  1. My dad lives in Hightstown and Tavern is one of our watering holes when I am in town. I am actually going to be back in NJ this week through the weekend and I am visiting my dad. May check you out.
  2. if it's the gel beads or those others and not heartfelt I would suggest you try it. Also not saying you do but do not keep the lid of your humidor open for very long.
  3. Oh and by the way use a digital hygrometer if you don't have one already (I read you got the humidor as a gift and that usually means a cheap analog dial hygrometer). I have the round adjustable version, also on heartfelt.
  4. In wintertime, especially when the temps and weather have been as bad as they are it's a real struggle to keep humidity consistent. Best solution I have found and I know a ton of other cigar smokers would agree is the Heartfelt Industries Humidity beads. I can keep a consistent 65-68% with this product. Great investment for your sticks. https://www.heartfeltindustries.com/products.asp?cat=14
  5. That is pretty resourceful, well done!
  6. Allentown is a hole as well. My sister lives in Bethlehem in a nice neighborhood, the place is growing to fast from all the transplants though and you'll see more traffic than you'd have expected. I don't know much about Macungie other than very small town but quaint. I got married there at Bear Creek. Best of luck getting out of NJ, I did it last July and couldn't be happier.
  7. Interesting. Wasn't aware of this. But I do know SC is big on only honoring resident permits vs. non-res. I live in Charlotte right on the NC/SC border and its very annoying for me to have to disarm from conceal carry and put the firearm in my glovebox when traveling across the state line and its often because we are in SC a lot. But we're closing on a house Oct. 9th in SC and I'll be getting my SC CCW as quickly as possible.
  8. FYI, the VA cop cars have radar detectors that will pick up on yours if its on. I know first hand. Here's a simple solution to being pulled over, don't speed. Or at least keep it below 10 over.
  9. It is official! It was extremely hard leaving all of our family and friends but it was definitely the right decision!!! We made it down to NC Saturday afternoon and have gotten most of our stuff unpacked. What a trip! We were up for 40 hours straight between Friday and Saturday. And we are exhausted but really like our temp apartment and the area. Driving a Penske truck is brutal! We're currently in Charlotte but will be buying right across the state line in SC. I smirked a little bit when I first jumped on the forum just now and saw the new posts while realizing I don't have to deal with any of this crap anymore. Not gloating, just really happy. I'll pop in from time to time but won't spend much time here anymore (need to learn all the NC/SC laws), but wanted to thank you all for the great community and all of the help and topics you've posted about. It's all been a tremendous help. Best of luck fighting the good fight and I hope for all of your sake that things get better and NOT worse. Now I am off to peruse the Internet for an upper to complete my AR that I don't have to neuter and pick up some 30 rd mags! (Sorry not gloating again).... Take care everyone!
  10. Why in the world would a rifle like that be banned? Why are Norinco's (I am assuming they look like this rifle)? Just curious, not aware of the background.
  11. I actually have both of the PDFs from handgunlaw.us for FL and UT saved in iBooks. Yes I know SC doesn't honor either of those permits non-resident but we are living in NC first for a couple months then buying a house in SC. I will of course be getting my SC permit when the time is right. I'm sure real Carolinians are probably sick of all the Nj/NY folks storming their states, hell I am tired of seeing NY plates all over here in NJ. I surely hope it doesn't turn into the Northeast down there, I am going down there to get away from the northeast (amongst a hole list of other reasons)!
  12. Cool just wanted some confirmation on that since I haven't done it before. Thank you.
  13. I am one week away to the day from leaving NJ to my new home in the Carolina's. As I plan for our trip down I wanted to gather some facts from those of you who have their FL or UT permits and have traveled with them , even better if you've driven south. Am I correct that once I hit Virginia I can carry my gun concealed on my person while in the vehicle as well as when we stop for gas and such? Given that VA and NC have reciprocity which means their laws are similar in nature and legality as with FL or UT's, I can carry. We're taking I-95 down to I-85 to Charlotte where we'll be staying short-term as we look for a house, and since we have to go through DE (legal), MD (illegal) and D.C. (Illegal) I figured that I would just wait until we hit VA to carry. We're driving overnight so I definitely want to be protected. I will also take a look at the VA and NC firearms laws site regarding transportation. Thanks.
  14. Real person? Define please? That bitch should get way more than a ticket, and as someone posted above its high friggin time we stop saying "oh I am not surprised" and these asshats are held accountable. Ridiculous.
  15. I just have to laugh at some of this..... that is all....
  16. good response, I agree with everything you said. I think about what kind of a country/world my 2 yr old daughter is going to have grow up in and survive.
  17. Back when I was in college I moved to AZ to go to Arizona state and the day before I moved I went to visit my dad in Hightstown to say goodbye and I had removed my front plate knowing my car was going on a tow dolly. Well, driving through Washington Twp. Up rte 130 I was almost to hightstown and a cop going the opposite way pulled a u-turn and pulled me over. Ticketed me on the spot for it! I was so pissed, but I did have a yellow slammed VW GTI with chrome rims so he probably figured some punk kid. I don't know if SC requires a front plate or not but I sure hope not. I've always hated the front plate.
  18. I had two dogfish ipa's today after we got off the boat, mmmmmmmmm....
  19. Never heard of it. What brewery makes it?
  20. For 2 years straight my cousin and I would go in together on about $1k worth of fireworks and would give the neighbors and family members a big show then the third year we got shut down by the Manahawkin police because a neighbor called and complained. Usually there's too many people shooting off fireworks at the shore towns for them to do anything about it but this was 2-3 years ago when we had that long drought of no rain for weeks and everything was dry, so it was understandable. We were just glad he didn't confiscate them, the bed of my truck was loaded with fireworks. It was a good time. We were always safe (minus a stupid mistake my cousins good friend made where the large rocket he lit wasn't anchored well, tipped over and shot right towards someone's house right as the cop pulled up). He was not allowed to light any more after that. (They live in mud city so it's on the bayside and we were lucky). It was good times while it lasted but not worth it anymore. There's a house by us in Manahawkin that must spend at least $2500-$3000 on a show, majority of it being mortars. Every year! He gives a show to all around the neighborhood. We're going to be on the boat this 4th of July so maybe the Trenton Thunder will have a game and light a few off.
  21. What exactly does "legal notice" mean? Is this just a warning saying if you try to proceed with the bill then you'll take action?
  22. I thought maybe you were going for "a happy ending". I can't say that I pay too much attention to mosquitoes to know the difference, I just kill them. I have a few welts on me now from this weekend. My poor daughter has some serious ones on her arm.
  23. I am in the same boat, took class same day, still waiting. They cashed my check April 18th and I have yet to receive it. Got my FL permit beginning of this week.
  24. I have a cleaning lady (polish) as well but her and her other employee are phenomenal and they do the same (stack any change). My friend referred her to me, he used her for 9+ yrs no problems. She is based in Florence though and tries to lump all her Hamilton jobs in as few days as she can.
  25. Thats a shame, great actor, will be missed! R.I.P
