  1. I used Comcast cable because my only other choice is DSL and that's far too slow for the bandwidth I use. Cable companies have upgraded their backbones and the cable modem technology to the point where there's no slowdown no matter how many neighbors use it (unless one of your neighbors runs a datacenter or something ). Both FIOS and Comcast have fast internet, just pick whatever gives you the best deal.
  2. Filed as soon as my 2nd W2 came in (switched jobs last year). Should be getting my refund any time now. I usually plan my witholdings so that my refund is minimal, however last year because of switching jobs and a few other circumstances I ended up with a healthy return. Unfortunately I just heard from my current company that they made a mistake on a bunch of W2s and they are sending out ammended W2s. It's only like $3 difference but will have to file an ammended return...
  3. I fail to see how you even jump to that conclusion. So in your mind, just because I get raped I should want others to be raped too?
  4. Yep you got me I'm a basement troll... what exactly does that have to do with anything? Do I want to see this state turn around and be more supportive of business and people in general and not tax everyone to death while infringing on our freedoms? Hell yea. Do I think it's going to happen as is? Hell no. The state has made it abundantly clear in quite a few decisions that if you don't like the way they do business leave, and as such I applaud the companies that do.
  5. Umm obviously you misunderstand. I am saying the state is already there, and I applaud businesses that decide to leave this dump rather than supporting it. That's not an endorsement of the current anti-business practices in this state, on the contrary it's an indictment.
  6. I agree. I really dislike Sons of Guns now because of the bullsh*t drama and the attitude.
  7. The way I see it, and I'm sure many will think I'm wrong or an arse, I really don't give a flying f*ck about giving this state more tax revenue so that business as usual continues. As far as I'm concerned good for any business that leaves NJ. If amazon does this (and they probably will) it's so they can faster serve the NY metropolitan area and because they will get a hell of a lot of tax incentives and benefits (guess who's paying for those!).
  8. Damn, that's a lot of centerfire rifle ammo!
  9. So, I'm curious approximately how much ammo people go through a month, especially people that do a lot of gun games. I'm just starting out with pistols and I seem to be increasing round counts every month. Probably on track to do 1k 9mm and at least that in .22LR this month.
  10. Sweet, more gun shows = good! I feel Top Shot has been really good for further popularizing guns.
  11. You're not even married and you're already super whiped?
  12. I went to pick up a bunch of targets from Karl @ GT Targets in PA (great targets, prices, and Karl is just awesome -- anyway will make a more detailed post about that later) and we got to talking about steel shoots and shooting in general. He gave me a whole bunch of useful tips and info, let me check out his guns and then he told me about the PSA Shootout near Hershey PA Long story short, I checked out the website and it looks like a really fun event. Anybody planning to go to the PSA Shootout: http://www.psashootout.com End of April should give me a chance to practice more and not suck with pistols.
  13. Umm have you seen some of the threads on these forums, not to mention AR15.com But yea I agree with you that more gun ownership is on the rise
  14. Dunno why people think Wegmans is expensive. Usually I find their prices are better on average than either ShopRite or Stop&Shop (the other 2 stores near me). Where Wegmans gets you is that they have a large selection of good stuff and you end up buying more stuff than you would have gotten at the other stores. Dunno just my impression. Also their high end and organic produce is like half the price it's at Whole Foods. Coke >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pepsi Nikon > Canon
  15. What VladG said +gazillion Also, just putting this out there, if any of you guys have Ed Brown products and want to sell them because of this let me know
  16. Now that's funny. Guess Tom should have remembered Internet Foo works both ways.
  17. I have a hard time seeing where anybody argued otherwise.
  18. I would be wrong about which part exactly? The the weaponseducation guy is a whinny douche? That he wants the interview not to promote Ed Brown (lol) but to profit off of it on his website? Or the fact that this won't hurt Ed Brown's business? People that care more about the disposition of the gunsmith than the quality of the gun are a lot less likely to buy top end guns in the first place. Even this douche couldn't help himself in the video to say the guns are great but Ed Brown is an as*hole... LOL most of Ed Brown's customers couldn't give a rats a** about his disposition. Hell, I first heard of Ed Brown back in the late 90s from an armorer in the Air Force. He told me (at the time) if he had to put his life on a 1911 it would be an Ed Brown. That's how Ed Brown's business took off, word of mouth from people like him not some tool on the internet.
  19. I can believe Ed Brown is rude, but this guy in the video is a giant whinny douche. What a tool. Really, he wants the video to promote Ed Brown? REALLY? What an douche, he wants the interview so he can promote his website as having that interview not to benefit Ed Brown. And if I was talking to someone at a convention and someone did the come here motion as if I'm a little boy I'd be annoyed too. I'm all for good customer relationship and support, but honestly this video isn't the right way to address that and also this video isn't going to do jack sh*t to Ed Brown's business. Most people watching this video will be more annoyed at the guy in the video than Ed Brown.
  20. When people make those kinds of ridiculous arguments (like when people say that there will be shootings in the streets over parking spots and traffic if there were CCW allowed in NJ) I usually say something to the effect: "Just because you feel you're morally deraged enough to do that it doesn't mean the rest of us are. Please don't project your own instabilities onto me." In this case it would be even easier since you say she's a devout Christian. All you have to do is to counter with "If I believe that religion can drive a person to commit huge atrocities does that mean I should ban you from practicing your religion?"
  21. I was going to say, that definition fits me to a T Here's a thought. How about gov stays out of regulating both my sex life and my firearm owning. I will never understand on both sides of the spectrum the propensity for hypocrisy. From a legal/constitutional grounds you cannot on one hand support firearm and free speech rights but then turn around and not support people's rights to marry whoever they want. And vice versa!! Morally and personally is a different story but that's not relevant in this context. Boggles my mind that marriage and similar issues became an issue the government had to regulate.
  22. I may try to make this if it works out with my schedule. Been meaning to get into gun "games" and I hear steel shoots are an easy intro. Does anyone know if I need mag pouches for this? I have a holster just don't have mag pouches yet. Also, is there an early orientation for complete noobs?
  23. It doesn't mean they can't become those things. Lots of people move to the suburbs or rural areas looking for those things. If you befriend any of them try to get them to come out shooting with you or fishing etc. Many people will get hooked once they get a taste. IMO the key to keeping our gun rights has less to do with politicians than with ensuring an ever growing population of shooters or at the very least informed/educated on the subject people.
