Sure, you can buy a 1911 for under $1000. You can also spend some money and buy a real 1911.

Contacting your representative is futile. It's a meaningless act that is designed merely to appease the people by leading them to believe they did something constructive. Everybody on the hill is laughing at us.

The bill could very well sit there for months, years, or never even be reviewed. It must first be reviewed by the subcommittee, and then it goes back up to the committee for denial or approval. If approved, it goes to the House for debate, and hopefully, a vote. If it passes in the House, it then goes through the Senate committee/subcommittee/debate/vote process. Obviously, this is a lengthy process, and given the number of bills that have been introduced, and the number of big issues the GOP wants to tackle, I'd argue those here who believe we'll be carrying in NJ inside of six months are living in a dream world.

Got rid of my TV years ago. I don't miss it. Distracts a person from things that actually matter.

You really think NJ, NY, MD, and other states are just going to magically roll over and say, "Oh I guess the 2A really means that our people can carry!" Please. Optimism is a good thing, but don't be naive. There's an army of attorneys out there ready to fight tooth and nail against this thing.. Even if they lose and we win, it will take months or years to get there.

That thing is far too ugly to be called a 1911. I wouldn't own one for free.

The first big hurdle is getting the bill through the House judiciary committee. The vast majority of bills introduced die in committee without ever hitting the floor, simply because the committee chair decides there are other bills that are more important to review. Beyond that, if passed, a federal judge will grant an injunction while certain states debate this endlessly in court. In other words, don't hold your breath.

He's just angry I won't pay him $10/hour to mow my lawn, because the Mexican does a better job than he would, lol.

Legal, and something to be avoided, unless you want to be hounded endlessly.

You do realize it'll take many months or even years for that decision to finally arrive, right? It'll be at least 6 months before the bill even gets passed (if it gets passed at all), and then the state challenges will come. A judge will grant an injunction. This will then be debated endlessly in court, until it ends up in the SCOTUS. Assuming the SCOTUS doesn't then send it back down to a lower court because it doesn't feel like debating this (something it often does with 2A cases), then a Trump-appointed SCOTUS would most likely rule in favor of the 2A. Most likely. This process is akin to threading a needle from a thousand miles away. I'm all in favor of optimism, but we also need to be realistic here. A bill like this will not pass quickly and/or easily. Don't forget, the Democrats will filibuster the shit out of this in the Senate. They only removed the filibuster for judicial appointments; they can and will filibuster the CCW reciprocity bill.

This is why the girlfriend and I are planning on moving out of this god forsaken hellhole within the next 12 months. I suggest you gentlemen do the same.

1) How much? I'll put $100K on it not happening by June. 2) There's really no reason to believe NJ, MD, or any other similar state would not invoke the 10A if this bill passes. These states very clearly don't care what the rest of the states in the union are doing. Frankly, I'm not sure where you get the idea that states can't invoke the 10A, because it's very common. Furthermore, NJ and other states with lots of gun laws have for years been infringing upon the 2A, and by doing so, violating the 14A as well. And yet, the courts don't particularly care. Don't assume that the Dorito moving into the White House this month is going to magically change that. Assuming this bill passes one day, somewhere a judge will grant an injunction that will last for months, if not years, as this is debated endlessly in court. Ultimately, this is the kind of legislation that could end up in the SCOTUS, which also takes months or years. I wouldn't put it past NJ to change state law and make itself into a "no issue" state, which would then exempt the state from honoring any CCW permits.

Hopefully the chairman of the judiciary committee decides this bill is important enough to begin the markup process. Most bills enter committee and are never heard from again. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if this bill gets butchered while in committee. Although, things have changed somewhat, considering several of the Democrats on the judiciary committee come from Trump states...

Good news, and congratulations. Do your best to not fuck up anymore.

You really can't go wrong with any Sig. Expensive, and some say overpriced, but they are quality firearms.
