  1. Yea, it was. I got Silencer Smooth, AK47, Just Black, and Beyond Black. Figured it's a good range of ones I haven't tried.
  2. I bought four last night. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  3. My wife slept in then did a 5K in the pouring rain. I drank my coffee and relaxed with the dog, listening to the rain and did some dog training. What amazed me most was all these people who were bragging about getting up at 5-6am to watch this were a lot of the people who can't even get up early enough to get to work on time.
  4. Everyone in the Long Branch area was so obsessed with Rook. I thought it was kind of overrated. Not bad, but people were making it out to be way better than it is.
  5. https://www.blackriflecoffee.com/ Has anyone here tried it? I've had their CAF blend (Caffeinated As Fuck) and I think it tastes solid with plenty of caffeine needed to not fall asleep during the day. It's veteran owned and veteran employed. A portion of all profits go to military charities. I'm looking to try some other blends of theirs but curious as to what other people think.
  6. 5/14/2018 - FID permit application and required forms submitted (1 handgun permit included) 5/21/2018 - References received their forms, I received my request for fingerprints. References mailed them in next day 6/2/2018 - Got my fingerprints done 6/7/18 - Called at 4:30, Lt took my name and number and would pass it on to the secretary who keeps track of this stuff. Hopefully good news tomorrow morning. 6/8/18 - Called me back, said they got fingerprints yesterday, should be done by end of next week which would be about 30 days. 6/19/18 - Approved
  7. I think it's a horrible incident and I feel horrible for anyone connected to the victims. They probably didn't see it coming because they haven't had a mass shooting in well over a decade which is fantastic. I wish we could go one month without one. A lot of them were caused by people with clean records so preventing them would have been tough. I'd prefer we focus on keeping the guns out of criminals hands and stop all the small instances that happen every single day from people in gangs and such.
  8. I've got CCI mini mags. Just buy a few hundred at a time for bulk pricing. Right now, my favorite target paper has 5 targets spread out into their own bulleyes. I usually do 20 rounds per target and most of them are hitting on target at 25 yards with iron sight. I figure a scope can help me close up those groupings along with being able to do longer distances. Ideally I wanted to spend no more than $200 but I don't want something cheap and waste my money. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-strikefire-2-red-dot-with-red-green-dot-cantilever-mount I like the looks of this red dot. Price is decent but no magnification. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-spitfire-3x-prism-scope-with-ebr-556b-moa-reticle About twice the price. 3X magnifcation http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/crossfire-II-2-7x32-rimfire-with-v-plex-moa-reticle Cheaper scope, probably does exactly what I need without a red dot.
  9. So currently, my wife and I have purchased a S&W M&P 15-22 along with a Baretta M9A1. Being the nerd I am, I read the manuals first and see that the guns should be cleaned prior to first use to get rid of extra factory oils and such which makes perfect sense. I've heard the 15-22 will get dirty fast. I could use some recommendations of decent cleaning kits. Guns need tender love and care too. As far as optics go, my wife doesn't care about adding anything to her M9A1 (at least at the moment). I, on the other hand, would like to add onto my 15-22. When I've used the 15-22 before, I shoot at 25 yards with the iron sights and do decent. I'd like to shoot further and with Range 129 hopefully opening soon, I'm super excited for them to have a 100 yard indoor range. But at that point, I'd like to get a scope for it. Not trying to break the bank but I want something decent. Doesn't have to be top of the line but just want something that's good for its money.
  10. Everyday beer: Yuengling or Alexander Keiths Feeling fancy: Sam's Cold Snap Local microbrewery: Garden State Beer Company: Blue Jersey American Wheat Hamburger: Surprisingly, Red Robin. I don't get burgers often but theirs is spiced nicely.
  11. This is the biggest issue with our silly two party system. If you disagree with the party, you don't get in their way and stand up to them. Because sticking it to the other side is more important than sticking up for what is right.
  12. Pork roll. I'm originally from Central Jersey near the beach so it's Pork Roll for us.
  13. So, how'd you hear about us? Google How long did you lurk here before registering? 5 seconds What prompted you to register? Quick check of posts, everyone seemed reasonable so why not? I'm a liberal who enjoys shooting so finding a niche where I fit in can be tough. My wife and I actually had one of our first dates at a shooting range. She came to visit from Canada and we went to an outdoor range in the Poconos. They had all sorts of handguns and rifles with different modifications to try out. Range instructor gives you a safety briefing, then we went out, would pick what we'd want (with some advice) and he'd show us how to load, safety, magazine release, type of trigger and was there next to you to ensure you did everything correctly and didn't do anything stupid like not point the gun downrange, etc. After she moved here and we got married, we decided to find a range we liked and join. Found Full Metal Jacket in Upper Township. Not a huge place but the staff are super friendly and helpful. Plus they have rentals and rented to us without FIDs. Just had to watch their training video and had a range instructor keep an eye on us. Being able to rent is fantastic. My wife prefers handguns. I prefer rifles. I'm super logical so I gravitated to .22s because they are super easy to shoot and ammo is cheap. Right now, all I want to do is plink away so it's perfect for my needs. Wife just purchased a Baretta M9A1 and a S&W M&P 15-22 that I'll primarily use. She'll transfer it to me when I get my FID card. Very excited to be able to get outdoors now that the weather is nice. I'm not an expert shot, but I'm not feeling drastically challenged at 25 yards. Hoping to learn lots from the more experienced folk here. Before my wife, I spent a year in Afghanistan as a contractor and had to receive basic firearm training before deploying. Learned a lot from the instructors there and kept learning from the soldiers I worked with while I was overseas. A great learning experience.
  14. I had no problem checking out guns and supplies at Shooters.I don't have a FID yet (Just filled out the paperwork, gotta mail it in). My wife has her card and was making her first purchase. I asked to look at a specific rifle and in conversation, mentioned my non-FID status while looking it over. The clerk had no problem with that. Very friendly staff. No one gave me any trouble with me looking at various rifles.
