  1. NOPE! Thats the first ive ever heard of this.. Always been pay upon pick up.. And hopefully they date your permits when you pick them up! But this is sounding like a firearms UNfriendly community you are dealing with..
  2. Hit the auction this morning and stocked up a little bit.. My typical ammo purchases are low price Tula and such for fun target shooting and plinking.. Would i be wrong to use either of these for general range fun? Im thinking better to hold on to it just in case; and keep using cheap stuff for range fun... In addition to the 5.56 and teh .45ACP cases, you can see i grab some once fire hulls and nag of new wads.. Why?! lol.. just because i guess! And the box full of reloading stuff has all sorts of goodies... Ill dig through it shortly and maybe post up some pics... Im not married to ANY of this stuff, so some may even go on the market... Ron
  3. Well i just did a little bit of stocking up this morning at the auction.. heres some pics but ill start a new thread..
  4. looks like you'll be dry, just a wee bit cooler! high of 42.. gonna seem like an artic blast after these two 60+ degree days we had!
  5. Just about used up all the CB shorts i had, manually cycle through the Model 60. Its a pain in the ass loading and cycling one at a time though as you cant laod up shorts in the .22LR only gun, it tries loading 1&1/2 rounds at a time and that just doesnt work! lol I just received my order today from midway and picked up some CCI CB Longs so i can load up, and manually cycle like normal. Shot a few today and they are just as quiet and sound exactly the same as CB shorts and the same 29 grain bullet and traveling 710 fps.. I also picked up CCI .22LR's that are labeled just as "Quiet Semi-Auto .22". They are a 45 grain bullet with a claimed 835 fps. I havent shot them yet to see just how quiet they are or if they do indeed cycle through the Model 60. Im thinking these are standard velocity rounds with a 45 grain bullet to slow it down 200 fps making very subsonic.. I look forward to shooting a few rounds and seeing just how quiet they are.. Now i just need to find some time to get to the range to sight in the new scope on my Marlin Golden 39M lever gun, so none of this autoloader issues really matter! Longs, Shorts, and what ever else i can stuff in the tube will shoot flawlessly through this 39M.
  6. Nice! Had to look that one up. Didnt know about that model, but ill surely keep an open eye for one to pop up some where along the way.
  7. i assumed they added centerfire because there are fox/coyote seasons where centerfire rifles are allowed. Though the regulations state up to .25 caliber. So im happily surprised the ranges are allowing .30 caliber.
  8. Picked up this aimSHOT red laser with pressure switch up. It was crudely ziptied to the top of the vent rib of a shotgun i got at auction. the laser works great, just doesnt have a bracket to mount properly to a rail. i checked out the aimSHOT website but cant find this one. I assume its an older model. Diametere wise, it measures about 9/16". Anyone have any experience with this, parts laying around, or guidance where to find something. Thanks! Ron
  9. just too convenient quiet! Ive been plinking off the back porch every day for a week.. lol Had to place up a midway order for a bunch more anlong with some other stuff..
  10. But i like living life on the edge! i do have my Marlin 39M, just changed out scopes and havnt had the chance to zero it in yet.. shooting the short CB's through the Model 60 was more a curiosity than a neccessicity. Something to spark some gun conversation around here. been kinda dull.. Nothing but politics and coronavirus discussions as of late...
  11. Kinda what i assumed as far as the LR's go.. Just manually cycle watching for jam ups.. Whats the thoughts on the Shorts chambering and firing from a LR gun only? I ran a few manually through the Model 60 and seemed to work fine and accurate... Pinged the steel plate at about 50 yards from the back deck... Gun was sighted in at 75 yards with LR, so the CB shorts seem to be right on at 50..
  12. I was digging deep in the bottom of the gun cabinet and came up with an old pack of CCI CB Shorts.. forgot i had em, only about 15 left.. I vaguely recall shooting them often from the bathroom windown when i was young and living home.. Backyard plinking at its best! to age them, consider the 4.19$ price tag from Sportsmens Center on the package.. Any reason not to shoot CB Shorts from a Model 60 semiauto? I know they wont cycle; i did manually load one at a time and took a few backayrd shots yesterday. Seemed to work fine. My thoughts are, becuase they are shorter than a .22LR, is there a danger of the bullets traveling that short space before entering the barrel where a .22LR 's would initially start from? And any issues from manually cycling CB Longs in this same gun?
  13. I'll eat 'em raw if it keeps them from voting Democrat!
  14. I have visited both, and bought a handgun at GSSC, but have not shot at either facility. I will say, i was much more impressed with the store front facilities and the staff at GSSC.
  15. damn, did i smell bad??? I put deoderant on that morning.... You guys were 5 lanes to my right, and Silverado427 was 5 lanes to my left..and i got to put no faces to names around here.. maybe next time!
  16. Well it sure quieted up here quickly! @Zeke @Scorpio64 What lane were you guys in???
  17. I was never a glock fan boy either... I prefer to be different, or unique.. But now that i have that one, and the cheap barrel swaps, i really do like the gun! A LOT! would never replace a 1911, or 92S, or any other real metal gun with a hammer. But definitely a nice one to have in addition of the others!
  18. Sweet! Im at the lower end of the buying population $$$... lol Im always keeping an eye out for good used deals or budget priced but still quality new stuff.. I had gotten 4 PP's.. Used 2, and just got extensions on the last two.. Need to hurry and find something.. Probably going to grab this: https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/92435 Then couple the NICS/Transfer with the 2 pack AR lowers your posted..
  19. Thanks! Not too far from me; about 40 mins or so.. Checked out his website... Here's what the fee's are listed as: Transfer Cost (1st)Firearm $ 25.00 + NJ Nics $15.00 (2nd) Firearm $ 20.00 (3rd) Firearm $15.00 Maximum 3 then discount no longer applies unless previously approved by Monmouth Arms, LLC. (1st)Firearm $ 25.00 + NJ Nics $15.00 (2nd) Firearm $ 20.00 (3rd+) Firearm $15.00 Maximum 5 then discount no longer applies unless previously approved by Monmouth Arms, LLC.
  20. Hmmm.. Valid points... What and where is Steve (FFL)? Im out of 30 day PP jail and looking to pick up a ATI 1911 .45 and having it shipped to a FFL. If theres a local enough FFL that would run the nics and do 3 transfers for one charge, then i would probably grab these lowers 'just becuase'... Ron
  21. Great deal! IF only we could walk into a local gun store and walk out the door with them at that price.. But with shipping, tax, and then NICS & Transfer, were looking at $120+ out the door price.. $60+ each... Not bad, but not great.. This state is soooo frustrating..
  22. Im almost certain he was deaf too. At the start the tower was repeating to move his bottles out to the 25 yard line. He had no idea those insturctions were for him.. Later on, one of the roving RO's then stopped to tell him to move the stuff back further but the guy didnt acklowedge, or i assume hear him. The RO ended up moving the stuff back for him, and the gentleman in the lane 17 went over and drew 25 and an arrow in the sand to explain to the guy what was going on. Then even later on, everyone had their red flags back out after the cease fire except the hearing impaired shooters. RO kept calling over anbd over for all flags to be changed if you are done. Finally i got the guys attention in lane 16 when he looked over my way. I pointed to my red flag and then he changed his and gave me a thumbs up.. Also, during a called cease fire, but before anyone was allowed down range, the guy went back to the table, rechamcered a round, and sat at the table; all the while tower is repeating a cease fire, off the concrete.. So im pretty sure the whole group was deaf.
  23. It was good!! i was in lane 19.. And as you may recall, you never once heard the tower yell at me! It really was pretty simple common sense. Just paid attention to what orders the speaker guy ranting and thats about it. I signted 'officially' sighted in 4 guns.. Realized the piece of shit Amazon reflex red dot scope i put on the hi-point 45 is a piece of shit.. Probably wont be able to hit the broad side of a barn at 50 yards with it.. My T/C impact with the included T/C scope sighted in nicely at 100 yards. I'll now feel confident in the woods that i could hit the deer; as long as i have a nice place to sit, and a compfortable pillow to to rest the barrel on. My inherited (dad's) Marlin/glenfield 60 sighted in beautifully at 75 yards withe the Barska scope i just put on it. And finally, my mint Marling Golden 39M sighted in with the horrible scope that was on it when i bought the gun used 25+ years ago. Its one of those rinky dink little tasco 3-9 with the lenses the size of a penny and the tube the size of dime.. It sighted in fine, just horrible optics. Going to put a Barska on it like i did on the model 60. All in all, good day. Got the newbie jitters out for range time.. I'll be back soon and hopefully often. The traffic and drive time may influence that. Maybe next time we can all introduce and say hello; put some faces with the names... Ron
