Current Firearm Restricted Places

Where exactly are the NJ statutes and/or administrative code for handgun carry restrictions? I see many opining but no references. We know that the mob in Trenton want to create sensitive places but what are they right now?

• Schools, colleges, universities or other educational institutions [N.J. Stat. Ann. § 2C:39-5];
• Casinos [N.J. Admin. Code § 13:69D-1.13];
• State parks [N.J. Admin. Code § 7:2-2.179(b)];
• Wildlife Management Areas, state forests and national forests [NJ Admin. Code § 7:2-2.17(b)];
• Statue Cruises ferry to Ellis Island & Liberty Island, and the Statue of Liberty Natl Monument [NPS Security Standards]; and
• Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law or state law or regulation.

Looks like only schools have the force of law with penalty. The others have no penalty mentioned. Casinos must have a sign at every entrance. So currently all the places I frequent are not restricted, good. Eventually someone will challenge state parks, there’s no 1791 historical analog. Same with wildlife areas. You can tell they never figured we’d go shall issue. These are so scattered about it’s no wonder they’d be hard to find, thanks

I was used to the Casinos, K-12 schools, and federal  buildings in Pennsylvania, so I'm not too surprised New Jersey would want a much longer list.  Im sure New Jersey has no preemption law, so i'm sure some, if not many local governments will try to go crazy on adding to the list.

Another related question. How about a loaded gun in your locked trunk. Say you park and take mass transit to a place you can’t carry. Is this permissible under current statute for a permitted individual?
