Shotgun Shootout! April 12th at Clinton WMA
Sota replied to RecessedFilter's topic in Events & Meetups
I just found out... I can't go. 1st day of soccer for the kid and I have to do transport duties. -
My 3/23 order of FM9R115R-B0500 and FM223F55R-B0250 arrived today. Something happened to the UPS truck out in IL that caused a 5 day delay. I'll say this though... their remans looks BETTER than some FACTORY stuff I have on hand here! Inspected 1500 rounds and I gotta say I found NOTHING visually to concern me. All the cases looked more than acceptable, bullets were shiny and straight, OAL was as identical as I could determine with a metal straight edge, and the primers all looked perfectly installed. If it shoots as good as it looks i'll be very happy. Waiting on my 4/5 order of FM45R230R-C1000 to ship currently.

Also... anyone bringing a 20ga or .410? I'd like to try 'em to see if I want one of either for myself and for newbies I've been trying to bring. -

Sixtytwo327: Think as long as he follows the rule of "you can shoot it if you feed it" I don't think many will have any issues... including me. -

New NJ gun bills stalled?
Sota replied to JayWilling's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
You are not law abiding. The moment you step out of your house you've committed 15 violations of law in some capacity. You have to get it... you're NOT a law abiding citizen in the eyes of the state! You never have been. You have to understand that in NJ you always a criminal until you convince a judge otherwise in a court of law. Get on board with that and realize ANY concession is a strike to be used against you at any moment. -
(values accurate as of the post's date.) Has anyone ever done it? Was it worth it? I wonder since, the 12x12x6 USPS flat rate box is $15.45, with brass credit at $2.50/#, that means the first 6.18# of brass is just to cover shipping. How much can you get in the box?

You know I saw that shortly after I just put in my 2nd order. My first will be here Monday. Let's see if they ask me.

-
Southpaw? Go find an HK P30.
-
damnit. I was going to say... Probably? For sure you'll spend orders of magnitude more on ammo than on guns! But then I looked... about $6000 in guns so far... only $4500 in ammo. :sadpanda: Need to buy more ammo.

no commentary on Powerland's unit itself but... for the price of their 7000W (8500W) unit you could roll your own with a Predator/HF generator of same power, a tri-fuel kit, battery and wheel kit, for a couple hundred less.

you could make it a "shotgun" wedding -
dissimilar systems interfacing and data manipulation has been something I've done many times throughout my career. AKA... I can get data out of a POS and park it into a format some code can understand and make a web page from. Hell a basic shingle-style web page I can even write.

Here's my conundrum... Any time I've called a local shop (prior to my joining this forum, FYI) and inquired about product availability or procurement, I've always been treated like I'm a pariah; that my inquiries are a distraction and disruption of their valuable time. Because of that I haven't bought a firearm locally since 2009 (after I bought my first one brand new.) The same goes for ammo, even before The Great Crunch. I'm also a '3' kind of guy... I very rarely buy something on first sight/fondling. If something catches my eye I examine it, consider it, then put it down and walk away. If I'm drawn back to it 2 more times then I know it's something I truly want and will then procure it. That methodology seems to irk all the shops I've been in. I'm sorry but that's the way I work.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. From my research most of the "commercial" reloading houses do a good job of making sure the cases are to spec; machines are more consistent and reliable than humans when it comes to measuring things. (hence why for the first time I just bought some from Freedom Ammunition.) If it means you can keep ammo in stock and at a reasonable price for use in the rental guns then more power to you.

Agreed that some towns are getting it done faster because of the electronic aspects. But fast bullshit is still bullshit. Also I always get at least 3 permits.

look at it as an opportunity to either educate the unknowing, or shame the s**t out of the stupid.

It's a cheap build from PSA. Decided it was a good way to get my "feet wet" with the whole lego gun thing. I'll build it, shoot it for a while, then decide what to do from there.

there was a thing on This Old House where putting in a tankless setup and ran a concentric duct up the old chimney flue. Apparently that's legal? it was a specially designed flexible plastic duct with fingers that stuck out that kept the "exhaust" pipe centered, and the space around it was where "return" air came back into the building.
