  1. I have my eye on a very odd Garand. It is chambered in .308, uses a detachable magazine, and has a scope mounted on it. I did some research and I think it's a reissue by Springfield armory Inc from circa 1982. The only thing throwing me off is the serial # 1773994. Everything I've read say the reissue models serial #'s start with 7xxxx. The receiver is stamped US Rifle CAL 30 M1 Springfield Armory 1773994 Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Thanks I checked this morning. It appears they added more slots to the existing classes. I was able to snag the last spot on 8/28.
  3. Well you can't just sign up. I have been checking the site daily for a week and all the quals are booked through the end of August. The site says they are adding more dates soon but nothing has been added in the past week.
  4. I believe the requal is free to anyone who took their qual at GFH. Not just members
  5. The Cync dimmers say they are LED compatible so I'm hoping for at least something I find acceptable. I imagine this ban does not apply to theatrical lighting. If it does the lighting designer is really going to earn his paycheck.
  6. I would purchase out of state just to deny NJ the tax revenue.
  7. My problem with LED bulbs is they don't dim near as well as incandescent. I have mostly dimers throughout my house. I have a few LED G 10 bulbs in a fixture that dim barely acceptable. The halogens are far superior. I received a freebee pack from JCP&L a few months ago that had a few standard Edison LED bulbs that said on the packaging dimmable. They didn't dim at all. Once I dropped the voltage they would blink rapidly or shut off. I'm running Cync dimmers and changed the settings to use LED bulbs and once that failed I tried both incandescent and halogen and nothing worked. I want to try top of the line LED but if they don't dim to my standards I will return them. I guess Amazon will be the way to go. Anyone out there have experience with dimmable LED's?
  8. Going to have to wait for the lawyers to clear that one up. An asterisk at the end of a form may not be legally binding. Don't get me wrong as I really do not want to pay for a holster draw class just to take a qualification I passed less than a year ago so I hope that anyone who already has a permit doesn't have to do any of this till renewal.
  9. Can someone steer me to which PDF the State released today where it says this?
  10. Quoting my own post because I never reported back in a timely manner. apologies. These were quite good, well balanced and quite sharp. We have used them a few times and the edge has held up but the target is a slice of a log, not plywood. For the money I recommend them.
  11. According to PA state law they are required to issue. Some refuse knowing that the applicant will just go to another county because it's cheaper than filing a lawsuit. I have heard that a sternly worded letter from an attorney works also.
  12. They know we will seek an enbanc ruling from the entire court if the decision is not favorable so it may be that they will decide on a compromise According to gun for hire radio if the decision does not go our way the attorneys plan to appeal to SCOTUS and skip enbanc.
  13. Have the judges for the third circuit panel been announced yet? over on Facebook New Jersey firearm syndicate they're saying it's the same three that issued the stay if that is the case we're hosed
  14. I might do it for a million up front. That's my price but I'm easy.
  15. A few friends and the lovely Cindy and I went out for dinner last night and as always I was carrying. I knew the establishment we were visiting has a liquor license so I knew thanks to the recent decision I would have to leave my self defense firearm locked in the safe of my car. When we arrived much to my dismay the establishment only offered valet parking. What to do? There is no nearby street parking so I dropped off my party and drove about a half mile away to park and locked my firearm up .Returned to the restaurant had another Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat, wait that was another incident. Just interested in opinions would it be prudent to lock the firearm in the safe in the car and then relinquish the keys to the car to the valet? Would that even be legal? The car is an SUV so there is no trunk and it has keyless entry so I had to leave a fob with the valet if I chose valet parking. I'm sure this is a situation that our legislators thought long and hard about (NOT).
  16. That's not on me. That's on the state legislature for passing a stupid unconstitutional law. I have a safe and an alarm and insurance.
  17. I refuse to unload and load in the car. I find it to be unsafe. I stand at the back of the hatch back and place it in the safe there. If someone sees it fuck em. I'm following the law.
  18. Only the 5 boroughs, Nassau and Rockland counties. Everywhere else in the state does not.
  19. My weather is quoting an air quality index of 398 in Morris County. Don't know if that's the same thing.
