Transporting Pistol(s) with Optics?
xkon replied to TonyS.'s topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I think you're overthinking it, any case should do. Its on a firearm, it is going to get banged around. Unless its some $30 red dot, you shouldn't have to worry -
Stopped in cherry hill, they allow a 2 box limit

Feet per minute eh? Didn't know I could outrun a 380 and 9mm lol. I believe you mean FPS (feet per second)

Help with change of address for FID
xkon replied to xkon's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Got it. Thanks again. Just out of curiousity, was this changed recently? I haven't applied for permits in awhile and all the previous times the forms for the background checks were filled out/paid for at the local PD. -
Help with change of address for FID
xkon replied to xkon's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Thanks for the reply. When I open up the pdf the two links appear to be broken? They are abbreviated, as shown below, and do not take you to the correct address. Possibly could user error lol, but I will try googling them to get me to the right spot. https://www.njportal...riminalrecords/ http://www.icpsr.umi...RIs/NJoris.html -
So I need to change my FID address/apply for more permits and went to my local PD, Gloucester County. They informed me that it is now being run by the NJSP and I need to go to their website and pay them the $18 and then come back to them with one form filled out and meet with the Chief. I tried looking on the NJSP website and cannot find anything regarding this. It is possible I overlooked something on the site, but if anyone can be of assistance I would appreciate it.

Pistol powder has been hard to find so I thought I'd post this. Powder valley currently has Hogdon HS6 powder in stock

Brownell's had it on sale. Looks like it still is http://www.brownells.com/optics-mounting/scopes/rifle-scopes/ar-15-m16-m-223-scopes-prod54670.aspx?avs|Manufacturer_1=NIKON. BDC reticle is OOS though. I also used the coupon code SSS (dont know if its still valid) and got an additional 10% off of it and the mount

Ended up getting a nikon M223 4-16x. It was on sale for a great price so I figured might as well. Here is a pic of it next to my 14.5 lightweight build. The weight difference between the two is huge, but being a dedicated range gun thats not an issue. While I haven't tested the scope out down range yet, just looking through it the clarity is amazing.

Yes it does qualify for blue label discount

maybe for a pistol ar?

Thanks, saved me $50

good enough to see the bullet holes at 300?
-
What magnification did you get on it? I don't know if 12x would be sufficient for 300 yards or if i should go to 16x

Finished my newest build minus optic. Seekins Billet Lower Geissele Ssa-e trigger Moe Rifle stock Seekins SP223 Upper Ranier Nickel Boron Match BCG Seekins MCSR2 15" rail BCM gunfighter charging handle Harris S-BRM bipod Noveske 20" Varmint Medium barrel Excited to shoot it, but still debating on the optic and would like suggestions. Looking for 12+ magnification. Debating the Nikon p223 or Monarch but open to others. Strictly for the range and would like to shoot 300+ yards

I have noticed this with 9mm range brass, not often but occasional (some S&B brass comes to mind). Most of my other caliber brass is starline and never had an issue with those. Some of the 9mm brass seems a lot harder for some reason? I just put those in my recycle bucket.

how many of you have gone with the more "upright" pistol grips?
xkon replied to n4p226r's topic in AR Discussion
geissele trigger on there ftw. Havent tried those grips but I have the magpul and ergo tactical deluxe and like the ergo much better -

Would this threading be jersey legal?
xkon replied to Polak's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
When you permanently attach a muzzle device to the barrel, it becomes part of the barrel (ex. a compensator pinned/welded to a 14.5" barrel to bring the barrel length to over 16" to make it legal for a non SBR) So i would think that because this is not permanently attached to the barrel it would be safe? this is just my logic, have no idea what good old new jersey would say tho -
They have come back down from the recent scare in the beginning of the year. I would suggest building your own if you plan on upgrading it anyway. It will save you money and you will have exactly what you want

From bad to worse.....story of a squib and a plea for help!
xkon replied to tommyfeds's topic in C&R Military Surplus
I thought squibs can be cleared by firing another round? Completely kidding...What about a brass rod to knock into the wooden one? I guess the lesson is learned but if there is a next time, definitely go with the brass rod first. I have cleared several with them and had no issue -
What exactly is the problem with ejection? Getting stuck in the slide after firing or a stove pipe?

G10 grips? They look nice. I've been debating those grips for mine. How do they feel compared to the stock grip?
