I know it's illegal on a pistol but have heard conflicting opinions on the legality of the forward vertical grip AR or AK type rifles. Does it count as a feature? With the newly enacted laws, has this been updated as well as the mag ban? Thanks.

This pic and story have been around forever. I can't say whether it's Putin or not but they were KGB planted "tourists." Honestly, I really don't care what he was doing at 23. But as President, well...I'm willing to bet they are laughing like hell in Moscow. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/mar/20/vladimir-putin-mystery

Very informative article. He is their Reagan. Only more powerful. We have their Gorbachev. Only weaker.

If you know anything about HBO, or Vice for that matter, you know how anti gun left wing they are. Slightly left of Netflix, Paypal, or the NYT.

There are different lube mixes for different applications. I have some red lube that is very sticky and some blue that is not. Allox and bee's wax is very common. Hot weather, cold weather, rifle, pistol, etc. I cast 30 cal. for milsurps and some 38 wadcutters. There is a wealth of expert advise over at Castboolits. Hope this helps.

Sportsman's Guide To Start Selling Firearms.

That's possible. It's been a few years but they definitely slapped a handling charge on spam cans when I bought them. Maybe because they are heavy, I don't know. I was a paid member at the time, and got their promo email with the free shipping code. I'm not trying to put you off them, but I was surprised when that charge got tacked on at checkout. Otherwise they worked for me. I think I got an upper from them before they stopped AR orders to NJ. -

The shipping might be free but they slap on a handling charge in it's place. -
Tom is one of the most knowledgeable people I've dealt with. I've bought a few and transferred a few with him and it is always an interesting experience. He knows his stuff.

I was thinking the same thing, They sometimes have good ammo prices for 54R but this is NJ after all. -
NJ Compliant Finnish Valmet M62S - What mods do I need?
DFNS111 replied to antiriad's topic in AK Variant Discussion
If it is specifically named on the ban list, it is a non starter and not subject to the three features rule. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a thumb hole stock considered a pistol grip anyway? -
I don't mind a compensated AR but a short barreled 7.62 x 54R will wake you up.

I used an FSC30 on my .300 BLK. Very happy.

I'll second the PWS FSC brakes. I have one on a 17s and one on an AR. They work great and have paperwork to vouch for non flash hiding acceptance. I also have a battlecomp which I think might be a little louder.

Saw one in Ramsey Outdoor last week. Probably not the best price though.

Definitely SCAR 17. I love mine here in Jersey, compliant stock and all. But a PTR 91 is on my short list for coming purchases.

Thank you. I am just getting started with reloading and have been gathering supplies. I don't have a .50 but do shoot .223, .308., 8MM, as well as pistol rounds. Black tip is armor piercing and green tip is a steel penetrator if I understand correctly. I guess surplus European 8MM Mauser that attracts a magnet would be similar to the green tip. A steel penetrator designed to defeat a helmet, but not considered "armor piercing". Please correct me if i'm wrong on this. Thanks again.

I am looking for clarification on permissible rifle ammo. I am a new member and have been purchasing 8mm Mauser ammo. When I go to gun shows to look for ammo, I bring a magnet. Some rounds the magnet will attract to and some it will not. This, I believe indicates a steel penetrator. Much of the surplus ammo available attracts the magnet. It's also the least expensive. Am I correct in that ammo cannot be magnetic such as green tip 5.56 to be permissible at CR? I don't mean steel cased vs brass, I mean the projectile. Thanks.

FFL required for out of state uppers?
DFNS111 replied to DFNS111's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I hadn't thought of that. I don't even have a pistol grip yet, and really want the flexibiliity of doing my own modifications. As long as I don't have the evil three all at once and keep the mags 15 or less. I'll do the lowers last. I have looked at buying non compliant rifles, having the lower shipped to my FFL, and the upper to me for modification. I asked the State police and they said that's fine. Now, where is that Scar17. -
FFL required for out of state uppers?
DFNS111 replied to DFNS111's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Thank you for the welcome and the advice. The dealer emailed me and said no FFL needed. Must have been a standard listing typo. I hear you about the "Constructive Possession" point. I have a couple of Spikes Zombie lowers and was looking at a Spikes upper http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=286618588 No idea if thats a good price. I don't know a whole lot at what Im looking at just yet. I plan on replacing the A-2 FH and pinning and welding a muzzle brake such as this one: http://www.egwguns.com/ar-compensators/ar-comp-post-ban-gen-ii-carbine-w/peel-washer/ to keep the look but stay compliant. I will also pin the stock. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to drop off the lowers to my FFL until I finish the modifications. Just in case. -
FFL required for out of state uppers?
DFNS111 replied to DFNS111's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Thank you for the quick answer. Thats what I thought. But yet I see "FFL required" on GB auctions for uppers. I guess it's just their policy and not state law. -
Hello. New member here from Bergen county. Longtime gun owner here just getting back into it with an AR build. Small CNC machine shop. Was going to complete some 80% lowers but a call to NJ State police nixed that. So I recently purchased some stripped lowers from out of state and transfered through a local FFL. I am now looking at uppers and am wondering if uppers purchased online off gunbroker need to go through an FFL as well. Most places say they need to. I thought just the lowers did, but perhaps because it is from out of state they need to? I have searched around this site for clarification, and have also read through the NJ gun laws post, but remain unsure. What exactly is the deal with uppers in state vs out of state regarding FFL transfer. Also any good instate places that might stock them? I'd love to take a drive and just pick it up. Thanks.
