots have made major without issue and some, at the same pf, will show flat primers.
  12. Forgot to add...... Get a primer flip tray and you will also need small and larger primer pickup tubes.
  13. You will also need a tumbler, sifter, powder scale, calipers and a sturdy bench. I recommend you get the strong mount. I would also get the powder check die.
  14. I didn't even have a performance, I am sorry that my squad had to witness it.
  15. I only got 2 on video. decent run.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do8uczLJnLE bad run.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTAGCEz1JKE
  16. Me too!!!!!!!!! Had a great time. It was nice to dust off the cobwebs and get out there. I wish I could have had a better match but I had some decent runs and some not so decent ones. Time to start practicing again! PS. Shot with a great squad! There were even some members there. Brian
  17. Just my opinion, competitive shooting will give you the biggest results in the shortest time. Take a class to get the basics of safety then go have fun.
  18. Great match today. I had a lot of fun. Can't wait to see everyone again but that was probably my last hoorah until spring. Brian (one of many at the match today)
  19. So........When will the scores be up? (Sorry, I just had to.) I really do appreciate the work that everyone does for CJ and OB. The current match directors have been around for longer than any other group that we have had before. Burnout is rampant in this sport because so few do so much. I was never involved in the actual match but I would shoot in 3-4 matches a month and be there 2 hours before and 1 hour after or so for every match to help build, tear down and even dabled in design before I burned out and took years off. Matt, Vlad, Dave and Jim. Thank You!
  20. Glock 35 lets you shoot production with downloaded ammo or major for limited or limited 10. Most versatile gun to buy IMHO. Just change the sights and do a trigger job and you can win the nationals with it! OK maybe a guide rod and spring as well.
  21. I guess no one remembers that I was there I had a lot of fun shooting with you guys. Mickey, Just download a USPSA rule book and follow the procedures for ROing and get familiar with the rules. Ask if you can run the timer and give whoever is doing it a break. Once you start to get more knowledgable about the rules it seems to make everyone not only a better shooter but also a safer shooter. It only sucks when you have to DQ someone, but they do it to themselves and learn something from it. Brian
  22. What was wrong with the texas star stage? You just shoot from the top down. The designer of that stage almost had no shoots covering the side plates of the star. That would have been evil !!!!!!!!
  23. http://www.gttargets.com/paperstands.htm I never saw Seths work, and I am sure it is great but Karl is local and will have it delivered to a match. I have used his stuff for the past 12 years and will use it for many more. Brian
  24. Results?????? I sort of want to see what my actual HF was on the classifier to see where it will be on the next classification.
