  1. It is extremely rare that entire threads are killed for any reason and even less likely that NJGF management is actively quashing NRA related topics. The reason you won't find much here is because nobody cares about the NRA outside the membership requirement to join many of the ranges in NJ.
  2. Well, there's @Mrs. Peell. She is a devout Taylor Hamster, kind of a zealot actually. Her stubbornness has no limit. Pretty sure Peel has a T shirt that says You can have my Taylor Ham when you pry it .... well, you get the idea. There are a handful of others that have proven resistant to the reeducation campaign.
  3. When I shoot CCI Qs, in my Marlin 25N, the firing pin hitting the cartridge is louder than the report. I'd say they are so quiet, that if a lawnmower was in use nearby, I doubt you'd ever hear the shot.
  4. Sigh .... As a fellow Garand owner, I thought we were going to get along.
  5. I had a similar issue when I replaced the bulbs in a bank of ceiling lights. I replaced the dimmer to one that was marked LED compatible and the problem mostly went away. Sometimes I have to fiddle with the dimmer to get a position where the flicker goes away. I think it's a combination of quality bulbs and a dimmer switch meant for LED.
  6. Never ever debate that. The barrel is the absolute foundation of every rifle, you build the rifle around it. You can spend hundreds on a fine trigger, thousands on an exceptional optic, have the most precise squared receiver, but if you skimp on the barrel, you may as well have flushed your money down the toilet. Precision begins with the barrel.
  7. I like LED but they don't seem to last as long as the advertised life. The LED itself may be good for a bazillion hours, but the electronics are crap and die from heat. I think they are engineered to die at a pre-planned interval. To me, the value in LED is when I'm using my generator. When you swap LED for incandescent, you free up as much as 1000 Watts that can be used to power up a major appliance, or just reduce the demand and use less fuel. Overall, I think CFL is a better bulb, but there is the cold start problem and they are not dimmable. Also, I think they are better able to handle line faults. Had an overhead fixture where incandescent lasted 6 months tops, replaced with CFL and the bulb lasted several years until I replaced with LED. One issue with LED lights is the "lights out" problem. LEDs are semiconductors and will get fried in an EMP. I suspect CFL may be subject to the same effect as there is some solid state circuitry in them too. Halogen is often overlooked. I used halogen when I did video production years ago, and also had some nice track lighting in the rec room too. Halogen lasts forever, at least that's been my experience. Halogen bulbs use more electricity than LED, but if you compare the overall cost to own and use, halogen breaks even with LED because they are less expensive to buy and will last ten years.
  8. Not 100% sure about this but, I believe in NJ, the Lt Gov is appointed by the Gov. Also from AT
  9. Stroke Apparently Oliver was admitted to hospital on Monday 7/31. Why were we not notified that our acting gov was sent to hospital for an ongoing health situation on Monday? It only became a story after she expired. I'm liking stroke related to C19 jabs more and more.
  10. Let's do a poll. What would you put your money on guessing Oliver's cause of death? A) Hart attack B) Aneurysm C) Stroke D) Substance abuse / OD E) Alcohol poisoning F) Suicide G) Pork Roll
  11. Jus throwing this out there Meth before and after
  12. We have been under-volted since this morning. I suspected it when the AC unit was not keeping a room cool that it normally handles with no problem. Right now (15:45) we are at 112.8V,. when the normal value on my Kill-a-Watt normally reads 121V. There are 48 outages, but they all seem small, like less than 20 customers affected at each reported location. In total, about 2500+ customers are down. Probably pole transformers failing as demand during an undervolt stresses them.
  13. Dude, just give up this stupid quest of yours to be right. You are obviously ignorant to the facts and making yourself look like a fool. Kinda wondering why you are stuck on this incredibly improbable scenario like Rain Man and rejecting the contributions to this thread made by an actual expert . That was a rhetorical question, please do not feel compelled to answer it because it will not be responded to. Just accept the fact that you are wrong and move on. I think we are done here discussing your absurd claim that deadly force is appropriate to prevent suicide. It was a ridiculous premise to begin with. Seriously, let it go and if you can't, then go hire Evan Nappan for a proper legal answer that will straighten you out. That would be the prudent thing to do before you go out looking to prevent suicides with deadly force.
  14. These Indian dudes know how to throw down. This song is by an Indian (not American) metal band called Bloodywood (Phrasing, BOOM!) about separation of church and state.
  15. It's like saying happy fourth Thursday of November or happy January first.
  16. On line with the rest of PT Barnum's suckers waiting to be separated from their money.
  17. Because light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
