NJ LEO kills man in road rage incident in MD
gunguy1960 replied to WVisHome's topic in General Discussion
Accountability, if your job doesnt teach it, life will. -
Thank you for sharing your wisdom guys, much appreciated.

New to single action, and in doing some research it seems the grip is designed to roll in your hand, yet I see some people using modern two hand tight grip, what are your thoughts on this?

Do we have a count down for Christie?
gunguy1960 replied to sure shot's topic in Pending Legislation Discussion
Passing out collected charity money during this election time, it really has quite a bad smell to it, reminds me of presidential politics, sugar daddy politicians. -

doctors asking children about parents and firearms
gunguy1960 replied to JrzyGuy30's topic in General Discussion
This is a problem, its liberal groups pushing their influence to "discuss" their beliefs on your children/spouse. Who normally takes the kids to the doctor? Usually it is not the gun owner. Of great worry is now this information is not private, your doctor is required by law to keep electronic medical records, and this information is open to everyone from the I.R.S. to agencies youve never heard of. -
Bergen County Sheriff officer* loses his mind
gunguy1960 replied to JackDaWack's topic in General Discussion
He didnt get the follow up memo that clearly stated "shirtless friday has been cancelled due to concerns from female sheriffs". -
Public pensions should be abolished, let them invest part of their paycheck privately like everyone else, and sick days, use it or lose it, like everyone else, unless of course we want to end up like Greece, or worse.

Is Norinco still banned simply due to low prices?
gunguy1960 replied to jds560's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Wow, yes, this is why we need more competition, not less, thanks for sharing that. -
Another reason for a global warming tax? Say it isnt so!

Norinco 1911s were very good guns, they even make a colt woodsman clone. Competition is better for the consumer and is what this country is about, even if the left hate it. -
How does this work? A five percent tax means I have to give her $1.05, I just dont get the logistics of it.

Accountability. Individually and professionally, is there a code, written or implied, to ignore or cover for when others around you are not accountable, and does the profession as a whole have an organizational arm that reduces accountability of the group legally and or politically. If you and your profession dont fit into the above you probably will find it much easier to do the right thing and you probably dont end up in the news very often as a profession.

Yes the police have no duty to you, I was shocked when I learned this years ago, but now it takes alot more to shock me, like finding out the post office takes a picture of everyones envelope, and retains this for who knows how long, and for who knows what purposes. The best argument for conceal carry may be that the police have no duty to us as individuals.

So what should I shout to Christie tomorrow?
gunguy1960 replied to BigBlueQ's topic in General Discussion
Whisper, "proud gun owner", and slink back into the shadows, youll go unnoticed, we need that. -
What I find interesting is the differences of putting "someone in fear" vs. putting a "reasonable person in fear", in one case any emotionally unbalanced person can rant to the police you put them in fear, in the other case the police would need to think if reasonable people would be put in fear by what your doing.

Fighting oppressive taxes, that started the fight and that fight continues to this day.

Is the front license plate optional in NJ?
gunguy1960 replied to ryan_j's topic in General Discussion
Its only legal if all your windows are deeply tinted as well, then you are good to go, dont forget to hang stuff from your rear view mirror as well. -
You are responsible for your dog at all times, dogs deserve owners who understand that and protect their dogs by making sure they dont get in a position where someone else has to make tough decisions because the owner stopped being responsible. Point goes to cop. Giving grief to people video taping is a no-no, just like arresting people who give you the finger, these cases are always in the news and you would think people would know by now, anyway, we are all on camera, get over it and just do the damn job. Point to irresponsible dog owner.

Why does anyone need that many ounces of tea? Look at the size of that can, it serves no sporting purpose.

The fact that she had items high in sugar content, with high caloric value was evil and she was lucky to have the officers there to stop her before the damage was done. Hats off to those brave officers!
