I have a sig P230 that is very similar in design, it will bite me in the same place if i grip it to high.

If you use a shaded pole motor you can vary speed with a rheostat. Capacitor start or run motors can only be changed with a speed tap if they have one.

Mine is the subcompact, size difference between that and my full size is quite a bit. Can't get my pinky on the grip at all but it still is easy to shoot. Uses a double stack 10 round mag so it's as thick as the full size. Shorter grip and barrel make for much easier concealed carry.

I have 2 PX4s one full size, one subcompact both in .40. Thousands of rounds through the full size and the only hiccups have been due to a few of my reloads.

You need to feather it out more. Another trick when you're sanding is use a very bright light such as a halogen or led work light. Hold it at an angle to the wall and the high and low spots will jump out at you
