How I spent part of the day.
HKHockey replied to AS350Driver's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
How fast was that guy going? Seems like he pushed you a few solid feet by the skid marks. -
Lol that gave me a chuckle

About gun safes and cabinets....
HKHockey replied to Plinker's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Yeah, a relative of mine has the same setup as bry@n. A bookshelf with a weighted lock attached to the door. Small bedroom size with bed, computer, gun safes. Was pretty BA. -
That picture is absolutely ridiculous lol. It looks like you are Hadukening (new verb, just made it) the target.

http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/hk-kb.html Found it after a quick search. Seems like the ammo was loaded to unsafe specs. Lesson learned - Do not use other people's handloads.

Sorta OT but...what exactly happened to that USP? Is there a thread on it somewhere?
-
Not to mention the myriad of small 1-2 man operations who have been churning out high-quality kydex based offerings.

Oops, sorry. Did not realize it was in a classroom! Dropped the show 2 episodes in. =[

Absolutely gorgeous revolver! Hopefully will collect some nice S&Ws or Colts in the near future

The tlr-1s is also available for slightly more which includes the "LOLSEIZURE" mode. Some people do not like how that activates so be sure to read reviews on that as well.

Sorry, I am inexperienced with the 1911 platform but I thought it was meant to be carried 'cocked and locked'?

The light actually silhouettes your sights in the dark making them easier to see if anything.

You guys are both okay I hope? Was kinda shocked to see it actually snowing this morning as well. Thought the meteorologists just wanted to err on the side of caution.

NJ FID application data collection effort
HKHockey replied to nott's topic in New Firearms Owners Corner
1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). FID + 2 Permits 2. Police Department where you applied. Mahwah PD 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Officer Horn 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. Fingerprinted on the 10th, called this morning (27th) to notify me that I can pick up my FID+Permits 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). Previous residence 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). When I went to originally pick up my paperwork the desk officer forgot to give me the case number for Morpho-trak. Went back to get the number and scheduled my fingerprinting for the following week in Ridgewood. Before I even got fingerprinted Officer Horn had already sent my references their letters! Was originally quoted at 3 months or so for wait time and it took less than the 31 max required by law so I am ecstatic. Not sure if it helped that one of my buddies is now a LEO in Manhattan though. Everyone I spoke to at the station was extremely helpful as well. -
Yeah, I keep hearing unreal things about the P7 m8/m13 on Hkpro. Thanks for the offer Bry@n! Held one at the shop and well...it melted in my hand. Was alot more comfortable than my buddies glock it seemed. =[ Haha tell me about it! Granted they seem like decent people but...there is literally no crime in this town (not complaining). I do not even hear of petty theft etc. Wish they could get around to finding my driving ticket from years ago so they can approve/deny me already!

Thanks all! Ramapo college is about 5 minutes away from my house. A few friends went there as well and I must say it is a pretty nice area.

What else is on your nightstand?
HKHockey replied to Ray Ray's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Phone, wallet, flashlight. whatever book I am reading that week. Cant wait until I can place a P30 with either a TLR2 w/strobe or w/Viridian on that stand. -
Greetings from Mahwah! Just started shooting a few months ago with my buddy who introduced me to the hobby. Would have hoped to have my own firearm already but as we all know the process in NJ can be a bit...laborious to say the least. My intention is to own a P30 sometime in the near future (I am a lefty) which I hope will be somewhat more enjoyable compared to the police-issued G19 my buddy owns. Wish me luck! Not sure what is taking so long though considering the ONLY thing on my record is a speeding ticket 3 years ago. =/ Found this forum through HKPro.com and will have this site up on my phone and on one of my internet browser tabs from now on! Cya guys around!

Found this through the HKPro.com forums. Lurked for a full 5 minutes. Was prompted to post because I saw a post about Ramsey Outdoor and felt compelled to share a story.

Was not even aware that their were multiple Ramsey Outdoor stores. I live in the town next to Ramsey and decided to stop by with my LEO buddy while he was looking for his off-duty (NYPD) G26 a few months back. Guy behind the counter looked at my friend up and down after he explained his situation and said "Are you really a cop?" even before my friend asked for the price. Needless to say we found this to be incredibly rude and my friend promptly flashed his badge and walked out. Found a genuine mom-and-pop store right across the border in Sloatsburg who helped my friend out immediately and was extremely friendly. He saw me milling about his shop and wanted to know if I wanted to look at anything as well while I waited. Told him I just recently applied for my FID and he took the time to explain alot of the rules and regs regarding transport and his experience as well as a gun-owner. Showed me a bunch of pistols and asked about my personal preferences, caliber choice and even suggested a few that were ambidextrous (I am a southpaw). Will probably use him to purchase my first pistol and one of the suggested FFLs from this site to transfer instead of giving a dime to Ramsey Outdoor. Would rather spend money out of my pocket on transfer fees and gas (Ramsey outdoors is literally 5 minutes from me) to drive further out and build a good report with small shop owners. Just my 2 cents.
