  1. In my case, I received a email reply when the SP received the completed form from the reference. I've received 4 so far. One when I completed the form, 2 from them receiving the references, and one when they completed the background check. The last thing they are working on is the mental health check, wonder how long that will take?
  2. Medicare won't pay for a exterior ramp. They think it's a "convenience" item. I would get that question all the time. There's a chance a secondary insurance policy might, depending on DME coverage on it.
  3. You new favorite congresswoman, AOC, is already out condemning the NRA, as in some way, she thinks they were responsible for this incident. Wanna take a bet that they will still try. Mark my words, the Democrats will be introducing some MAJOR gun grab bill in response to this shooting in the very near future... "Never let a Good crisis go to waste".
  4. If she can walk that distance but just can't lift her weight up to the next step, she'll probably be fine with the little bit steeper ramp. If you go with the modular type, you can actually tweak them and play with the pitch to cover the distance you need, as the ramps slide up and down on the support legs, and you just tighten them at the point where you want.
  5. You're right at maximum pitch of 2/12, where ideal is 1/12, with the 23 inches in height. I've done 12 foot ramps for 23" for power wheelchairs and scooters, since they can climb, but that gets a bit steep for walking. If it's just because she can't lift her leg for the next step, but is OK on walking, she should be OK. If it's a strength issue and she can barely go any distance or is using a walker, it could be tough with that angle. Everyone's ability is different, based on the medical issue.
  6. Permits, that's usually the case, unless you can hide it (garage or backyard). The modular ones have become very popular. Do you have the space for approximately 20 feet of ramp?
  7. Not always. Mine get called "Dickhead" pretty frequently.
  8. I just went to check the FAQ section again. The State Police actually changed it. If you scroll back to page Two of this thread, March 5th, I copied and pasted that section at that time. Look what I just found on the SP site, they updated it: Do I need to separately apply for Consent for Mental Health Records Search form? top You need to do it ONLY if you have resided out of State within the last ten (10) years. In that scenario you must go directly to the issuing police department to complete an authorization S.P. 66 Form for Mental Health Records . This will be sent to all States in which you have previously resided in. So, apparently they DON'T need the SP 066 form if you've been a state resident. Now I need to check to see where they get permission to search, if we didn't give the OK.
  9. I would double check that, some PDs are confused, they think everything is online. JohnnyB just went through that with his PD. They said no at first, then a few days later told him to come in and sign the form in front of them. I did the same thing, I'm the first going through the online program with my PD, went in and signed the form in person. Even the SP directions (look under FAQ on the bottom) says you have to go in person and sign the form. There's a lot of confusion with the new system that the local PDs have to figure out.
  10. I use to work in that industry. You actually have three options. Depends on where the ramp is going to go and how high it will need to be. Code says you need 1 ft (12" of ramp for every 1" you have to go up. So if you're going up two steps, (approx. 14"), you'll need 14 feet of ramp, as a ballpark. If it doesn't need to be full code (no wheelchair being used), you can cheat that up to half. Options: Build a conventional wood ramp out of 2x4s, plywood, etc. Buy a modular aluminum, bolt together system that comes in sections. If it's short term, rent a aluminum ramp system, that can be removed when not needed. Another question, didn't you just finish your basement for her. How will she get down there?
  11. I would guess, yes, since it was the state police that set up the online processing. When you search for the ORI number, you can pick the barracks to process it.
  12. That's the first thing I thought of..... a puppy..... do you know what you're getting yourself into, considering never having a puppy? I just went through that with my pup... it can be hell at times. Do you have lots of patience, time, money, not sleeping the first month..... did I mention patience...? You're taking on a really time consuming project. Ask me how I know. Ha, exactly what I was looking for too, went through a bunch before deciding. Want to know what I named him? Look to the left of this post, right above the bullseye. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good choice, specially when I have to call to him to stay down around a group of people. Since you're looking for names close to Hungary, how about Ruger? Only a few countries away. Or, the initials AK
  13. I believe that is what it is. These Liberal judges think the Constitution is a living, breathing document that can be interpreted/changed at will. They just make up new laws as they go, and then play a wait and see if they will be overturned by a higher court.
  14. Because people a lot smarter than you (who AREN'T fanboys) have talked about electric supply issues if this technology expands past the fanboy stage. The current grid won't be able to handle it. Got a generator at home, otherwise you might end up with a really expensive lawn ornament?
  15. What always bothered me with this case was that Adam Laza was already a felon, before he even left his house. He stole his mother's legally owned gun, killed her, then went to the school. He committed multiple felonies long before the school situation happened. Plus, he had past mental illness issues too. How this becomes a case over "marketing" with Remington, and how it got into the court to start with, is nuts.
  16. Just coming to post that, highest demand for power is in the evening, when every gets home from work. Plus, what Darren doesn't realize, is that we can't rely on solar power to make up the extra either at that time, because the sun has set. Rapid chargers will put a HUGE demand load on the system. And no, I doubt people will postpone charging of their cars until late at night, they'll plug them in as soon as they get home, and go in.
  17. More creeping into the reversal of the 2A. They're going after 1A "violations" to subdue 2A rights. Charging a manufacturer for what a owner does with a piece of equipment is absolutely nuts. Where does it stop? Will Louisville Slugger get charged for baseball bat beatings? Will Henckel get charged for stabbings? Will Ford get charged for a driver's DUI when they run over someone? Will Home Depot get charged when a robber beats you to death with a hammer? HARTFORD, Conn. – Gunmaker Remington can be sued over how it marketed the Bushmaster rifle used to kill 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, a divided Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Thursday. Justices issued a 4-3 decision that reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit and overturned a lower court ruling that the lawsuit was prohibited by a 2005 federal law that shields gun manufacturers from liability in most cases when their products are used in crimes. The plaintiffs include a survivor and relatives of nine people killed in the massacre. They argue the AR-15-style rifle used by shooter Adam Lanza is too dangerous for the public and Remington glorified the weapon in marketing it to young people. Joshua Koskoff, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, told the state Supreme Court during arguments in November 2017 the Bushmaster rifle and other AR-15-style rifles were designed as military killing machines and should never have been sold to the public. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/03/14/sandy-hook-shooting-gunmaker-remington-can-sued-court-rules/3162168002/
  18. Wait, are you saying the electric isn't "free" at all those charging stations? It doesn't just appear, all by itself?
  19. What's the definition of a relative, blood or law, or both? The government, in all it's finest!
  20. Mine went out immediately (the night I did the application), and my references responded back the next morning.
  21. Which are prescribed by a doctor. Are you a doctor? 40,000 die each year in car crashes. How many more from DUI are you OK with? Maybe you special snowflakes need to learn how to deal with life's issues instead of self medicating yourself. Is that a big problem today with college aged kids? You mean like spending MILLIONS on a hoax like Russian collusion?
  22. I saw the question posed if that was the location, but missed your one word reply to it. Plus, there was no town or address listed, so who suppose to know where it is? BTW, that's NOT Northeast of Easton, which also made me wonder. Maybe you should stick it.
  23. Thanks, I just re-scrolled the whole thread and didn't see that posted anywhere.
  24. Did we ever determine exactly where this range is, or which state, so travel times can be figured out?
