.22 snapcaps

Recommended Posts

remember someone here asked about it. Saw it at effingers today. 6 for $10.

From what I have heard, don't use them for dryfiring. The rims break and you wind up with small bits of plastic in your action. They are only to safely check the function of a firearm. A spent case if the best for dry firing but it's difficult to chamber.

I bought a pack of the plastic snap caps from Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters for like $10 it came with 12 red snap caps I use them in my girlfriends S&W 617 revolver for dry fire practice all the time with no issues. when I got my Browning Buckmark I took one of the extras and tried it an after a few trigger pulls I notices a very distinct firing pin mark forming in the snap cap. It seems the Buckmark firing pin hits allot harder than the S&W revolver dose. I still use the caps in the revlover but I use spent brass in the Buckmark.
