  1. Sorry no experience with that exactly. I own the Tikka T3 Sporter in .223, and it's a laser beam. Butter smooth action. I put a machined recoil block and Yo Dave's lightest springs. Topped it with a Vortex 36X and it is perfect. Hope this helps.
  2. Go rogue and get a Colt SAA copy! THAT will round out the collection!
  3. All set...no need for the possible grief of the return shipment (hanging around to sign), gave to my FFL to ship...Thanks!!
  4. Hmmm..got 2 to 1...then there's having it shipped back...never dealt with this situation before.
  5. Hello all I'm looking to ship my 1911 out of state for some work. Does this need to be shipped through my FFL or can I do it directly? Thanks
  6. F 'em ....go mail order...SG Ammo, AIM, Lucky Gunner, LAX...they all rock
  7. More power to them! We need representation in every facet of American life.
  8. I've bought and sold tons on GB. You just have to be picky on the auctions you bid on, but the deals are out there if you look.
  9. Hello All, Never did this before. Besides shipping to an FFL dealer, what else are my responsibilities of selling a pistol out of state? Thank you.
  10. This year's election makes me feel like Meryl Streep in Sophies Choice....
  11. Seems average at best. No great bargain, but not a ripoff. I agree, half the fun of an AR is building to your preference.
  12. Thanks all. I assume the "one gun a month" still pertains?
  13. Never bought a pistol from a private owner. Can this be legally transferred with a valid permit, or does it need to go thru an FFL? Thanks~
  14. Good morning all, Looking to pick up a basic inexpensive polymer 9. Never owned a "plastic" striker gun before, and don't want to invest too much if it's not to my liking. The "Witness" seems to have some good press, and was hoping for some first hand knowledge. Also open to other sub $400 options. Thanks!
  15. I've always heard the full length guide rod does not really affect performance or reliability as much as it adds a little weight to help with staying on target. My opinion is the ease of field stripping with a GI length far outweighs any minor benefits gained with a full length.
  16. +1 !! Been a member for over 20 years, and I gladly call it my home range. I've made many good friends there and have watched fellow members and RO's give 100% attention to new shooters to have a fun positive experience. There are open events for every style of shooting. The RO's put absolute safety first, and if they want flags in bores, there should be no questions asked, because ITS THE RIGHT THING. If that's an issue for your shooting style, maybe its you that needs to re-read the NRA Code of Safety We have no problems with it.
  17. Exactly...I am looking for a formal 50 yd event. I know I can set up my target at 50yd.
  18. Update: took it to the range yesterday. The slide catches when it is released from the locked open position. If I rack the slide from battery over an inserted mag, it closes fine. Now I'm wondering if it's something with the slide release(??)
  19. Had an opportunity to see about a dozen of the small lot of SK garands that made it here years ago before being shut down.....these ones, at least, looked like ass!. Bought one just for the receiver....crappy, rotted out Korean barrel (still have it if anyone wants it for a tomato stake, or just to see one) and wood was some dense oversized mess. Missing trigger group and sights.
  20. Hello all, I wanted to try my hands at this in a formal setting, but just found out my range (Cherry Ridge) only runs 100yd, mainly for centerfire. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  21. Hello all. This just started happening after years and tons of rounds. Magazine going in fine, rack the slide and it apparently hits the mag. Remove mag and reinsert - sometimes it works other times I have to do a few times to get slide into battery. Have not inspected mag yet, but any suggestions on what to look for? Thanks
  22. Thanks all...looks like The Blackhawk 6.5" is the deal. Handled the Uberti at Heritage and while a cool gun, not what will suit my needs.
