  1. OK, Time for the Mid-Summer update. How are all you guys doing with your lawns? Got Summer burnout, full of weeds or is it nice and green? I'll go first, the main part of my lawn took a big beating from the new puppy over the winter. Between the dead, yellow rings from him peeing, plus all the wear and tear with going out multiple times, wear patterns and playing, parts looked like a moonscape, because the grass was dormant and not growing over the Winter. I put a ton of effort fertilizing, liming, scratching and seeding, watering, and hand pulling weeds, and I got it back to nice and green. I got the 4 legged knucklehead to pee on a gravel section of the yard, so that stopped most of the dead urine rings in the grass. He still sneaks on occasion and nails the grass, but it's usually on the edges. Hell, I got a male dog this time, hoping he would lift his leg and pee on the fence on the edges of the property and save the grass, but he's still squatting like a girl, at just over a year old. He must be a Liberal I'm watering every other day, maybe every 3 days at most, and I run the sprinkler at least a hour :15, maybe a little more in each section, to water deeply. So far, no Summer burnout, so it must be working, but I end up having to cut every 5 - 6 days. So, let's hear it, what's your lawns looking like?
  2. I received a response from the local county coordinator. He claims that my town doesn't have a specific team, and they call in county resources when needed. He said next training session starts in October, so I'll probably check it out.
  3. Just one good point from that article: ...." “Claiming that banned magazines are not needed for self-defense while simultaneously exempting their use for the protection of lawmakers is outrageous and the height of hypocrisy,” said ANJRPC Executive Director Scott Bach. “This elitist double standard is irrational, indefensible, and shows the utter contempt New Jersey has for its ‘subjects,’” said Bach. How can the state disagree that?
  4. So, is central command for CERT county wide, or do they break it down smaller, by regions or towns. I'm assuming you're in Monmouth County (but under your avatar it says "country"). Who handles the training and dispatch, is it one location for the complete county or are there smaller groups that get dispatched to different areas of the county or coming out of certain towns? I see there is one coordinator for Ocean County, my area, I sent a quick note to him for more info.
  5. Brick?? It's cases now... don't be a slacker, you have to order in cases... He's part of the "Instant Society", it has to be here NOW!!!
  6. Impressive win by Truex. What makes me laugh, he keeps spanking the Gibbs boys, even though he a satellite team of theirs.
  7. Then you consider this was stupid and irresponsible too, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolutionary_War BTW, how are you enjoying your life under British rule? Well, at least we now know where you stand.
  8. So, we'll put you in the "keyboard commando" column, is that correct? http://thomaspaine.org/aboutpaine/was-thomas-paine-a-disheveled-drunk.html http://kenburchell.blogspot.com/2012/08/was-thomas-paine-depressed-drunk-and.html https://mises.org/library/thomas-paine-libertys-hated-torchbearer https://www.theguardian.com/books/2006/jul/15/featuresreviews.guardianreview28
  9. I love that defeatist attitude.... now you know why we keep getting it jammed up our asses without any lube. At some point, it comes down to principle, and standing up for what's right. That can be painful, that can be costly, that can be expensive, but at some point, it NEEDS to be done. At what point do people move from being a keyboard commando to an active participant?
  10. He does make some interesting points.
  11. Well, there is a loop hole to the NICS and FFL transfer: The provisions of this paragraph shall not apply if the transaction is: (a) between members of an immediate family as defined in subsection n. of this section; So, just make sure they're a family member. Maybe adopt the seller for the day!
  12. Hopefully, it was just a reaction to the new food. Usually, the recommended way is to blend new and old food and taper off the old to the new over the course of a week to avoid any issues. Let's hope that's all it was.
  13. Wait, that could be OK if you can just sit back, drink coffee and bark out commands, right?
  14. I considered that too, was a volunteer firefighter in a previous life, not sure if I'm up to heading out multiple times during the week or at night anymore. The body ain't what is was back when I was in my 20's.... darn...
  15. I went by there today, he had put a note on the door he moved to a new location. Sent him an email to find out where, he's working out of his house, same phone number. Seems that there are a few FFL's working out of their houses in the area.
  16. Have you been called out yet on any situations?
  17. I was thinking about joining once before too, then got sidetracked with other stuff. Here is the NJ information: http://www.ready.nj.gov/cert/index.shtml
  18. The form hasn't been completed or published yet. The signed bill said the NJSP will "in 60 days" if I remember correctly.
  19. and be transferred through a FFL... " (2) A person who is not a licensed retail dealer and sells, gives, transfers, assigns, or otherwise disposes of, or receives, purchases or otherwise acquires an antique cannon or a rifle or shotgun pursuant to this section shall conduct the transaction through a licensed retail dealer. (2) A person who is not a licensed retail dealer and sells, gives, transfers, assigns, or otherwise disposes of, or receives, purchases or otherwise acquires a handgun pursuant this section shall conduct the transaction through a licensed retail dealer. " 2. This act shall take effect on the first day of the fourth month next following enactment. " Good idea!
  20. I believe it does, because you're not transporting them (and I still have a issue with the "transport" claim.) as we're in the grace period. You're going to get jammed at home if you use a 4 round mag (or a revolver), it won't be the mag that's the issue.
  21. Wow, I've bought some stuff from him, he seemed busy? Any chance he moved to a bigger location? I'll swing by there today to see what's up.
  22. Yep, traditional harnesses that attach on the back act just like that, usually you can only go to that type of harness way after the dog is trained on how to walk correctly, or it will just play the "pull" game with them. Has he eaten anything outside or inside? Possible obstruction? Does he eat twigs, plants or anything else when outside? There are many plants that are poisonous to dogs. Swallow pieces of bones or toys? Eat any kids toys? If he has an obstruction, it can cause them to throw-up like that. Is he pooping normal amounts? You have to watch the throwing up, the dog can easily get dehydrated, which will cause a bunch of other issues.
