  1. Unfortunately you'd be wrong-I specifically told my boss why I took off on 2/8 and where I'd be. Of course he had to call me on my way there to ask about business continuity on account of the crappy snowstorm. After the Assembly vote, I had a sit down with him to discuss a move to AZ in the next 4-5 years-even though I will continue the fight, he knows where I come down.
  2. FYI-you need only get print cards, and "an" NRA safety class cert for AZ. When I called the wonderful gal in AZ Public safety, she adamantly said "we cannot specify the type and scope of the safety training class for issuance of CCW. It just must be NRA or equivalent issued".
  3. Sounds like because not on residence property was the cause for arrest-because possession is exempted for residence, range, or hunting-and direct transport to/from. Place of business possession is generally narrowly accepted to only be for business owners. LE decided to pursue BS charges. And yes, every Gamo Whisper is illegal in NJ. Even though they are not one damn bit quieter than any other pellet rifle.
  4. Reading some of the comments in the "Essex" thread got me thinking-how the F would this work? Meaning, if I move, I need to update my DL address. Takes about 10 minutes at the DMV if I want a new license instead of the stickies. If I move, in order to update my FPID, I need to go through the ridiculous background and mental health search-AGAIN. So are we to believe that this process will do away with the HUGE wait to get an updated FPID, or will they DENY your DL address update because your FPID updates would not be "approved"? Although I suspect this is all just a moot point-because the FPID is not being REPLACED with the DL endorsement-it's just another way to demonize firearms owners, and otherwise make them guilty criminals with the "Scarlet F"...
  5. Me. Have had my FPID since 1999, and quite honestly, aside from buying some ammo (and not shooting it) when I visit Cabela's every year after Xmas--hadn't given it much thought. I am now THOROUGHLY ENGAGED in this fight, and have gotten others (like my wife who now has an app in for her own FPID and P2P) to join as well. I too would like to know what the # of firearms owners in this state is up to, and if they've taken my position: I am now officially a ONE ISSUE VOTER.
  6. WTF is that supposed to mean? I'm sorry, but I always though FEDERAL trumps LOCAL.
  7. How's this for helpful? I took what I believe are most if not all of the "new" bills proposed after the 2/26 committee, looked up and added the phone numbers for each of the sponsors. Emails weren't listed on the page, but it gives you the option to send to them from the NJ Legislature page. Today I called Fuentes, Quijano, Singer, and Vitale. I'm saving the gems like Mainor, Cryan, O'Donnell, Jimenez, and Buono for tomorrow when I have more time. And by the way--WTF is the "prohibits installation of gunfire locators on utility poles" supposed to do? Wouldn't that be "common sense"? A3919 Fuentes (D5) (856) 541-1251 (Camden) Requires State Police to produce brochure summarizing law governing transport and possession of firearms; requires MVC to make brochure available to new State residents registering vehicles. A3973 Cryan (D20); (908) 624-0880 (Union) Quijano (D20) (908) 327-9119 (Elizabeth) Disqualifies persons with three drunk driving or refusal convictions in five years from purchasing firearm. A3974 Cryan (D20); (908) 624-0880 (Union) O'Donnell (D31)(201) 436-0961 Prohibits persons with certain disorderly persons convictions from purchasing firearm. A3995 Mainor (D31); (201) 536-7851 Jimenez (D32) (201) 223-4247 Prohibits installation of gunfire locators on utility poles. A4001 Mainor (D31); (201) 536-7851 (D1); Jimenez (D32) (201) 223-4247 Requires firearms endorsement on driver's license or non-driver identification card. S2630 Buono (D18); (732) 205-1372 Vitale (D19)(732) 855-7441 Reduces the maximum lawful capacity of ammunition magazines; prohibits possession of certain firearms having a caliber of 50 or greater. S2642 Singer (R30) (732) 987-5669 Establishes penalty for failing to report unintentional discharge of firearm in private residence. S2648 Vitale (D19); (732) 855-7441 Rice (D28) (973) 371-5665 Upgrades penalty for unlawful possession of certain firearms on grounds of an educational institution. S2659 Ruiz (D29); (973) 484-1000 Cunningham (D31) (201) 451-5100 Requires county prosecutor to apply for revocation of convicted person's firearms purchaser identification card or handgun permit. S2663 Madden (D4) (856) 232-6700 (Turnersville) Prohibits possession of ammunition capable of penetrating body armor.
  8. You're taking it as a personal attack, and turning it back on me. I'm posing a serious question: Exactly whom am I supposed to register to vote? Where do I find these unregistered voters? I truly don't know any. And quite frankly, my efforts are aimed at spending time on the phone calling legislators who aren't even in my district, taking days off of work to attend rallys and committee hearings, and speaking directly with "swing voters" who may be supportive of our cause, but have been reluctant to do so--please don't suggest that I don't have "another level of conviction". It's patronizing.
  9. It's also called an illegal transfer if they took possession of it from its intended destination. If they want to classify it as a "firearm".
  10. I just ordered ammo from Underwood--they have a list of "State Restrictions". Their only one for NY is for NYC, which must go through FFL. Don't know if this helps.
  11. I feel for y'all in Essex, but the story is so much bigger than just that--The story is that the LAW is that FPID's MUST be issued within 30 days. Period, exclamation point. They cannot play it "fast and loose" on the same 30 day window to issue permits, (no matter what stupid "in the interest of public safety" because it suits their agenda) and then play it "within the letter of the law" for OGAM. I'm on day 46 here in Hunterdon, and was "prepped" by the Trooper that the wait is 3 months...Unacceptable. It is NOT our issue that increased demands should be an EXCUSE for delays of a Constitutional RIGHT. NJ willfully bottlenecks the process in the 1966 paper based system. I ask every single person who doesn't feel the "need" for firearms how they would feel if they had to go through a waiting period to go to church, after undertaking a background check and a mental health records search.NICS is the other story--The fact that NJ's deliberate privitization and monetization of the FEDERAL background check system that to my knowledge, NO OTHER STATE IN THE UNION FACES is inexcusable.

    NICS checks

No. Dicks just doesn't want to sell anything related to firearms.
  13. Nope. Haven't had so much as a parking ticket in over 20 years.
  14. Today is day 45 of address updated FPID and a single P2P here with the Honorable Kingwood State Police. They tried to prepare me for a 3 month wait. I'm getting irritated.
  15. Anthony Colandro a reporter? It's called Gun For Hire radio. Should be required listening on all of your devices...
  16. I'm SO happy that Mikey is now being blamed for this. SO happy. But Harpo Cuomo is the typical response: Blame someone else for bad choices.
  17. And THIS, my friends, is why we created a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, and NOT a Democracy. But the Republic has gone the way of the dodo.
  18. Dude I'm 41. I don't know anyone who's NOT registered to vote. And I'm certainly not going to go out trolling the high schools to find them. I can't even get my own 70 year old Mother to understand that these bills would make me a felon.
  19. I'm with you--I missed the committee hearing, but burned 1 on the rally. I will burn every single other one I have to fight these with every fiber of my being--even though the wife and I already making plans to beat feet to Arizona in 3-4 years.
  20. And that's what I was told by at least 15 different people: Don't worry about it. I answered in the negative as stated above with my STS33 address change and P2P that's now on day 45.I myself have all transcripts of court appearances, including the judge getting royally pissed for the manipulation of the system, and him fining her for contempt. (Which I'm sure she never paid a dime of) FishNHard just got my blood pressure back up with this topic...Thanks Fish!
  21. Their issue is that these emails were "ordered" to be sealed--thus the prosecutor is looking into it. However, this appears to be evidence tampering, and obstruction of justice, since the emails were EVIDENCE OF THE RELATIONSHIP THAT CRYAN DENIED. I expect....Nay...DEMAND that heads roll over this--and I'm not just talking about Cryan's. But I'll be willing to bet that Cryan will pull a "Chuckie Mainor", and blame the release of the emails on "vindictive gun owners".
  22. I find it hilariously sad, and disturbing that there's even an INTEREST in finding out "who did it", as opposed what HE DID.
  23. And even in the event that any allegations are dismissed, NJ can, and WILL still move for a weapons forfeiture hearing. Every. Single. Time.
  24. Just like the proposed terrorist watchlist bill. The "remedy" is in the form of having to lose money taking time off of work to go to court, and possibly pay a lawyer to defend in the appeal. I am not litigious by any means--but the fact that someone, anyone, can file some form of complaint against another person with no repercussions, and that false complaint will follow someone around is insane to me. The very fact that an expungement would even need to take place is ridiculous-if there's no conviction of any illegal activity, then THAT essentially means that whatever the person is accused of never happened.
  25. Correct--which is why I answered "no" to all of the appropriate questions. But yes, I fear the catch all, because we feel like it "in the interest of public safety". It's ludicrous to think that anyone would have to take time off of work, perhaps retain a lawyer, to appeal a RIGHT, given that the court system ALREADY decided that there was no grounds for "the interest of public safety". I'm not litigious, but I want to know who to sue should anyone (including myself) arbitrarily decide that they can take it upon themselves to change the rules.
