making hivis front site for your taurus 1911

here is an inexpensive way to make a hivis site for you taurus 1911.

 

This was a novak style front site.

 

purchased pack of EGW .060 hivis replacement rods.

removed the site from the slide, mounted in non marring vise.

drilled out the site and then cut a portion out for the hivis to pick up light cut the back portion on angle to hold hivis rod in place the taurus site has a hole already in it so you only have to remove their white paint in hole.

painted inside with white paint inserted hivis rod and glued in place with hot glue gun, i did preheat site with hair dryer before gluing their is also an opening underneath where i glued it in.
