  1. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_Act_(Jamaica) I wouldn't bring them if I were you.. Lol Btw, it literally took me less time to google it than it did for you to write your post
  2. I think my monitoring is $42 with smoke/fire/co monitoring as well.. And no contract (anymore).. The one downside is that it's impossible for me to get rid of my landline while I have it since its an older model.. We don't use our home phone for anything but that. Our line is horrible and only use our cells to call anyone..
  3. I'm going to call the woman tomorrow and see what i need to do.. Maybe they will just print a new one up and I can pick it up when it's done..
  4. OK, have to ask this. In all the excitement in finally getting my FPID, all of my personal information was correct on it, but I just noticed one error on it. The Issue date shows 5/22/13. Obviously, that date is in the future. The date probably should have been 2/22/13. Is this going to be a problem? Do I need to have them re-print it with the correct date, or is the fact that I have one with an ID number on it good enough for most places? in particular, if i have to email my FPID to an online retailer (such as Ammunition Depot, who require it before they ship ammo to NJ), will they reject it because it has the wrong date on it?
  5. OK, im reading through this, and im still confused... if i buy a gun that comes with a 16 round mag, and I have it sent to an FFL, that FFL can pin the mag to a legally acceptable 15 round limit and i can then take possession of that gun with the "now NJ legal 15 round mag".. is this correct?
  6. ok, to clarify, then it was a stun gun, not a tazer.. since we dont have them here, i can never keep them straight still crazy that they allowed her on a plane with a weapon like that.. maybe they are more "lax" in Indiana.. lol
  7. really good to know that TSA is keeping our skies safe, eh?
  8. OK, this isn't a link, but a true story as it happened to my wife's friend.. This happened about 4 or 5 months ago.. My wife has a friend that lives in Indiana who was coming for a visit to our house. She was flying United Airlines (I believe) and got to Newark just fine. When she got to our house, we were talking about self defense, and she casually mentioned that she carries a tazer around with her (not illegal in IN) and my wife thought that was so cool since you cant even own one here.. The woman then went to get her purse and pulled out the tazer, in its case.. Sure enough, we opened it up and there it was, in full functioning order. This is the same purse she had with her when she got off the plane. So, how the f**k did they let her get on a plane with a tazer? Needless to say, we told her that it wasnt even legal to own one in NJ and that she was not being allowed (by us) to try to get back on the place at Newark with the tazer in her purse since she could be arrested for carrying it in NJ. We ended up shipping it back to her separately after she got home. Seriously, doesn't that sound like some seriously gross negligence by airport security in Indiana? Hell, we thought about telling this to the press, but we figured we didnt want her to get in trouble for having it in NJ, so we thought better of doing that.. Crazy man, just crazy.. And yet, you cant bring liquids on the plane..
  9. a) people put the pen in the trigger area to prop it up and put it at an angle so you can see it easier in the pic b) use Image Shack and link the image in your post.. http://imageshack.us/ (its free).. and they give you a direct link to your uploaded image to post on forums..
  10. they may take exception to your "suggestion" to hire more employees.. lol fact is, even for items that were in stock (or ARE in stock) at this time, almost all places are so backlogged with shipping that its taking them an additional 3+ weeks to ship things out.. i've seen it on almost all sites i've gone on..
  11. +1 for that.. i love all our vets/current soldiers.. they've made the country what it is (at least the good parts..lol)
  12. It's funny you say that.. When I first decided to get my fpid, I figured I would only get 1 permit so I could get a 9mm semi, but thought maybe it was a good idea to apply for 2.. Now I wish I would have applied for 3.. I already have my 2 permits planned out so I won't have any left over for a "great deal" or something.. I think once I use my 2 up, I will immediately apply for another 3 right away.. Ive also heard that if you apply for more within 6 months of your initial application they don't need to re-do the background or mental health check (don't know if that's true, can someone shed light on that?)
  13. probably true Pete, although i dont know if that's the best way to go.. lol im lucky.. my wife has had her FID and her 38 for longer than ive known her (15+ years). its not that she's massively interested in guns, but she is certainly not against them and not against me getting some. in fact, she just told me the other day "spend what you need to to get what you want" when i was waffling on buying that excessively overpriced CZ.. in the end, i had her blessing to overspend to get it, but i decided it was not what i wanted to pay for it (decision is killing me, but hey, gotta be a LITTLE financially prudent).. but just knowing that i wont get any crap from her if i overpay a bit for it makes me feel good.. and then im going to get a M&P22 so that she has something with light recoil to use.. (she even said "i like the look of that one") its funny, even she (who is not an anti) said previously that no one needs an "assault weapon" (referring to the AR's and such) until she watched the Hannity segment with Jessie Duff and she showed the differences in the rounds.. actually, it was then that she decided that a) we needed a shotgun and b) she changed her stance on the AR's, etc. sometimes their minds can be changed by the strangest things (or they just need someone who isnt their husband to explain something to them in a way they can "get it")
  14. hey hey.. well done.. drinks and wings AND power restored.. nice Howell - windy and a bit of rain.. not too bad.. wind makes me more nervous than anything because i have a ton of trees
  15. they cost the same for memberships once you get past the first year capital expense.. and you can then go whenever you want for however long you want and even have access to the indoor pistol range 24/7.. im not a member yet, but i am thinking once I get my "collection" up a bit, it will definitely be something i look at joining (CJ).. and the immediate family are free (so i wouldnt have to get another membership for the wife if she wanted to come) ammo is going to be an issue no matter where you shoot..
  16. I am monitored by connective home (called something different now) and I get a call within 30 second when I trip the alarm.. edit - its now called My Alarm Center.. they've been pretty good since i've had them (since 2003)
  17. Hamilton (work) just breezy and a little rain.. Nothing too bad yet..
  18. its not because Christie vetoed it (which is what he said he would do from the very beginning).. which means it will go on the ballot in November.. Christie agreed to raise it a bit and then give COLA adjustments, but the Dems didnt really want that, they just want ammunition against Christie...
  19. last time we changed addresses, we just got a sticker to put on the back of the DL until renewal came up and then you have to get a new DL. They did not punch a hole in the DL simply for a new address (in fact, it was done online and sent through the mail - the stickers). once you get a new DL, then they may punch a hole in the old one.. but i would hold off on doing that until its actually up for renewal (or until you get your new FID)
  20. think he's actually down in south jersey (near little egg harbor/mays landing) according to his home range (estell manor) dont know if OP is on the wind up or a troll or being serious.. but im pretty sure that a Kimber manual will not tell you to soak the gun in a water/ammonia bath.. seems to me like it would have been better if he/she just didnt clean it after that first test.. (not optimal, but neither is soaking it in water)..
  21. wait, you can afford 1100+ for the gun, 40 for a range bag and ammo, but you cant afford 30 or 40o for a simple cleaning kit? come on.. you gotta be taking the piss...
  22. as far as i know, all towns "require" it.. (technically)
  23. DSD1026
