10 worst states for gun rights... guess who is #10
NEAHS replied to ryan_j's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
+1 This was explained by Evan Nappen on this weekends broadcast of Gun for Hire Radio. The way the statue is written, you need a carry permit to own a handgun. Unless you meet the exemptions. Go listen to GFHR broadcast #141. -
FINALLY the NRA is stepping in and helping
NEAHS replied to notmetoo's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
+1 A lot of people do not realize that the NRA does help NJ through money giving for the different court cases. The problem with the NRA is that they do not make most of this info public, like Antony Colandro has stated on Gun for Hire Radio. -
10 worst states for gun rights... guess who is #10
NEAHS replied to ryan_j's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
It's actually a correct statement! Go to this link http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/66145-gfh-radio-141-nappen-talks-pantano-and-panteleon-is-ccw-coming-to-nj/ click on the player and listen to the program.Evan Nappen explains how NJ gun laws work and how we are allowed thru exemptions to possess our firearms. -
x1,000,000,000 Like some have said: " NJ gun owners are our own worst enemy". Here we have some that are so afraid of big bad NJ gun laws, that they are even afraid of laws that do not exist.

School Zone laws are Federal. With that said, some states also place laws on top of the Fed Laws. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun-Free_School_Zones_Act

excellent op-ed in today's Star Ledger
NEAHS replied to sage613's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
If you are forced by law to take a class, then yes anyone here would take the class. I don't believe you should be forced to take a class to exercise a Right. Just because someone takes a class, does not mean that person will be any safer. -
+1 Couldn't agree more!

NJ Senator Mike Doherty intorduced legislation
NEAHS replied to NEAHS's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Another post on Mr. Doherty's Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/mikedohertynj/posts/10152181023522748 "I reintroduced the "Citizens' Protection Act" yesterday, which revises and simplifies the procedures for securing a permit to carry a handgun in New Jersey." Got to give him credit! He's trying! -
Great Amercian Outdoor Show - Feb 1-9 Harrisburg, PA
NEAHS replied to T Bill's topic in Events & Meetups
I believe it is Tony. But it was not organized by the NRA last year. I can't remember the name of the company that ran it last year. Reed Exhibitions ( Headquarter in the UK ) ran it last year. It was named Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show. -

NEAHS replied to T Bill's topic in Events & Meetups
Yeah, PA gun laws ( while much better than NJ ) still have many restrictions & exemptions. They are by no means the best in the US. -

NEAHS replied to T Bill's topic in Events & Meetups
It's is, but like every other gun law it has restrictions/exemptions. And what you want to do is either restricted or does not meet the exemptions. Go to this site and look into the Concealed/Open carry section of the site, start of by reading the stickies in the OC sub forum. http://forum.pafoa.org/ I'm hoping Vladtepes sees this, he will be able to set the record straight since he lives in PA. -
NJ Senator Mike Doherty intorduced legislation
NEAHS replied to NEAHS's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
It will make no difference for obtaining a carry permit. But it will give people another avenue to obtain FPID & P2P if you have to deal with a state police barracks. We know how they are with issuing in a timely manner. And if "justifiable need" is struck down, it's another place to apply for the carry permit. He is trying. Better than the rest of them that are trying to take away our rights! -
Senator Mike Doherty posted this on his facebook page today! https://www.facebook.com/mikedohertynj/posts/10152176014617748 "I introduced legislation this week that allows county sheriffs to issue firearms identification cards and permits to purchase handguns and authorizes county sheriffs to accept applications for permits to carry handguns." We should reach out to him and thank him for his continued support of the 2A! He can be contacted by: Phone: (908) 835-0552 Email: [email protected] Web site: http://doherty.senatenj.com

Great Amercian Outdoor Show - Feb 1-9 Harrisburg, PA
NEAHS replied to T Bill's topic in Events & Meetups
I'll wait for one of our PA members to chime in to confirm this. But you would not be allowed to OC because PA has transport laws similar to NJ. Were you can transport a firearm in an automobile if you are going from your home to the range, dealer/gunsmith, hunting, your business, or other property you own. So driving from NJ to the event, taking your firearm out of the automobile strapping it to your hip to OC is not one of the exemptions. Unless you have a PA LTCF or carry permit from a state with reciprocity with PA. -
I seen what you did there!
