  1. This story is self-explanatory. If this stands a legal challenge, there could be real problems in the homeland. Pot and firearms don't mix legally at the Federal level. I presume the confiscation could be extended to any users of marijuana, not just medically approved ones.
  2. LOL, yes it's PA. When I looked on their store map I mistook the big green dot in NJ as the nearest store location. It wasn't. It was my house location with a route to Hamburg PA. I didn't bother to read the address. More coffee please.
  3. Looks like they have a store in Hamburg, so they have to charge NJ sales tax. Internet or not. I wonder how long that's been there.
  4. You mean Schmidt's. Of Philadelphia. Right?
  5. So far (four months) all the Blue Apron ingredients have been obviously very fresh. And they way they pack and cool it ensures they stay fresh even for 24 hours after shipment. We had that test. (See below) Yes, the cost is more than a meal you can construct from Shoprite. But for us the point of Blue Apron is they send you the portions of all the ingredients you need for the dish. If you need two ounces of Balsamic vinegar, they send you two ounces of Balsamic vinegar. If we wanted to construct the same menu we'd be searching for hours and have to buy way more than we needed for a meal for two of us, and end up throwing out remainders of exotic ingredients. Just go on their website and peruse the menus. You'll see what I mean. Early on there were shipment problems (wrong ingredients, missing ingredients) and delivery problems (lost shipment, delivered to the wrong address). Every time I pointed out the errors they issued an appropriate credit and apology. We got three or four shipments for free because their carrier (LaserShip) screwed up. But the last several shipments have been on time and correct, so maybe it was just growing pains. They send complete recipe cards with ingredients and instructions. If you like one and want to recreate it, nothing stops you from buying the ingredients all over again on your own. Look, if you want to eat cheaper Blue Apron is not your thing. If you want to experiment with new recipes and ingredients they're pretty good. No fuss, no muss, just some more time dedicated to prep and cook. Based on our schedule we only take deliveries every two weeks at a maximum. We let the orders through when we know we'll be here to cook them and have the time and inclination. I would only add that out of about 40 meals, only three or four have been just 'OK'. The others were 'I wouldn't have thought of that'!
  6. We do Blue Apron too. But only about every other week, or every three. Bottom line: pretty interesting recipes we would never think of. work required to make the meals, but generally we think it's worth it. $10/person/meal.
  7. To wit: 10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes (a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard. (b)The classes of the militia are— (1)the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and (2)the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
  8. Well there's at least one deer in Wisconsin that is very thankful today. He was spotted by a principled hunter, who elected not to shoot him because of age despite that tempting 8 point rack. The buck then decided (in apparent gratitude?) to give the hunter a foot massage. Here's the full story. The video does not lie! Happy Thanksgiving!
  9. Less 20% is $80 for 2. HK Parts wants $70 each! Yes, expensive compared to many other manufacturers' mags. But I like HK handguns. So I do the best I can.
  10. The VP9 15 round magazine is $48 at HK Parts, $49 at the web shop. With the discount mine was $39.
  11. H&K just launched their new web-shop website and has 20% off everything, including barrels, magazines etc. Among other things I just ordered their 2018 calendar and some coffee cups. Shipping on my entire order was about $12.
  12. Personally I think the main problem is the character of judges in U.S. judicial system. If I'm a Supreme Court Justice, I can vote a case either way I want, based on my opinions or others, legal arguments or not, national or international laws, social norms, my grandmother's politics or the color of the tie under my black robe. And no one can do a damn thing about my vote. (Except impeach and remove me from office.) We gave up appointing jurists who demonstrated true fidelity to the Constitution (as written!) and the law (as written!) and starting appointing proponents of like minded policies. The courts are now used as trump cards over the law, common sense, or the will of the people. Consequently we have lost control of a large part of our government and our country. Our 'votes' are mainly symbolic. Of course whether 'the people' abide by decisions is something the courts have no control over. The people still have free will.
  13. Of course it's still legal to ship to NJ. Whether they want to know you have a FPID is optional since the law isn't clear on that point at the moment. When they outlaw Internet purchases within NJ entirely I believe that will be a different story. Just like stores won't ship 15+ magazines here now, the ammo sellers will probably stop honoring delivery to NJ addresses. The value of friends in PA will go up!
  14. Of all the online stores I've ordered from, some do and some don't.
  15. Three store robbers in LA are treated to a hail of gunfire. In the text, notice that one of the robbers was 'released to his parents'. With or without his pistol? Some things you just can't get out of a box of Cracker Jack.
  16. I haven't seen this posted anywhere, but I think this option would be a must-have for anyone with trees on their property, survivalists, or people who live in the woods. And it should be Jersey legal. Can't find this in the statutes. The Chainsaw Bayonet What will they think of next?
  17. I think you all should remember this. For your convenience, 2012-2013 Session Bill A3664: "STATEMENT This bill revises the definition of “large capacity ammunition magazine” to reduce the number of rounds of ammunition a legal magazine may hold in this State. Under current law, it is unlawful to own or possess an ammunition magazine that is capable of holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition. This bill would reduce the maximum capacity of a legal ammunition magazine in New Jersey to five rounds." Emphasis mine. I will not be surprised if they put this forward again. Remember, with progressive Democratics it's always a game of besting their compatriot states. And reducing capacity to a non-existent product is a path to a great back-door ban.
  18. So with all the talk about tax cuts, the stock market, new FED chairman, the national debt, global economies, consumer confidence, consumer debt, crypto-currencies etc. etc. etc., it might help if one understood just where all the global stores of value hang out. Do you think you know? Do you know who's high and low on the food chain? Check out this global visualization of all the major world 'markets', which in this case refers to their monetary value. See any surprises there?
  19. That looks interesting. But I note that it only works on VoIP lines (voice over IP) typically used by cable companies or Internet phone providers. It's no good on the traditional copper POTS line. (Plain Old Telephone Service) Too bad.
  20. "Fixed fortifications are a monument to the stupidity of man." George S. Patton You could also ask André Maginot.
  21. If BJ's sold ammo I'd be rolling in brass! This months coupon book arrived yesterday.
  22. Thanks for that info. We're waiting on Sig to say it's go time for us.
  23. "There's nothing wrong with a little shooting, as long as the right people get shot." Harry Callahan - Magnum Force This explains the progressive attitudes. Just as you see on the subject of free speech.
