  1. Ill put the word out in the construction field I work in. I might be able to get cash for ya and you can buy your own firearm of choice! Ken
  2. If they are the thickplated bullets I have done that load before. I started at 5gn unique and worked up to 7gn. I got decent results at about 6.6gn. The thick plated bullets can be loaded almost to the FMJ loading data. Enjoy Ken
  3. Someone comented earlier about storm damaged wiring. I dont know that this is the cause here but the poster is correct. Electrical fires at the shore are going to be like a plague over the next few years. From witness accounts the fire seemed to start under the boardwalk. There isnt much under there that can start a fire by itself other than electrical wiring that is most likely storm damaged if it has not been replaced. The only other likely cause I can see is a careless smoker. I hope everyone makes it out OK by the time tis fire is out. Ken
  4. I shot up a whole bunch of older than me 410. They where paper hulls and some of the shot with half the hull stuck on the wad. They actually tuned themselvs into a sort of slug. They where stored in a closet in a house with no AC. They all went bang though. Ken
  5. I always carry mine. I have a habit of stopping at any gun store I see in my travels. I also make purchases in my travels. I also usually have a valid pistol permit on me also. I dont want to let a deal escape me Ken
  6. You will be lucky if that bridge is open by next year. Better just plan on driving around it. Ken
  7. When he first told us that we where being spied on...patriot When he ran to china and then russia with all the secrets they dont need to know...TRAITOR Ken
  8. I can back the italian american festival. Awesome food. I did not know about the irish one this weekend. Maybee Ill see you there. Ken
  9. that sounds more than reasonable to me. Ken
  10. This is not true if you know how to weld. One of the nice things about mig is that you can control the heat easily. You can easily weld sheet metal with a mig welder and that warps really easily if your not careful. If your not an experianced welder I do not recomend that you try this. Most welding shops will pin and weld a brake if you take them the barrel. Its typically a $30 job if you have a good guy that will just slip it in when he has a minute. Ken
  11. Anyone ragging on this as negative needs to stop. Generac is not without its problems. I had to go through several rounds of contract negotiations with them to get things rite. They try to low ball dealer and the ones that accept it are usually abused. It is a shame but this post is not entirely off base. As far as their product quality goes, they are pretty darn good. You will have problems with anything and that is the truth. Generac has actually subbed out their entire technical department and warranty department to an outside company. Anyone who has gone through their service and repair classes will understand why. Since that change and their unofficial partnership with Siemens things have changed. Ill tell anyine the good, the bad, and the ugly about anything I know about. I dont swear by any one company for anything. Of all, I have had the best luck with Generac and Caterpillar. Ken
  12. I am not familiar with that particular model. I do doubt that it is an Onan manufactured unit though. Onan is almost as expensive as Caterpilllar as far as pricing goes. If you have an older Onan part are crazy enough to make you junk it. They are not the same since Cummins bought them out. Just my $.02 Ken
  13. No, you may need to have a larger meter installed though. A separate meter is not required in this part of the country. If you can locate the generator close to the gas meter as posible it will always help as far as plumbing goes. Wire is easier to run that gas line. Kohler builds a fine machine. They are well engineered and will serve you well. They do not have the dealer and parts network that Generac has though. If you could get a better deal on the Kohler go for it. Ken
  14. I have seen this exact problem before. You can cut the bottom of that joist out. You will HAVE to install a steel reinforcing plate (not the nail on ones from simpson either) to give it its strength back. I can give you the number of a company that custon manufactures them. I have to get it from the GC of the job Im on at the moment. I will repost it for all when I get it. Ken
  15. I will do that. 3g does not have anything i use in stock unfortunately. Ken
  16. I must have missed that. I do keep an eye on the marketplace. Some things fly out of there within minutes. Ken
  17. Cool. Some of my experimental loads cross the same charge and bullet weights you guys are using. Ill have to see when I go to the range. Ill post charge/velocity info after I go for anyone else that is having to switch powders due to the shortage. Ken
  18. I driller, pinned, and mig welded mine myself. If you take the upper and seprate it from the lower you can safely transport it to a local welder and have him do it. Its not that hard of a job. The requirement as far as I can understand the law is that the muzzle device should break off before it unthreads. A weld is considered non reversible. I am not a fan of silver soldereing on a barrel. It puts a LOT of heat into the area and too much heat can do bad things to the strength of steel. Ken
  19. Since I can not find any of my go to powders lately I have been forced to try win 748. From all my data it does seem like a good powder for the 55grain area of the 223. Has anyone used it? What are your favorite load/bullet/primer combo? I loaded a bunch last night from min to max, two different primers, and 3 different bullets. Now I just need to get to the range with my chrono and try it out. Hopefully I will be able to get some varget and cfe223 soon. If anyone sees any post it up here! Ken
  20. As a generac dealer I am curios to hear your story. You can PM it to me if you would rather. I have been beat up a little bit by generac to make sure something was handled under warranty that was actually caused by the installing contractor. If you still have the unit and still have a problem I may be able to help you mediate it. FWIW, I do install all makes and models of generators and they all have their quirks, be it customer service or mechanical. Ken
  21. I donate to my local services when they do that. I am lucky enough to have %100 volunteer services and the townships are ripping their budgets up. If they fail as volunteers then the next option is paid services. Thats costs over 6 times what volunteer does and will come out of my taxes for sure. So, necessary evil is the category I put them in. When they have fund drives that cause a traffic catastrophe i am a little less giving. I think that is inappropriate. They used to do that on 72 going to LBI but did finally stop and replace it with a drive by coin toss. I dont know if its still that way or not, its been a long time since I have gone down that way. Ken
  22. The new member meetings are the second most crowded time you will have at this club. The most crowded will be your next meeting! After you get your fob and card you will have your choice of facilitys. Even when its busy there there is still room. I did have to wait for a pit once. It was not a very long wait though. Ken
  23. We are all screwed. Untill we get the morons out of office we are screwed. The longer they stay there the deeper the hole we are in. Both sides of the conflict in Syria hate us so I just dont understand why the hell we even care>? Dont we have our own problems? I guess Im just out of touch with reality or something...... Ken
