  1. Is there such a thing as too pretty to shoot? Anyhow, congrats...and let all of us know how it goes....I'm sure there are more here than me who have been tempted by a black powder revolver, but haven't yet pulled the trigger...
  2. Sounds like fun! Keep us posted!
  3. Sorry.....last one was fun, but can't make this one!
  4. Thanks! Bummer - can't use it...........
  5. I just tried the last 'free shipping' code - no dice; expired. the only code i have is CLUBFIVE, which is $5 flat shipping (regular shipping is $5.95)
  6. Price not wonderful, but they're in stock - Sunday 10:45 am 24 November $8.49/100 for hollow point $8.99/100 for solids http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Rimfire-Ammunition%7C/pc/104792580/c/104691780/sc/104536080/CCISpeer-22-Rimfire-Ammunition/705571.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1100192%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253BBRprd705571&WTz_l=SBC%3BBRprd705571%3Bcat104536080
  7. Interesting point - house is surrounded, everyone's out of harm's way, no way in or out...where's he gonna go?
  8. I did a bing.com search - Only things I saw were a youtube video and an exploded view from Numrich Arms http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5Mxb33JBsU http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/SavageStevensSpringfieldFox-33479/Shotguns-40503/124B-41265.htm This thing is unbelievably complex!
  9. But this begs the original question....if Oswald had nothing to do with the Kennedy assassination, WHY did he shoot officer JD Tippit? And we then come full-circle. If Oswald was a patsy, as he tried to claim, he sure acted pretty guilty after the assassination. He didn't run home to get his revolver; he had it with him. He didn't stay at work; he ran and went looking for a place to hide. So I am not a lawyer, but as a minimum, I think Oswald's a slam-dunk on conspiracy.
  10. Um...there's also the matter of Officer JD Tippit....
  11. I had three of four wisdom teetpulled years ago with just novacane. when the dentist looked at me, his comment was 'this can take 45 minutes or three hours, and we won't know until we get started.' I was out of there in a little more than an hour.
  12. Another idea - when my wisdom teeth were removed, I was told the tannic acid in tea leaves was excellent for promoting the clot, and to place some moistened tea, in its handy filter container - over the location. Note I will NOT say the name here, to avoid the commentary... I've also got to think about it SOON, since I just broke a molar.....is it an epidemic????
  13. Nice photos of the 'single bullet' here. Note that its rifled, a little dented, the tail is squashed, and its got a bit of a bend to it...far from 'pristine'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_bullet_theory
  14. Sportsman's Guide is the same way on black powder. I can understand not shipping the firearms, but they won't ship bullets, either. Makes no sense.
  15. I remember reading an assessment years ago written by a rifleman; not a journalist. He was of the opinion that at the distances involved, he doubted Oswald used the scope; he believed he used the iron sights. The scope was on a side mount; the iron sights were unobstructed. In his opinion, the scope was a cheap piece o' junk and at the 60-75 yard distance, an unnecessary hindrance. Like I mentioned earlier, my visit to Dealey Plaza was an eye-opener...from the various photos and television shows about the assassination, I thought the distances involved were MUCH greater. The distance from the Book Depository was under 100 yards; the "grassy knoll" was close enough to be a pistol shot. Just like everyone else, I can't say that Oswald was the "only" shooter. That answer will likely never be definitively known. What I can say for certain, at least for me, is Oswald COULD have been the only shooter.
  16. Well...........I'll have to say I USED to buy-into the theory that Oswald couldn't have made those shots. Until about ten years ago, when I was in Dallas, and drove thru Dealey Plaza, where the deed was done. As I was driving (and I stopped to take a look, too) all I could think was "easy shot". Yes, IMHO, he could have done it...especially since several of his neighbors mentioned they used to hear/see him practicing running the bolt on that carcano.
  17. I'd be sorely tempted to hook a chain to their truck and drag it off 'somewhere'....after all, its parked on public land...
  18. Too much light and blockage - shudda gone to the back 40 to watch

    Girl guns

The same question was just asked on Facebook - in 'NJ Guns For Sale'. My comments there are the same for here (copied from FB) Ruger has several different colors, including pink, for their LCP and LC9. I, for one, would never buy one...they look too much like a child's water pistol. Take a look at the Ruger web page under 'dealer exclusives'... If you have little kids in the house, you DONT want one of the pink or lavender Rugers....they look too too toy-like and I can see nothing good coming from that combination.
