  1. I did mine. I have not encountered any problems ... yet.
  2. ... And slingshots are illegal. Go figure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I went through the exact same thing last year, and I wanted the same shotgun that you want. However, I had trouble finding one, and the prices were a bit high. So I bought the 870 Express Synthetic 7 round http://www.remington...ic-7-round.aspx I also added an XS big dot tritium front sight http://www.brownells...IUM-FRONT-SIGHT I also added a Remington super cell pad
  4. Oh, my wife absolutely hates snakes. She would sell the car. One time we came back from the grocery store. We have an extra refrigerator in the basement. About 99% of the time, I am the one who carries stuff down to the basement. For some reason, this time she did it. I heard her say, 'Whoever put the fake snake down here, it's not funny. You know how I feel about snakes." I thought, uh oh. So I went downstairs, and I saw curled up next to the refrigerator a real snake. She was so freaked out. She told me to get rid of it. I said OK, but I have to go to this meeting at church right now, but I'll get it when I come back. She gave me the look. OK, I'll get it now. So I did. It was a very mellow, harmless snake about 3' long. I just put it way back in the woods behind our house.
  5. Congratulations on your perseverance and your accomplishment. Thanks for your service. My son is in the Air Force and one of his choices was helicopter maintenance, but they did not give him that. (They pretty much haven't given him any of his choices for anything, but that is the military and that is another story.) Anyway, he will soon be doing C-130 maintenance at Yokota AFB in Japan.
  6. Also, as a practical matter, the FID is a card that you can easily carry in your wallet. The PPP is a 3-part (?) carbon form that you cannot easily carry around, and which gets more damaged the more you handle it. To require a PPP just to feel a few handguns seems silly.
  7. FYI, if you're lazy or just not inclined to sharpen your own, I just bought a Kershaw knife and it says they will sharpen your Kershaw knife for free (not including shipping costs). http://www.kershawknives.com/warranty.php
  8. Almost like the movie "Ronin" but that was supposedly an S8 with nitrous. Great car chases in that movie.
  9. I've asked this before, but can't you legally carry an unloaded long gun (or at least a shot gun) with a valid hunting license, even if you do not have an FID?
  10. Nice Boxer. My wife will not allow ours on the furniture, except for the one chair that is for the dog. Occasionally, we will come home from being out somewhere, and when we walk in the door she will quickly jump off the sofa. My wife gives her the evil eye.
  11. If you were to make it past various security measures and came in the door, you would meet her. Her chair is next to the door.
  12. I live in Roxbury Twp in Morris County. Several years ago (maybe 2006) there were reports of a mountain lion, and it was supposedly observed by a LEO. However, they did not publicize it much, although you can find references to it if you Google it. We frequently have bears in our neighborhood, as well as foxes. Our dog went up against a bear on our front yard last year before eventually retreating inside. My wife saw it, and said it was the largest bear she had ever seen since we have lived here. Our dog (Boxer) has little fear but I'm not sure how she would do against a mountain lion.
  13. very cool http://laughingsquid.com/knucklecase-a-badass-iphone-knuckleduster-case/
  14. Well, it works really well on my iPhone 4s.
  15. I am new to guns, but I think I have made good choices so far, and would not change anything: Remington 870 w/ extended mag Walther PPQ 9 mm
  16. The camera in the iPhone 4S is also pretty good.
  17. My iphone 4s goes all day without charging. I plug it in every night. You het good battery life if you shut down apps you don't need to have running.
  18. You can e-mail Bill Fearon: bf1490 AT gmail.com to get on their e-mail list. I have no affiliation with them.
  19. My 5 year old (now 6) can easily use the iPod touch, which works just like an iPhone, without the phone. In other words, they are so simple that someone who cannot read can use one. But they are also very powerful and can do just about anything you could reasonably expect. There has never been a time when I wanted to talk on the phone and use the internet at the same time.
  20. My wife and I both got the iPhone 4s. We had Blackberries before that. I was sort of biased against Apple for some reason, but I have to say that the iPhone is really great. The strength of the iPhone is in all the apps that are available. Also, I am a Verizon customer, but I went to the Apple store to get my phone. I was in and out of that store in less than 30 minutes with an activated phone and my contacts transferred to my new phone. I would have still been waiting at the Verizon store.
  21. I think you're probably right. In this case, because he did it around 10:00 AM at busy shopping centers, I have to think that he was a drug addict. It is a high risk/low reward robbery scenario.
  22. He was helping the family on another matter. He was in a position of authority with respect to this family. Therefore, regardless of her age, it is inappropriate for him to be hitting on the daughter of a family he is helping. Even if she were an 18 year old high school senior, it would still be wrong. You don't want people hesitating to call the cops because they may try to hit on your daughters or sons. It is an abuse of the authority that comes with the badge. On top of that, for him to send pictures of himself in uniform is a further abuse of the power of the police, and it is an insult to other LEOs.
  23. The Roxbury shopping center is just a few miles from my house. My wife is there frequently. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/04/25/police-arrest-man-accused-of-terrorizing-women-at-new-jersey-shopping-areas/
  24. There have been several armed robberies in our area recently -- Dover, Wharton, and yesterday in Roxbury. The victim from yesterday's robbery was able to describe the guy and his vehicle, and Denville police got him on Rt. 10. I guess it is a sign of the times, and perhaps a symptom of drug usage, that a guy would rob people at gunpoint at busy shopping centers at 10 AM. And, yes, like most people here, I think that CCW would help deter these types of crimes. http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20120425/NJNEWS/304250014/Woman-defies-Wharton-parking-lot-robber-shopping-cart?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
