  1. I'm headed down for a week away with the family in Williamsburg, Virginia. I want to do a little shopping while away for good deals on used guns and maybe a new pistol or two. Does anyone have any recommendations for good stores in the Williamsburg, Richmond, Newport News areas for good gun deals in free America.
  2. When I started driving in NYC as a teenager, I became aware of standard night time pullover procedure. cop A came to the drivers window and lit up te car with his light. Cop B stood at the rear right of the car and lit up from the back. The rear officers gun was Unholstered at his side in case anything went down. Everyone I knew and everyone I knew who was a cop was aware of the sop. And I was driving and 83 Chrysler Lebaron (in 1993).
  3. Did you throw the gun down range?
  4. I do. And I would. I was making the statement that if battle lines are drawn, we may need to be defending our individual rights from people like yaeger and Kessler....not lining up alongside them. I was responding to Shawn's request that all NRA members start mag dumping on Main Street as a show of solidarity. And I was hoping to point out that he may be surprised to find out that other than on the issue of 2A rights, he may be shocked to find out how many people don't agree with him.
  5. This won't happen because not all gun owners and NRA members are a monolithic block. I'm a liberal who owns guns and is pro 2A (anti to pro convert), and I'd never line up with you. I think his video is bad form and makes us all look like lunatics. I have to expend more energy distancing myself from people like him and Yeager than I do trying to evangelize the antis.
  6. Never mind that the guy looks like the president of the Jared laughner fan club.
  7. Now, now...We don't want our cities to turn into shooting galleries....wait....never mind. They already are.
  8. This occurred in Oregon, the same state where a woman called 911 when her ex was banging her door in and there were no law enforcement to respond. So, I'm not surprised they have reserve programs. I'm blown away that they'd issue a fully auto mp5 to a civilian though.
  9. I'd spend the 40 bucks for the license to use the state game land ranges. It is good for te year and they go out to 100 yards and as close as 10 yards or pistols. If you're there on the weekend, this is definitely preferable to sunset hill which is like a mad house.
  10. Always have the five whites on hand: Vodka, Gin, White Rum, Triple Sec, and Tequila(white) Keep a decent well bourbon like Jack Daniels or Makers Mark. I like blended Canadian whiskey for highballs or similar. My grandad used to drink Canadian club so that is what I have. I like Irish whisky and prefer bushmills or Concannon so I usually have that on hand. Fancy liqueurs or cordials I buy for te specific party. Same with mixers.(sour mix, Collins mix, juices and coke). No sense keeping a big bottle of Galliano other than it looks cool. And get a decent shaker set. Blenders are for slushes. Not cocktails.
  11. Unless the current job is a career for you, I'd call the boss up and explain the situation honestly. If he does t care, tell him thanks but I have to take care of business and quit. No notice. Just quit and spend next week getting as much together as you can. OR Don't show up and start getting the shit together and take the test again next year. You will already have everything you need the day you take the test. OR Forget about it. It's not for you.
  12. I think you are giving way too much credit to te general inmate population. What he did is just another day at the office for them.
  13. Being neighborly is a virtue, and cleaning up after yourself is imperative, but this whole 'fireworks are illegal' shit is just nonsense.
  14. There is no duty to retreat INSIDE your home. This business of running away from your home because of nj law is false. The law clearly states that one has no duty to retreat when inside their home, dwelling, etc.
  15. This story is really makin me consider picking up a subcompact 9 for home carry. I don't want to add a caliber so it will be 9. Something easily concealed that can be used either as a primary defense weapon or used to fight to my primary 9 in the box upstairs. Thoughts on glock26, s&w shield, kahrpm9, kel tec pf9, ruger lc9? I need to ease my wife into carrying in the house. She acknowledges that our home isn't as secure as it should be.
  16. Reminds me of freejersey vs the butterfly at OB RDS. macabre. But hysterical.
  17. It is ten bucks for the whole day. Unlimited rides of up to 30 minutes. Come to the city for the day, get a day pass and a bike. Ride to Chinatown, dock the bike. Shop. Eat lunch. Go back and get another bike. Ride to the west village for a latte or some shit. Dick the bike. Come back an hour later and get another bike. Go where you want. Stations are all over below 59th street. That beats a cab hands down. Just be careful. Follow traffic laws and don't hot dog. Highest probability you will be fine. The only people I've seen get doored or drilled are guys who tear ass through traffic and do dangerous stuff. You're not going to be able to ride these like a carbon fiber fixie. I'd do it but my office is in a vortex where the walk from the dock is half the distance I walk from penn anyway. If I move job locations, I will def do it.
  18. This is a valid opinion. By gz's account, he was already out of his vehicle and past the cut in when the dispatcher told him that. After he hung up he turned around and walked back to his truck. If we can assume he isn't lying about the chronology, it is tough to criticize him for disobeying a suggestion from the dispatcher when he was already out of the truck. You CAN criticize him for even getting out of the truck at all. But not in and of itself a criminal act. I think to your earlier point about "standing your ground" One does not Stand their ground by speaking up. One stands their ground by meeting force with force. If gz initiated the physical contact, tm stands his ground but then prevents gz's escape..gz uses justified force in self defense. It isn't a crime to be a moron...which gz is. Personally, if I'm George Zimmerman, I'm not getting out of my car. Foolish. He doesn't know what tm may have in terms of hardware or the physical tools to hurt you. A carried pistol is for the defense of self or others. Saying that George Zimmerman is a murderer because he was in the wrong place and spoke to the wrong person is thin. The law is structured the way it is so that even an aggressor has a means of escape and no one HAS to die. In order for this to be murder and not a self defense shooting they need to prove: either there was no physical altercation that preceded the shooting or that trayvon Martin was not impeding George zimmermans escape during the physical altercation. Short of that, he should be acquitted.
  19. My point is that witness testimony says tm was subduing gz and preventing his escape. There is a physical altercation. If gz is subdued and prevented from escape, it does t matter which one of them started the physical altercation. Gz is still justified in using force under Florida law. The only thing at issue is the mere presence of the firearm without which this altercation likely wouldn't have taken place. And this issue is not relevant to the murder charge since gz's possession was lawful. I am calling the document dump a red herring because it is a distraction from the primary argument of the case. Omara dumped these knowing the judge would limit their accessibility so that the information would reach the jury pool before sequestration.
  20. I don't see how any of this is relevant. If tm was the aggressor, gz acted in self defense under syg. If gz was the aggressor and tm prevented his retreat (eyewitness account says tm was astride gz and beating his head against te pavement...preventing retreat and engaged in an action that would reasonably cause death or serious harm), gz acted in self defense. Florida law is clear. If you are the aggressor and the tide turns on you, you must retreat. If the attacked person prevents your escape...you may use deadly force. This disclosure shit is a red herring.
  21. You have NO duty to retreat inside your home.
  22. Any idea if the kimber pepper blaster is legal to have in manhattan. I want it for my walk from the train to my car at night in Rahway.
