  1. No smell. When it runs out the smoke is crazy, but beyond that nothing of note.
  2. Got ya. I can't find Kero out by me and run diesel in my torpedo. My contractor turned me on to that. A lot cheaper and a lot more convenient. GL
  3. Can I ask what you are using it for? If it is for one of those torpedo heaters, you can use diesel.
  4. My CX4 is a hoot. I hated the space gun look of it before I bought, but I absolutely love shooting it.
  5. I have these on my bikes and they light up the night like day. Have over 50K miles on mine and not a lick of trouble. http://stores.advmonster.com/model-60-led-off-road-flood-light/
  6. But you do have one of the prettiest faces I have ever come across......
  7. I could not disagree more. Spending 6 months of shooting with poor technique, will only make it harder to learn how to shoot with good technique. I always use this example: In any given endeavor, one can take instruction, and take the time to become proficient with good mechanics, or one can take the time to become proficient with bad mechanics. If you have ever been skiing, and know how to ski well, you will see two types of people taking on the challenging terrain or slopes. You will see those who clearly know what they are doing and navigate well and easily. Those are the people who bothered to get trained. You will also see people who navigate the hill and get down safely and even quickly at times. They can ski the hill, but they have horrible technique and have become "proficient" via brute force. Those are people who didn't bother to train. You will see this in many areas. I have sen this in scuba diving, motorcycle riding and racing, flying, etc. You can pick out those who are trained properly, every single time. And almost without fail, those are the most successful, safe and proficient people doing the activity.
  8. I'll add my $.02. Go get training. Go rent the different guns. Then decide. Before I bought my first pistil, I spent about $300 doing the above and it helped me make my choice.

    Only one handgun

Glock 17 And I am no Glock fanboy. I have many manufacturers and love my Berettas.
  10. Good deal. It is an excellent first step. If you would like to have an escort for your first few rides lmk. I will be happy to volunteer.
  11. The bow guy at Heritage Guild in Branchburg is one of the best I have ever known.
  12. Two answers to that: If Philly passed their own rules, they would be subject to this new law. There are state laws that specifically call out "Cities of the first class" which means north of 1 million residents, so those laws are not impacted by this.
  13. Basically this: State law is superior to local statute. It preempts it. Not only that, but in PA it is and has been illegal for municipalities to pass ordinances or laws concerning firearms. In law, you have to have standing to bring a lawsuit. That means in order to sue, you have to be directly affected by the law or statue. This new law expands standing to those not directly impacted. So if town A passes a no firearms in the parks law, an organization, such as the NRA, could bring suit to repeal the law. Additionally, the new law puts in place a "loser pays" clause in there. So if a town puts up an illegal statute, not only can they be sued to remove the statute, but they would have to pay lawyer fees for the complaining party.
  14. Your first bike should have nothing to do with speed, distance, passenger, etc. Your first bike should be a neutral handling, soft power and and comfortably light motorcycle. Ninja 500 is a great suggestion. Buy it used. Get comfortable. Sell it for what you bought it for and move on to the style of bike you prefer. Take the MSF course. Even if you rode dirt, even if your friend who has ridden forever is going to teach you. Best money you will spend is a course. There is all the time in the world to buy a bigger, faster, more whatever motorcycle.
  15. Woodland park has one in the rental fleet
  16. Saw this, thought you might be interested. No affiliation or knowledge of who this is. http://www.armslist.com/posts/3567430/southeastern-pennsylvania-handguns-for-sale-trade--imi-desert-eagle--50ae
  17. I am very remote. First time the mailman came to the door, he was taken aback by the fact that I was armed. I certainly was not pointing my firearm at him, but I also, most certainly, had my hand on my hip when I answered (not opened) the door.
  18. As others have said, totally agree. I do not agree that you should have to be terminal, etc. This really feeds into the notion that we are all special snowflakes and the world would be so much worse without our unique and wonderful presence. Our lives are a blink. If you decide yours should be half a blink, so be it. I am not your judge and neither should anyone else be. The notion of protecting someone from themselves is alien to me. We are each, ultimately, only responsible to and for ourselves. But I am in the minority in that thought process. Ah well.
