Riding a motorcycle to the range

There's no way you can make it 5 miles in NJ before you're face-down on the ground with arms and legs spread. -
Parsippany is fine as a neighborhood, but if you are NOT Asian - you will be in BIG minority.

Hi All, Did a search, didn't find anything - so I wanted to ask: I have a sport-touring bike. It has two hard, lockable sidecases. Is it legal to put a handgun (inside its own case as well) and ammo in the other sidecase and head to the range? If not - no big deal, I just rarely use the car in summer anymore due to gas prices in the last few years. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Besides the guns - be sure to move to Wayne and NOT Parsippany.

Either one is a great choice for being dismissed, brilliant idea. I will get something similar, in case I'm ever picked.

People seem to come in bursts. One time I came in at 7 and waited 20 min. Next time I came in at 5:30 and there was no wait. When I cam out at 6:00 there was a line. You never know.

When Lautenberg re-animates, time to lock your doors, Patient 0 has arrived.

Your FFL should hold it for you until it's up. P.S. For everyone's reference - use this calculator if you are not sure. When it say 31 (!! NOT 30!!) you are good to go. http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

Nice! I was there Sat. - saw it on the "SOLD" shelf. Looked good - enjoy.

To make this thread less depressing, lets post what we actually picked up when you get your call.

My wife wanted to learn archery for a learn time and when this whole ordeal started, i thought it was time. Now we are both hooked. We practice in the backyard and I've set up a 12 yard range in the basement

That's about the only thing I'm ready for.

Get this one if you are serious about home defense - it's $90 a box.: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-4261 -
Have that one too, the tacti-cool one. Also love it. Don't shoot it as much, 30-30 is expensive.

LOL, at 600-800 bucks a pop? I'll give the victory to them on this one My honest opinion - there's no point. There's no great conspiracy going on, they simply DON'T CARE. They are state workers, it's a separate culture. They are not going to get heat from above, because what politician would risk ruining their career in this political climate by stepping out and saying "Hey, lets help people get their guns faster!" Star-Ledger would have a field day with this, imagine how many ways these words could be twisted and taken out of context.

Fear is the most valuable commodity. They are not selling ammo, they are selling fear of living without it.

Nah. Had a better one yesterday - $4.40 a round for 9mm at CTD.

I'm back on the waiting wagon - just completed 30 day waiting period. Let the games begin! After this I gotta lay off buying stuff, till the dust settles.

RTSP has two Rossi's, one in 357 and one was something else. Both have small rails on them. Ramsey Outdoors (Succasunna) has a few Marlins and a $3200 gold Winhcester. Hurry, that one is on sale from $3700

Yet, if you succeed - this solution offers the least legal hassle out of all possible scenarios. I would, however, prefer to just move to a state with a castle doctrine. That said, although I do keep a shotgun for home defense, the probability of someone breaking into my house with me there is close to zero, as is for many people here. It's more of a fear than danger.
