  1. I find it amazing how there was a waiting list for quite some time and now since they let the place go to hell so to speak, they're lookin' for members......shot in that tube once many years back....and only once....if ya want to know what it's like to be a woodchuck....
  2. I do remember though they had trouble with NJF&G for violations.....it's true.

Maybe so....but even the most minor adjustments today become a huge undertaking, just because of lack of experience and know how....try and find someone locally who can "Really" work on and set up a 1911like a Jason Burton.....none that I know of and I probably know of most around......your right, it's a dying art that is almost dead.
  4. Hillsborough Shooting Center I was told was closed down by the NJ State Fish & Game for deer check in violations...

But I haven't heard of or been to one shop who has a Smith with the talent and ability of the one's mentioned here years past.....lucky today if they can fit a sight correctly never mind machine in a Bowmar......any "Joe" can get a FFL, put in a couple of counters and open a shop.....not the same....OMO. .....and in the Hamden / New Haven, Ct. area there was Piscatelli's Gun Shop and Cook, Newton & Smith across from High Standard Firearms Co. on Dixwell, Ave. .....had work done there also.

  7. Hmmm.....Maybe, he was across from Behlert on Lehigh Ave. in a split level house....when you walked in he had a Bazooka on the wall.....? Then there was Joey K's in Perth Amboy....did a job for me as well.

The action on my 19 is unreal.......met Cirillo with another fella myself at Ray's one evening...didn't know him at the time but listened to him tell a story about a big fella who took a 12ga. slug CM in a supermarket robbery and ran out of the place with Jim on his tail....guy dropped on the sidewalk. Wished then I knew who he was as I do today...

Yup......Austin was great., Lehigh Ave. in Union...he did an Armaloy finish and trigger job for me on a Custom Model 19 ....don't breath on the trigger in the cocked position...talk about a pistol smith. There was also a fella working out of his home just across the street from Austin, his name escapes me but he had major metal working lathes and machinery in his basement....he did some rifle work for me back then also.
  16. I was the RSO sometimes in the evening as I worked in the store part time....they cleaned the lead out every other day, swept up the brass every morning .....not many problems back in the mid 70's.
  17. I don't associate with folks like that...don't need the headaches after all these years.....been through it. For every gun toater that moves out of Jersey...100 middle eastern immigrants move in.
  18. Pedersoli ............Yup.....actually when I was with Morgan's Riflemen for a brief stint, Wm. Shipman made my rifle, back then 4600.00 .........didn't drop it to much.
  19. This is all BS......the only way it will ever be made right is through the Fed. and that is not likely to happen....OMO. New Hampshire being an Open state, I thought residents do not need a permit.....so, now they must pay 100 bucks to get a state permit to carry in Pa.....BS.....OMO.
  20. I participated in the 225th Anniversary of Battle Road years back and it was ....awesome.
  21. Held yesterday in honor of April 19th, 1775 ......Lexington Greene....."The Shot Heard Round The World"......lest we forget.
