  1. Love my 22/45 and definitely recommend one. I'd suggest getting the model with removable grips though. A few more bucks, but you can then swap in many of the 1911 grips or finger groves (have the Pearce set and really like them) easily to customize look and feel. Yes the assembly process is archaic, but you get used to it. The thing eats everything and you only 'need' to clean it every 1000 rounds or so.
  2. We love crystal and go through a bottle pretty quickly. I generally dislike tobasco, but got turned on to their chipotle variety. Has a real nice smoky flavor.
  3. Welcome. While I dont get too many opportunities to shoot these days with a couple young kids and heavy work schedule, I'm just a few towns over from you. You might also look into the Old Bridge Rifle and Pistol Club (obrpc). Their facilities aren't as elaborate or extensive as central jersey, the fees are lower and its a bit closer. If you organize any thing local, there are quite a few others in the union county area that might get together.
  4. forgot to mention the limits. Also limit of 3 on the Mk ii/iii and 22/45 mags.
  5. CDNN has some decent deals this weekend with free shipping on orders of $49 (code FS49) and a free kershaw knife with order. Ruger 10/22 mags $12.99 Ruger Mk ii and iii (22/45) mags $14.99 Lowest prices I think I've ever seen on them. Just bought a few 10/22 mags, but might pick up a few 22/45 mags at that price.
  6. Looks like you can get the Black Friday pricing on some of the items now, including some of the safes and long guns. Hopefully this link works: http://dickssportinggoods.shoplocal.com/DSG/default.aspx?action=browsepagelarge&storeid=2485946&rapid=2182666&pagenumber=6
  7. I ordered two sets of night sights for two different pistols from them last Black Friday at a better price, but found their customer service lacking. Items showed as 'in stock', they charged my card immediately, confirmed my order immediately, but sent no product or update for weeks. After several unanswered emails I finally got an apologetic response from what seemed to be the owner, but still didn't get any shipment for 2 more weeks. When the order finally arrived they sent me two of the same sights (remember the order was for two different pistols). They wound up crediting me for the mix up but was still a pain in the butt and took close to two months end to end. Maybe my experience was a fluke but I've heard other less than stellar reviews of their service.
  8. It's been out a while in the European market and seems to get good reviews and reliability reports. As said, its a redesigned 391 with an a400 end cap (though to a lower price point). If you haven't checked out the shotgunworld forums, there are lots of reviews there, mostly positive. I had the opportunity to shoot a synthetic version and it handles and points nicely (assuming berettas fit you out of the box) with fairly soft recoil you'd expect from a beretta gas gun, but fit and finish is just average with worse internal machining than id have expected, parkerized finish (not that it was bad, just not a nice polished blued finish) and the LOP spacers fitting/looking pretty funky. Probably would make a great foul weather gun, especially for the price. I passed and am still looking for something different for clay sports. If it winds up being the gun for you, check out Joel Etchen in PA. A month or two ago they had the synthetic stock versions on discount in the $500 range plus shipping. Even with shipping and ffl it was the cheapest option I found and i understand Etchen is known for great service. Just checked their site and they still have it up as 'call for pricing'.
  9. I've been using pieces of hardwood (I prefer maple) cut to the right size with great success. The will deform a little after some good whacks, but never scratch the gun or the sight and can be cut and notched for odd sized or angled pieces too. Maybe because I'm a woodworker and have lots of scraps lying around and tools to shape them, But never found the need to use any of my brass drifts or buy a Delrin one.
  10. Iirc, it's just a thin walled 1/8" hex socket. I replaced mine without the official glock tool, but I don't recall exactly what I used. I think it was just a plain old craftsman screwdriver with the interchangeable bits (obviously used without a bit). I've heard of people using a grinder on one of those types of screwdrivers to thin the wall a bit so it will fit.
  11. Don't remember if it was on slugs as well. It's in their weekly flier which you can view online (link at top of their home page). The birdshot is on the front page of the flier. All the other ammo is toward the back of the flier with the hunting items.
  12. For those still willing to shop at Dicks (no need to debate that here), they have Remington Gun Club shells on sale buy one get one 50% off 12ga or 20ga. At $6.99 a box, that comes out to $5.25 a box for two or $52.50 a flat.
  13. Can you share the details of the shop? Always looking for fairly priced shops with good service.
  14. Not quite as good a deal, but lucky gunner looks to have these on sale for $18.75 with similar shipping costs. http://www.luckygunner.com/case-rifle-sportster-44in-black-lrg-blackhawk-74sg03bk
  15. Pretty sure that's Ewing ave exit off of 208s in Franklin Lakes. Novel, but not worth a drive IMHO.
  16. I just checked their site and see it shipped. Something's clearly not working with my notifications as I never got a single email from them (and yes, I checked my spam folder). Glad everyone could get in on it. For those that ordered earlier in the year and are still back ordered I'd call them to see what's up.
  17. Hmmm, my CC wasn't charged yet and no confirm email. This should be interesting, but not worth getting too burned up if it falls through.
  18. That was quick. gone within the hour. I got lucky and just happened to see it on slickguns and placed my order within 15 minutes. Posted it here immediately afterwards. I contemplated ordering another from a second account I have but figured that would be bad form (and bad Karma). Hopefully my order goes through. For those that think it's not a good deal, you are right it was cheaper pre-panic, but you can't even find it in stock now, and when you do it's often one box limit. I think I got this as a deal for $79 but with a plastic ammo can (thats $19 a box) and I thought that was good....I think hoping for $16.99 a box again is a dream. Plus no tax, gas or time involved here.
  19. It's federal bulk. About as reliable as it gets for bulk ammo. Feeds through any of my stuff.
  20. Nice to see some reasonable pricing. Just placed my order and in stock as of 8:00 PM Monday. Limit 1 per customer. Free shipping with code 383REWARDS Good luck. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Federal-Champion-22-LR-Ammunition-with-Ammo-Can/1214791.uts?avad=48247_c503d597&WT.mc_id=al35987&rid=12&WT.tsrc=AFF
  21. Just went through the checkout, no tax on it even though its listed as a 'vault'.
  22. Thanks for the smooth trade.
  23. Sorry guys, I wasn't going to buy any as im stocked up on .22 and didn't try putting any in the cart. Should have known better to check.
