Are rifles registered in NJ? If not, does this mean

Recommended Posts

They arent supposed to keep the records of the NICS check and all that, but NJ also has the Certificate of Eligibility, which is almost identical to the federal form, and im positive NJ keeps a copy of the COE.

2 copies of the COE - one goes to the seller for his records, one to the buyer for his records.

The only record is the 4473.

Not registered, per se. But they can check the records of FFL's to determine who purchased what.

Same with handguns, really. They are only registered to NJ, if they are purchased in NJ. If you moved here from another state and brought handguns with you, there is no requirement to register them.
